Unofficial Minecraft Thread 62

I only ever tried an underground tree once, and it worked. I did extend grass down to the cavern floor before doing so, so that could be a key component. Robbio might correct me, though.

I dunno, back during the Vault RP on the 1.7 map (or was it 1.6?) I grew that treefarm underground without grass, just gave it light, dirt, and bonemeal.

It is just me but I don't have fun playing this game anymore. I have not played seriously since the server was reset due to many issues of lag and what not. It has lost its charm should I wait a year or two?

More like a month or two. Trust me, you will have the undying need to explore and build whatever you want soon enough. Just ignore the game for a while.

I have not seriously played since June I don't think a month or two will do it. Every time I try to play it is just boring.

no you must return in about a month, it shall be fun. we finally got a rp rolling and now that 1.0.0 is out we should not have to worry about changing maps any more once bone gets back and we get on the dedicated server. we've got things like an arena tournament, werewolf games and a daily lynch mob.

Was wondering if there is somewhere I can download the Aldgate map? I would really like to check the place out, see if I can figure out what it is that I miss from that map.

Thanks.

Also, the Yogscast Interview with Notch is probably one of the most awkward interviews I've ever seen. Simon and Lewis are natural conversationalists, while Notch......well....he's not the world's greatest interviewer, and most of his jokes just fall flat.

Yeah... And then Notch thought it was a good idea to talk about doing Simon's mom over and over.

The XP orbs, yeah they seem pretty useless still but at least they now level you up (I'm Lv.14 :) ), yet that does nothing but show a number every few kills

I'm scared to dig up, there is lava like things dripping from the roof, does that mean theres lava on the above floor

You use them for enchantment.

Fire Aspect II for the win, I light mobs on fire when I hit them, works very wel with my animal farm.

When we reset the map when Bone gets back, will we be keeping all the land we've claimed on this map, or will we have to claim new land?

Also -Skooma, Retro, Kaelin and Sky- if you guys could PM me times when you think you'll be able to be online, that would be great. I want to try and finish the tournament before we switch maps.

Well, you know how any interview with the Yogscast tends to go. It usually stops being an interview at about 0:15.

Anyone want to help me make a Spleef Arena next map? I have enough gold ingots I think to buy the land, just need some man-power.

Can someone remind me the currency units again? Here's what I believe was the case:

1 gold ingot = 50 septims
1 square of land = 1 septim

So if I were to have, say, 200 ingots of gold, that's 10,000 septims, enough for a 100x100 plot of land. Correct?

Then it just depends whether all plots are similarly priced, regardless of where on the map they are, or whether that pricing only applies to Empire-controlled lands. I believe it to be the latter.

In any case, I've gone ahead and updated to 1.0, so I guess if I want back on the server I'd have to rollback for now. Which I won't, because you server-folk are all backwater hicks that need to get with the times. :P

How will the new map be economically wise?I am guessing use of gold bricks to buy things. Any other implementations that I should know of? Also , am I the only person who plays on quake FOV? It feels natural to me.

i want it to be so that people can sell other resources like iron and diamonds to the empire, gold is too specific. and the whole iconomy thing is allready becoming irrelevent past buying a plot since no one really has enough money to run a shop (cept for game, that crook) so there is no trading.
