I have no knowlage of portugal. Show me a nice place to walk and you have my interest.

That is mostly what I guess people around the world think about Portugal eheh. Well, there are beautiful places in here... Maybe hidden and not that much, but there are some. The places I like the most in the country are probably in the Northern part (more mountains, colder places, less mediterranean feel). Here are some pretty places:

Some from the islands, A?ores and Madeira respectively:

I don't know, kind of hard to remember from the top of my head, but there sure are some nice landscapes. Some beautiful cities too, and plus, the food here is great! At least I think so:D
ps: sorry for shamelessly "advertising" my country here eheh
I still think it's rather sad that NZ is now synonymous with Middle Earth considering it was supposed to be a sort of "English epic". :(

Well, had I known how beautiful NZ was prior to watching Lord of the Rings, I would want to visit it nonetheless. Those are seriously some of the most stunning landscapes I have ever "seen". Don't really think of it as a synonym, just joking btw. The fact that the movies are majorly located there is just a "detail"

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm not dis'ing New Zealand's scenery at all: I'd love to visit myself and nearly put it on my own list, but figured I'd go more local first! Northern Europe first, then the rest of Europe, then the world! Possibly.

That's a tough one - there are loads of places I haven't been yet that I hope to visit. Off the top of my head:

Vietnam
Japan
Australia
Peru
Finland (only if Troyatz lets me crash on her sofa though)

Yeah UK food in general is bad. Italian food is best imo.

Why visit some of those places ?

China has an insane government, and poverty.
India has even worse poverty.
Russia has lots of neo nazis apparently.
Well, they have interesting architecture, history and culture. I'm not going to be wandering round slums, any more than people go to London to see the tenements. I'll just avoid criticising the Party, drinking the water or looking communist while I'm in those countries.

Win! You can't beat a good roast that's been cooked properly. Though I do prefer Italian food, quality English is cheaper than quality Italian.

A question for those wanting to visit the U.S.; what states to you plan on going to? This is a big [censored] place and the terrain is as varied as the people and the food.

Only an insane government will effect a country more than a few chavs, and lots of people living in poverty is something I doubt people want to see, and there is plenty of poverty.

Also by visiting china your supporting their economy, helping their government. Its funny people complain about China then do business with them.

I thought cavemen are extinct.

None really. I'm not a huge fan of travelling because I'm not a very social person. I'd love to have been born in these places simply because of their music scenes though

France (especially)
Sweden
Norway

I wouldn't move there now though because I'd fit in there less than I do here.. Although I'm not sure how that matters to a hermit like me.

Edit: Forgot Germany

Japan for the video games.
North Korea for their "backward" ways.
USA - Las Vegas. I really would like to see Penn & Teller live.
Iceland, would be cool to meet some relatives and to check out some of my roots.

Can't think of a fifth place I would want to visit..

-Australia. For as long as I can remember, this has been my 'thing I have to do at least once in my life'.
-Italy. For the history, the sightseeing and the food.
-China or Japan. I once dated a Chinese boy and he made the country sound fascinating.
-Norway, Sweden or Finland. I'm not picky, they all sound great.
-Ireland. That's the closest one to me currently and a friend from uni wants to go too, so we could end up going in the summer.

Oh, God, he's not trying to exhume that one again is he?!

You didn't buy me a pint when I was in Ireland! I'm outraged!

This was back in 2001, mind you.
