This Game is a Buggy Mess.

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 2:54 pm

So i got my copy through the mail today from Game's pre-order service and the first thing that happened was the game totally skipped the openeing sequence and had me and all the other characters standing in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do. So i reloaded it.

Second time the opening sequence works. Hurrah! Or so i thought. Next time we get to the character appearance set-up and after i spent a while making my Dark Elf look especially handsome it won't let me progress from that screen. Oh well, time to re-load again. 6 re-loads later and it just will not go past this screen.

How the hell can Bethesda get away with such below par code making it's way into full release. It really is shocking.

Why are you playing before the release date and before the day 1 patch?

Why do you think?

Game sent it to me a day early like with every pre-order, and the day1 patch has been installed.

Not to be crass, but are you actually shocked? This is Bethesda after all. This is a TES game after all. If the game is not BUGGY, something is wrong then.

Go look in the Dictionary, and look under Buggy Games. You will see Bethesdas name right away. :P

:tes:

Joking out of the way now, I am not shocked at all. Have you installed this supposedly Day One patch. Actually it should be a pre release patch since the game shouldn't even be out yet technically. Yes I know you got it in the mail, just saying. The way the new gaming industry works, you can have a game before release, but usually now, espically on Steam you need to install a 1-3 gig patch before playing. Maybe it's like this on consoles now.

So what system are you on? Did you try to uninstall and then reinstall again? Did you clear your cache? Have you installed patch?

first complaint I've heard of it being a "buggy mess" but not many people have the game yet.

I totally agree: why the hell are you even playing it when it isn't 'out' until tomorrow? Game, Gamestation, Amazon, Play, probably all release these games early so that we get our copies in time for the day of release and place a little too much trust in some of it's customers to NOT abuse that trust and play the game early. If you've waited so long, will 12 more hours really kill you?

Admittedly, if the issues are still there once the patch is released, by all means kick off but at least have the sense to not complain about a game not working that you shouldn't even be putting into your dvd drive until tomorrow anyway.

Hehe yeah true, but i've now had to re-load the game about 10times and re-start entirely 4 times and i still cannot get past the character creation screens, and the patch has been installed.

Words cannot describe how gutted i am, would rather not have it now than have it and be unable to play it lol.

How the hell can a baker get away with such doughy bread when I'm trying to eat it before it's cooked. It really is shocking

Hold the phone there. For many of people, Fallout 3 was a nightmare to deal with. It worked well for me, but New Vegas was the only title that has given me problems on my current rig... and I mean the only one.

Remember, older model 360s and PS3s are less compatible and more prone to bugs. I get the feeling most devs test their games on the most recent hardware.

So if you're patched already, then odds are that's the source of your bugs, since that many problems showing up that frequently during character creation would've been noticed pretty early on otherwise.

a fan of skyrim and just joined the forums today........... hmmmmmm

Right, so because i'm not a hardcoe forum user i can't be a fan of the games? Righty ho.

And judging by all the troll comments i can see why more people wouldn't want to join up if this is the reaction someone gets when making a complaint.

Wouldn't you play the game early if you got it sent out to you? I bet you would.

Very true good sir, but there is supposed to be another patch to fix some bugs when the game is officially out. I just see a lot of people saying the big 'day one patch' is out and we're not getting any more bug fixes. *sigh* I should just stay away from these forums because its like 75% trolls now but, its not like I have anything better to do hahaha

Ok, why are people saying he shouldn't be playing the game untill tommorrow? So will tomorrow make it any different? I mean the game should be working, but it's not. It also means the game will still not work tomorrow. So all you brillian geniussess what will tomorrow bring that today can't?

And now, a patch shouldn't fix it, it means you can have the same problem tomrrow as well. What if all the people who will be playing crashes the servers and you can't install the patch then? Will you be happy then? OH can't wait to read your responses then.

Yeah, I was joking. Fallout 3 was a bit of a pain when I first got it, but New Vegas was fine with my current system. I expect Skyrim will have its faults, but hopefully nothing game-breaking.

As for the OP, probably a troll, but honestly, trolling is getting a bit old school these days.

Is this on the PS3? I've seen tons of 360 streams with no problems at all.

Also, forumites, stop jumping all over the man. Of course he just registered. The game he's playing is buggy. Wouldn't you go to the official forums to complain?
