CCNA said in a previous thread that he has contacted Gstaff and some Devs to hopefully get some word on this.

All we can do now is wait really.

Oh cool. I contacted Matt, but I doubt he will get me a reply if he is busy. Thanks CC

THAT patch is not the DAY 1 PATCH. Nobody has a clue what that patch was meant for. The 11-11 patch is the DAY 1 patch.

Surely it would only take Beth developers like 5 mins to test this and at least confirm the issue!

I am probably most worried by the silence.

So your saying you dont have internet in your house?

I'll try my best to explain my situation in english...

My internet connection its not wi-fi, its not wireless, its cable.
my xbox is on the second floor, while my pc with internet is on the first, they are really far away from each other.
if I want to connect it via cable, I would need to perforate a lot of walls to make it reach the modem, no one would allow that.
and if I want to make it via a wireless modem, I fear the signal wouldn't be strong enough to reach the xbox, since its just 300 kb/s.

So I should spend money on getting an AC instead of expecting products to perform the way they are advertised and do what they are supposed to do?

Lol, stop playing your Xbox in the oven. I've been through 2 Xbox 360's since 2006.

My second one has lasted me for the past 3 years.

Investing in AC might not be a bad idea..

Microsoft sure doesn't mind that you have bought 7 Xboxes. So complaining won't fix anything. But not living in a furnace could help.

How about just moving the xbox to the connection for the min it takes to download and then move it back? Unless ur TV is huge and its difficult to move off course...

Take your xbox downstairs for a few mins connect it to the modem and download the patch

Well all I could maybe suggest is bringing just the xbox and plug downstairs, connecting them to the internet and putting in the game disc which should automatically update. That means you wont have to attach it up to any screens or anything. Just a suggestion :)

You could always move your 360. Plug it into your monitor so you can see what you're doing, then just hook up straight to the modem after restarting it. Kind of a hassle but you'll still get your updates.

"@DCDeacon Pete Hines
@tothedogsforme No, it doesn't work like that. Installing is fine. Playing off disc is fine."
I don't think Pete Hines would lie about it. It'd be bad for Bethesda's reputation.

Wrong again! It takes around a month post launch to get a patch ready and verified to the service. The first patch which is out now IS the day 1 patch. Trust me I get all my games 1 day early and they usually have the patch ready for the previous week of a launch.

Bethesda releasing 2 patches in the same week? Yeah right! Keep feeding yourself false hope cookies.

Pete Hines is the guy that didn't know decapitation was in his own studios game. I don't trust him. He has a degree in business (lying). He's by no means tech savvy.

as I noted before, it's clear that Mr Hines was responding in general, and not specifically in the context of this fault with technical knowledge.

where I work, if we have a technical fault, we go to IS, if we want to sell something, we speak to Marketing. No different here.

Todd spesificly said that what was great now was that they could post patches very fast. If they found a problem they could fix it in no time for some reason.

I wouldn't say it's lying more like keep it quiet so that we can sell as many copies as possible. I do agree that Pete in this situation is useless, we will just have to wait and see if this really is an issue.

That's not a full system patch which has to go through Microsoft. That is basically a service built into the game that applies fixes from Bethesda server. Basically they can get around Microsoft which takes ages. I was giving an example of the full patch which has been released.

I am planning on not downloading the game and checking back on the forums launch day to see if this is fixed. If not I have a black slim so I'm not too worried. Long term I would like to install it tho.

It doesn't bother me. If the textures are a bit messed, I don't care. I don't think its as wide as people are saying, I've seen plenty of footage that was fine.

I always seem to get lucky with Bethesda games and avoid the major bugs. Hopefully I will this time.

I hope so too, I avoided most of the issues with Fallout 3 besides the game freezing every so often. Saving often and using two save files might be a good idea.

You could connect your xbox to your cable downstairs and connect your monitor to the xbox to actually see.

Also, download speed does not equal signal strength. If you get a wireless adapter it will definitely reach the upstairs, unless your floors are lined with lead?
