Indeed. People's definition of soon varies massively... AND don't ignore the other fluffy word -'should'.

And the patch is out. I guess "It's never happening" and "id are just BSing us" turned out to be just a load of unmitigated tripe.

But then, we already knew that.

The update is only on Steam. I don't have any news on additional title updates. If that changes, we will notify everyone.

Oh please feel free to do that, console owners would love to hear when they could play their game again.

Oh thanks Bethesda, so basically saying screw you to all console owners? The ones this collection was targeted to? Well then I guess i'll have to say screw you to Id and Bethesda's future games. What a joke.

Are they seriously [censored]ting on the demographic that they specifically cater too? I seriously can't get enough of this .

I have no idea what to make of this at all, this is the total opposite of what they usually do. Either way its still the same old crap from them, I can say that this doesn't surprise me since I have known about how Bethesda runs their show since Oblivion and with this I'm happy I can show others the same. This is their true face, look at it!!

There's no any evidence that console versions is not going to be patched!
Most important is that patch is done! Almost all reported issues are fixed, including the ones from your videos))

Perhaps the PC patch was out first because it was rushed, to go with the source release. Give it a bit more time. A 3 or 4 day's wait even, before getting angry.

So how do you patch a console's files? The hard drive enclosures that load the files that are on the game disc?

Again I must use my negativity in one word here again: LOLCONSOLES

Since they intentionally made sure you couldnt install it on the hard drive (really dumb btw!) It will probably be patched in memory everytime it loads which will cost more resources

Someone correct me on this if this is wrong I have no idea but it sounds logical

I wish I would've known the console versions were gonna be garbage despite their whole insistence that this is targeted to console players. I own and can run Doom 3 2004 just fine. So I could've just bought BFG for PC. But, I wanted for once to have an acceptable port of Doom 3 on a Sony platform. I just hope to god they are still patching the console version. I bet you anything though it won't include a HDD install option on PS3, so the load times will continue to svck.

Saw this elsewhere:

NEW FEATURES

- All projectiles cast shadows
- Texture LOD bias added to menu options
- Added option to force v-sync (instead of “smart v-sync”)
- Adjusted default brightness value
- Shadow casting projectiles added to menu options
- Allow setting anti-aliasing up to 16x on Nvidia hardware. AMD/Intel cap is at 8x
- Adjusted range of vertical sensitivity (allows you to lower sensitivity further than original implementation)
- Added option to disable checkpoints
- Allow left/right to enter resolution menu
- Variable FOV settings options were added into the main menu
- Added controller bind options
- Added additional anti-cheat measures

BUG FIXES

- Fixed blood splatter effects break after reloading save game
- Fixed broken view nodal code that allowed players to see through the world by backing into a wall and looking up
- Fixed weapon impact effects break after using the artifact (heart)
- Fixed leaderboards to work across languages

Ughhh I should've just bought the PC version. We better get all these graphical options on ps3. Can the PS3 seriously not handle this?

I'm not sure but I think consoles have to wait longer for the patch (courtesy of Sony and Microsoft).

PS3 splits it's memory between 256mb for system and 256mb for video, so there are a coupla hard limits that are going to be run into. I believe that they already had sufficient difficulty hitting 60fps with the pre-patched version, so don't be too upset if either (a) extra options don't happen, or (b) they do happen but they cripple performance.

Extra shadow options are highly unlikely to make it to console versions. Controller button remapping and checkpoint disable, yes please. I hope online lag is fixed.
