Are we? I didn't think we were. We certainly don't have any system of government or building regulations that a neutral spawn is useful for.
Sorry that was meant to be a question I forgot the ? mark.
We don't have any RP going on in the Tekkit server, apart from me saying profligate now and then and Default has only 3-5 members and they aren't all on at the same time.

I don't think there is much of an RP at this point, most people have stated that they prefer to build on their own and occasionally cooperate.
Any RP we have is going to have to come about naturally I think, people don't seem to like it when its forced upon them. I'm happy for things to continue as they are as long as everybody else is happy. Eventually we could come up with some new RP even if its just a simple thing to start off with. Something simple like all coming together to worship Cthulhu on thursday in the temple we'll work together to build.

I enjoy RPing, but what I don't enjoy is being pidgeonholed into one. It's why I always took a side in the RPs. If you decided to 'play bandit' just because you wanted to be on your own just building, you came at the risk of theft and property damage. Really, I feel if people don't want to mess with an RPG, they should be let be. That said, I would like to see another bunker/Vault RP.

Yes, like I said, people don't like having the RP forced upon them.
One more thing, why haven't I seen you on the tekkit server yet Justin? Are you having trouble with the launcher or are you simply not interested?

Yeah I'd like to see something happen naturally, heck I'd just like to know where every one is lol I see the odd person wander by my little island after they spawn and that's it. We should come together to worship Caesar every day and donate diamonds during July :spotted owl:
What I've noticed is, the coming together to hunt Blaze is easier than being done alone :P

I would like to see another bunker/Vault RP.
I would like to see this since I wasn't there when it happened before, don't know if people would want a repeat though. Plus making good looking triangle tents is hard when al I have is square :pinch:
..... Unless I make them on a 100x200x125 scale :D .... Nahh I won't do that, think of the work!

Ehhh, I was never nuts about Tekkit from the getgo. After the initial curiousity of what it does, I just didn't care. After getting one of those furnaces that cooks materials faster and a handsaw, those were the only materials I needed. Tekkit is mostly about industrialisation, I was more interested in building. Aside from Marble, and handsaws to narrow down blocks, I just didn't find Tekkit all that useful, in fact, I found it detracts from the point of Minecraft. I may one day reinstall Tekkit, but for now I'm just using the vanilla server.

This makes me sad. I obviously prefer tekkit or I wouldn't be using it, but I will spare the arguments in favour for now. I just miss a lot of the people that used to play.

Why don't you download that techniclauncher.exe that's somewhere about here? That way you can play on both servers freely, its what I'm doing now I fixed the launcher. If you get the crashing messgae just delete the .techniclauncher file and then re-run the .exe (you will need to wait on it re-installing the folder content) and you're sorted again. You should come on but just ignore what you don't want, I've been doing this happily - though collecting [censored] loads of copper/tungsten and silver

- If I find the .exe file I'll send you it, though I may need my normal laptop since that has it.

It's the difference between a happy concerted effort on one single map, or split efforts that are more likely to leave one map or the other wanting more.

They'll want as much attention as you want to give them. I just don't see the appeal in sitting on a server that's empty.
Even at that it's giving yourself the options, the launcher will give him the options and it'll minimize the need to install mods manually (which he doesn't know how to do very well). Then by using the TLauncher on the default map he will have access to the minimap and a few other client side options which will ease the gameplay.
I see having and running Tekkit via the launcher as a win win even if you choose the Default map over the intended Tekkit on. Every man's his own though :)

Hey justin, the handsaw mod now has a lot more options. There are like 200+ blocks you can make now from it.

All the different indirect sizes already existed, it's just a lot easier to make them.

Building a house of wood is sooo much faster than stone, http://i485.photobucket.com/albums/rr212/Qeros/mc1.png.

So I understand we're moving maps when 1.2 somes out. Regarding the Default server, do we want to have a starting point near some of the new features, like those jungle biomes, or a mountainous region to take advantage of the new height limit?

A network of treehouses and stone temples could look nice.

Is that on a server? Just so, you know, I can uhm... inspect it. With a little bit of flint and iron in my inventory. For good measure.

Is the map getting reset on the Tekkit server as soon as 1.2 is out?

Just been looking at the new features on 1.2 and since jeb took over these changes seem a lot better from when notch was in charge

Yet 1 modder can add more to the game in a few months than Notch and Jeb have in almost 2 years. Sad really.

Just made a plugin for the server forums that makes your avatar, if you haven't uploaded one, your minecraft skin's face. Threads definitely have more character now.

I take it you're learning more and more about programming software?

well its been about a week now, and ive done pretty much every thing i can think of (besides covering the entire map with torches, but i would get bored long before i could complete that), so i think my testing has proven that our server can take as much of my insanity as can be thrown at it.

Notch should hold monthly modding competitions with cash prizes for the winner. Every three months or so he can add all the winning mods to vanilla. Mods would be judged on their utility and their adherence to Minecraft's current aesthetic and spirit.

Thats slightly understandable though when you look at how much free time a modder has compared to how much time an employee is in the office. The modders work freely and to their own objectives, employees have set targets and standards to meet. A modder works for the love or even hate of the game, an employee may just be working for the money. Plenty of factors show why modding outputs more and IIRC Mojang only has like 12 employees and not all of them are dedicated to Minecraft, I'm sure the minds behind Technic/Tekkit/RedPower etc are far closer to 20 and beyond if they are counted collectively.

- I've calmed down from my tantrum yesterday, I now plan on building something fancy besides a daft island farm.
- I still don't even know where the hole I died in was, and it was right next to my island as well
