Tired of waiting for a patch, were never getting one, Id Sof

Post » Mon May 06, 2013 11:29 am

This release has been one giant joke, and I am out $40 because of it. Another collection type release came out this month and already got a patch for some of its issues (Zone of the Enders HD Collection) yet this collection still remains broken and under par from the 2004 original. Id Software won't even respond with a timeline for a patch, looking like they just screwed us all and are just not gonna patch it.

I may be wrong but i'll believe it when I see it. As of now i've lost complete respect for Id Software at this point and I'm going to sell my copy of the game.

Thanks for ripping me off Id, I supported you guys for over 15 years.

It is actually kind of sad that we haven't really been told anything about when the patch may happen, or whats actually on it. The multiplayer is completely broken unless a patch fixes it. I have been buying Id games ever since 2004 D3, even through the flops (Quake wars). Whats going on ID? Really feels like we are being ignored. I personally would like to hear that they would be addressing a lot of the problems that I based my thread on. That, and the lag on the 360 is just DEBILITATING. It truly is an eye sore for a company that prides themselves on competitive multiplayer games, and even hosts a huge event around that idea. (I'm looking at you QuakeCon). Yeah, it seems impatient what you are saying Decayed, especially for a matter of special effects(from what I have read of your posts), but what really needs to be addressed is the broken multiplayer. And from what it sounds so far Decayed, they are focusing on single player bugs.

I knew something was wrong with this release the moment I heard this was announced, and my skepticism paid off.

Hello disappointed post-fans of lazy, smelly ID team.

I got ripped off tremendously as well, this collection is just so $#@! up. If I tried to conceive a @$# up port of doom games it would still be better than this one. Wrong in every aspect possible, bugs everywhere, downgrades everywhere.

That's it, I am selling the game just like the Decayedmatter. Id gave not response whatsoever to so many posts.

And you're going to stay tired because any patch will be released when it's ready, not when you want it. No matter how much noise you make on forums (and how many threads have you started over this now?) this is not just about you.

So let's give you a choice.

You can have a partial patch now that just fixes a handful of things, leaves other things unfixed, and hasn't been tested.fully. How would you react if you got that? My guess is that you'll just start up more complaining threads.

Or you can wait and get a more full and tested patch at a later date.

Which do you pick?

Guys, like I said in the last thread you can not rush this, give them the time they need to do a proper job this time around. Of course they should have done that with the game itself instead of wasting time and money now on a patch.

I never bought RAGE and I don't know the drama surrounding it, but from the sounds of it they still haven't learned to stop listening to Bethesda. I don't know why they are even listening to them after RAGE, I was under the impression that Carmack apologized and said he was going to take the reigns again from them, or maybe this didn't count as a full project like Doom4 will be.

Thank you very much Gstaff. It would be extremely nice if they could give us an idea of what is being fixed on the patch. My main focus is multi player because it is completely broken and unplayable (PC Platform). Single player has bugs I agree but the game is still very much playable. Please focus on the main issues first and then work on the minor bugs after.

Thanks!

give them some time , you act like its easy as 1-2-3- to patch the game and mod them up for all the systems, dont rush them , if its so easy to do why arent you working for them, stop B!TCHING , the game is far from being as broken as you claim it to be

I have no patience because these glitches and issues were discovered in mere days after it came out, there's no excuse why Id Software allowed this game to ship in this condition. Face it, they knew these problems existed and thought their customers were stupid or had low standards and would just accept it being shoveled to them in this state.

So yea, I am impatient because i'm sure they knew about these issues long before the game even came out. They get zero patience from me. I paid them $40 on good will alone thinking they would respect me as a customer and not deliver me a product thats worse than a version of it from 2004.

I don′t know what glitches and issues you might have found because i didn′t notice them (or didn′t search for them) but again, just have some patience and play the 2004 version with HD mod, FFS!

if i had to blindly guess why some of those details are missing it might be because of the 3-D option, they probally look like [censored] when playing it in 3D so they removed them, so instead of making a non 3-D version with the details you speak of, and the 3D one they just made the one version to be used for both, and while the 3D is cool , Most of the buyers are not even going to be able to play it in 3D, i sure have not and i probally will never get to

Stop taking this personal. It is absolutely normal that games get released with known bugs.
This has got nothing to do with developers making fun of their customers but with tight time constraints enforced by the publishers.

The games industry is not just about designing and programming a game, it's also about selling it.
This includes marketing and distribution.
Putting this all into a working package is problematic and sometimes (if not often) leads to flaws in the final product.

This is not just a problem for game companies but for every other company too.
Especially the automotive industry suffers from that when they have to recall their sold cars for fixing braking problems for example to prevent accidents.

people cry about the damnedest things anymore. Man... I wonder how all these guys would have held up back in the early days of gaming when there weren't patches. I remember waiting months and years for patches on certain games without ever the slightest bit of certainty or hint of them coming.

They've confirmed a patch in the works, they've shown menu screenshots of the changes said patch will be displaying, and yet people STILL can't show any patience.

Do you want them to release a shoddy patch? You you not prefer they take their time with it and try to get as much resolved in the first hit?

If I send you $40 to cover the cost of your game, will you stop whining?

Seriously.

Enough already, dude.
