The Werewolf situation

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 4:06 am

Well, since there was that article from the german mag that was taken by us (skyrim owners-in-waiting) to mean they were not in game, did we just set ourselves up? Imagine the buzz the game will get on its release date, right on 11/11/11 when the first people make the true discovery, i fear in participating in all this "its leaked it cant be fake it must be real", we all may be stealing bethesda's thunder, so i think we should just leave it alone, and instead of saying (in the event that lycanthropy is in the game) whyd they hide that from us? we should ask, why are we taking the joy from the fans? i cant say even with the "evidence" if its true or not, but although i would really wanna know, id also like to wait and see

they never lied about it, they just never commented we just assumed they werent in game after that, there have been many posts on uesp forums about the validity of that article, saying nothing and saying they arent in the game, and we arent going to have them in until DLC would be different, we dont know.. untill 1 week from today

Aye, just imagine what a pleasant surprise it would have been during your playthrough if it hadn't been leaked? A true OMGWTF moment.

Now it's instead a "meh, I knew that already *snores*" moment -_-

It wouldn't have stayed secret for more than a few days anyway. If you ignored the Companions in the early game it would've come out before you got to it. The timeline would've played out almost exactly the same. It's very hard to insulate yourself from spoilers on the internet.

On the contrary, I can only speak for myself, but I would be kind of mad I didn't know bout it at first. I will be actively pursuing it with my character, who is planned to be a mage. If I didn't know about it, I would ignore the path that turns out to lead to it till near the end of my play-through, only to find out I could have been a werewolf the whole time. It svcks for bethesda, but it for me, turns a "You mean I could have been one this whole time?" moment in to one I'll enjoy because I know about it and can pursue it.

If it was there, we still couldn't tell. Plus there will always be kinds and things for doing. That is the way of things. Of course, certain political institutions would lead us to think differently, but they have no power here. We are the ones who know the world and its inner workings.

As much as I'd like to believe that, there are always people who are just as excited to share their personal experiences as they are with playing the game. In any case what is done is done, for me personally the experience is still going to have a thrilling WOW factor even without the shock :shocking:

Good news but could I ask you something?

Is there a new transformation animation now or they did it like in Bloodmoon?

No way!!!! I suspected it would be the same as Bloodmoon. I didn't think xbox 360 tech was good enough for full on werewolf transformation yet, but I'm not that knowledgable about tech to be honest. Lol, this just raised my excitement +1.

I can't say 100% because footage was low res live streaming stuff I saw, but it looks like the player sort of hunches over in an animation and fades out while the werewolf model fades in. It's not a morph target but simply an alpha fade out/in of two models. Looked good enough for me though. Much better than a cut scene like morrowind.

I don't think anyone here in this thread is denying it anymore? The op was saying we shouldn't spread the knowledge around anymore.
