Throwing spears confirmed (maybe) : V

I was just watching the Dragonborn trailer again and if you look closely at the scene with the rieklings wielding spears pay close attention to the riekling at the back. If you watch carefully you can see he clearly throws it at the player. It passes the mounted riekling and lands to the players left. So spears CAN be thrown at least by enemies. Lets just say the player can use spears. Do you guys think the player character will (or should) be able to throw spears?

that doesn't confirm the player character can throw them, we're more likely to get a 2H melee spear, seeing as we have already seen the animations.

I agree and I would actually prefer it that way. If they kept them as melee I mean. Even better if they were 2 handers.

Indeed. I didn't want to burst the Opening Poster's bubble, but I would be surprised if someone missed this the first time the trailer came 'round.

To be honest, I still have some small doubts about spears being usable by the player at all. I've been hurt by Bethesda before....

Crazy Al and I had a bit of a convo going about spears (again) before the thread was locked because of those bloody spammers. We've kinda discussed the whole concept, idea, how they'd work and our thoughts as to if they will be in or not. I won't start a whole new thread on them as IMO they've been spoken about to death, but if the interest is there then.... By all means count me in

Could it be possible, if throwing spears were included, that they ended up being used like ammo? They would be semi-recoverable and could be a new crafted item. Just a thought..

In the trailer it seems the ones throwing them carry them on their backs like arrows while the 2 handed ones are held in the hands. Notice they also stick in the ground? I know the first thing I am going to do is try and pick them up after but can't help but expect M'aiq to sneak up behind me singing the trolololol song just as I do. :confused:

I'm not a big fan of 2H weapons so I could care less if spears are actually usable but I can see them being added since DG added Crossbows.

Speaking for everybody ? No because i want the selection of both. Why would you not want something added to this game. Its more content. Why do you care if its implemented along with one handed or two handed spears. Just because they are there doesnt mean you have to use them.

I'd be very surprised if that were the case. Why would they make a completely new weapon (and waste all that money) for one new enemy who, according to lore, usually use axes and swords? That would just be plain ridiculous.
