Too much make-up?

Post » Mon Nov 28, 2011 1:42 pm

Seems like every female in skyrim has loads of makeup on, yet walks around in rugged, dirty clothing. That.. doesn't make any sense to me. ANY woman would rather buy a good weapon to protect herself or even better clothing or armour rather than makeup.. at least in skyrim. of course I'm just assuming makeup exists in the tes universe and the usage of it is widespread in skyrim.

Please don't start with the whole "DURRRR DURRRRRRR IT'S A FANTASY GAME!" load of [censored]. ever heard of suspension of disbelief?

EDIT: Oh god I messed up the title
I meant to say "Too much make-up?"

Riddle me this: Which would you rather look at:

I rest my case.

Your generalization overwhelms ...

And publicity screenshots for a game in which women who don't look like they've been beaten with potatoes are a "feature," are publicity screenshots. Besides, if times are hard, you'd expect women to wear cheaper make-up--which tends to be less subtle. ;-)

DURRRR DURRRRRRR IT'S A FANTASY GAME!

now thats a troll bump.
But any whoo. i agree there needs to be a more rugged look to them. though its kind of a nice change of pace from the plastic look of oblivion. it looks a lot more rugged than it could be.

Whoever designed the looks of the women in Skyrim, has excellent taste in women. :) I think there really attractive and fit nicely into the Skyrim theme. My wifey is obsessed with Mac makup, so it doesn't surprise me that women would choose makeup over clothes.

All the girls I know spend all their money on weapons and armor, just like normal female would do. Then they go to the club with a full steel armor.

TES did a game with no make up, it was called Oblivion and yuck. I'll take a trashy bar wench over a homely chick anyday of the week. anyways it's not far fetched seeing how:
The first archaeological evidence of cosmetics usage was found in Egypt around 3500 BC during the Old Kingdom. The Ancient Greeks and Romans also used cosmetics.[5][6] The Romans and Ancient Egyptians used cosmetics containing poisonous mercury and often lead. The ancient kingdom of Israel was influenced by cosmetics as recorded in the Old Testament—2 Kings 9:30 where Jezebel painted her eyelids—approximately 840 BC. The Biblical book of Esther describes various beauty treatments as well.

This. And natural makeups made from stone and berries and such have a staining affect, they stay on really really well. :P

I want an attractive character. It's a fantasy, everything is slightly exaggerated to make the experience more enjoyable.

I just don't think any warrior woman in skyrim would even bother with makeup.. I mean this isn't a barbie beauty contest, it's a battlefield. Mage women with makeup are rather acceptable but warriors is another matter.

So all men should have long unkempt beards because they should rather spend money on weapons and armor than on expensive shaving equipment?

IN SKYRIM.

Is she also going to make useless troll posts on bethesda forums?
It's your game so don't expect me to care about your playstyle.

Are you implying shaving equipment is nearly as expensive as make-up?

Shaving equipment is null when you got yourself a whetstone and a pocketknife! :)

Or a sword. hilarious to see someone shave with the flanges of a mace.

Huh, what? I don't shave my "other regions" in real life and neither do most other men.. not that I would know from experience, I just looked up statistics.
