Well no duh. It's not even out yet.

And yet all those reviewers got to play the game just fine.

And you do know not every shop follows release dates? They get a shipment, so if it's New Stock Day, it goes on the shelves.

stop giving this guy so much hate you absolute bunch of tools. The guy has bought the game and cannot play it due to some sort of glitch (glitches?). He is completely within his right to come here and vent his frustration. You people are like a pack of rabid dogs ready to destroy anyone that says anything negative about their experience. Calm down, seriously.
Beat me too it, the OP has explain what's going quite concisely, the problem as usual is some around here don't want to see or believe anything bad about their expected game, it's going to be buggy, of that there is no doubt, a lot of people will be coming on here over the next 24 hours with complaints, the forum members needs to lighten up on them and stop acting like "word not permitted"

We've seen streams of gameplay, and read reports of many who've played the game without any of these issues. You may have to wait until the game officially launches, and then contact customer support.

Agreed. I KNOW my character is going to burst into flames and drop dead five seconds after the opening credits.

Does this bother me? Hell to the no.

Ok, why are people saying he shouldn't be playing the game untill tommorrow? So will tomorrow make it any different? I mean the game should be working, but it's not. It also means the game will still not work tomorrow. So all you brillian geniussess what will tomorrow bring that today can't?

And now, a patch shouldn't fix it, it means you can have the same problem tomrrow as well. What if all the people who will be playing crashes the servers and you can't install the patch then? Will you be happy then? OH can't wait to read your responses then.
Should a patch be released tomorrow, then YES itl be different. Wtf else would you expect? I dont know if theres a patch due tomorrow. But I dont see anyone else have this problem? Ima go ahead and say something is off with the OP's system, or hes trolling.

AKA probably USER ERROR.

Try clearing the cache and redownloading the update. Might help? Also if you have the disk installed try uninstalling it or vice versa.

I don't get why everybody seems to be bashing the OP. His game is not running as it should. He should have every right to be upset. Bethesda is not almighty. They make great games but that doesn't mean that major bugs or glitches are to be tolerated no matter what.

Sorry to hear that your game has been buggy, Bradalee. I've been playing the Xbox360 version since Tuesday, downloaded the Day 1 Patch, and it seems to be running great on my console. Haven't installed it unto my HDD. I have a friend who has done the same thing and the game gives no problems for him either.

I hope you get rid of this issue quickly, because this game is truly fantastic when it's running like it should.

Those of you who haven't got the game already: you SHOULD be excited ;-)

I totally agree: why the hell are you even playing it when it isn't 'out' until tomorrow? Game, Gamestation, Amazon, Play, probably all release these games early so that we get our copies in time for the day of release and place a little too much trust in some of it's customers to NOT abuse that trust and play the game early. If you've waited so long, will 12 more hours really kill you?

Admittedly, if the issues are still there once the patch is released, by all means kick off but at least have the sense to not complain about a game not working that you shouldn't even be putting into your dvd drive until tomorrow anyway.
Some pre-orders come a day early.

Nope, I'd try to figure out what I was doing wrong.

Would you like a run through of my actions this morning?

11:00am - woke up.
11:15am - got breakfast.
11:40am - mail came.
11:41am - Yelped for joy when i saw a skyrim shaped box.
11:45am - Put the disc into my xbox360 console (the game disc, not a developers commentary disc or any other extra's)
11:50am - started a new save.
11:53am - New save skipped opening sequence and dropped my in the middle of nowhere alongside NPC's.
11:55am - re-loaded and opening sequence worked, hurrah! Or not hurrah, it didn't let me past character creation this time.
12:00pm tried a few more times then registered here to complain/seek help.
12:34pm - Been called a troll about 67 times. Game still won't work.

And I've seen enough with issues, but just because it's not happening to one does not mean it's not happening to another, there are plenty of reasons things might be going wrong, a badly burned copy is one(I'm speaking legit copy here).

deleted

Basically.. you need to delete it all and redownload that patch. XBL has released 3-4 different versions of this "day one patch", and if you have one.. you dont get the newer version as its named the same. Since your not supposed to be playing yet, you cant complain about this practice as by the time the release date is actually reached, only the newest version of this patch will be online.

However to fix your issue do the following:

1. Delete all download/Cache related to skyrim
2. reinstall.
3. redownload.
4 ????
5. Profit.

Thanks dude, i bet it's amazing!

Bethesda make most of my favorite games so i know there was going to be bugs. But i didn't expect one that wouldn't let me progress past the opening 10minutes of the game. Hopefully it will fix itself through re-loading sooner or later.

As someone else stated, it could be a faulty DVD - as you describe it sounds like it's skipping. Have you tried and install it on the 360? Admitedly I dont know much about consoles, but would it help if you dont run it from the DVD.

As will everyone else's tomorrow When the game is officially released.

I tend to ignore people's comments about how a game runs before its even out. Because this is the internet. As in, anyone can say anything. Just because it may seem 'so legit' doesn't mean it is. Everyone should just wait till they play the game for themselves to see what its actually like. I rarely trust 2nd hand information like this. I'm not flaming, I'm being sensible.

Which doesn't contradict what I said. I'm merely pointing out that it doesn't seem to be a widespread issue. It probably is some issue with the disc(or his console), which is why I suggested contacting tech support when the game officially launches. :goodjob:

There is zero chance that game-breaking bugs at the very start of the game would make it into the final game. You either have a faulty disc or an axe to grind.
