What is Minecraft?

Minecraft is a creative sandbox game centered around exploration and survival; exploring and gathering resources allows you to protect yourself against a variety of beasties that hunt you down during the night. The creative sandbox elements of the game fuel your want to survive and gather, which in turn allow you to build many wonderful creations. Basic fluid physics also provide interesting means of creating basic machines.
The multiplayer is very similar to the single-player, just with more people and chat, TeamSpeak has also been implemented for both servers.

Tekkit is currenlty not whitelisted, but may soon change to forum registration whitelist.

Email mrtankjump -at- gmail -dot- com ,message 'mrtankjump' on Steam, or simply send a PM to mrtankjump if you have any issues accessing the server.

Colored Titles Explained:

Purple = Admin [Aedra]
Green= Moderator [Mod]
Yellow = Donator [Jarl]
Grey = Default [Citizen]

The cost of the new server is $75 monthly, due by the 6th of each month. Some really awesome people help support the costs each month. You can be awesome too: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_donations&business=F9AK9VK9NYXD4&lc=US&item_name=TESFan%20Server¤cy_code=USD&bn=PP-DonationsBF%3abtn_donateCC_LG.gif%3aNonHosted
Donators who use the same email address with paypal as is registered with the forum will become 'supporters' as labled on the forums and in game, automatically. Those who don't want to use the same email can simply contact mrtankjump with the details of your transaction and I will make it happen.

Due to an increase in donations, we can consider upgrading memory for another $25 monthly. This would give us 16GB total, and each server would be running on a ramdisk. Bar any network issues, chunk loading should be instant when on ramdisk. Let me know what y'all think, as long as the money can be put up for it each month, and it is something the community wants, I'll make it happen.

Yeah, I can't promise anything, but depending on how things go after Basic, I wouldn't mind pitching in some donations once I stabalise a budget and et cetera.

New wood colours, that could be handy for making houses with different coloured walls and rooves.

Arg, I used single player commands to teleport to the middle of no where and then big a deep pit . . . and then I stupidly updated Minecraft so SPC no longer works.

Thankfully I was able to build a staircase out and it only took about five minutes to find my railway, but I feel like an utter dunce. Probably worth it for the new sandstone and wood blocks though. :smile:

FYI peeps: One of the mods for the vanilla server (The "Dream World" mod) is slightly broken - in the sense that sleeping in a bed will transport you there as intended, but leaving the Dream World using commands like /home and /spawn WILL leave your inventory wiped clean. And so, you have two options if you want to sleep in a bed:

1) Get rid of all your items into a chest, then sleep and you can use the commands to get back.
2) Jump off one of the floating islands, and you return to the real world.

Or 3) Whine for the mod's removal.

This is completely off topic. I just thought your post needed this: :cool:

Does redownloading the launcher from the sidebar not solve your update failed problem? It’s possible that this can be caused by your antivirus. Software like Norton and AVG very commonly block things for no reason, and often in silent or hidden ways that make setting the launcher as an exception difficult. If you haven’t done everything you can to diable your antivirus from blocking it, please do, and if it still doesn’t work, get a better antivirus we beg you. Microsoft Security Essentials and Avast are both free, much better, and play nice with the launcher.
If you are absolutely sure you have disabled your antivirus correctly in the past then take another look. Redownloading the launcher means there’s a chance that your antivirus thinks it’s a new thing, so even if you’ve got it working in the past, it might have reset and will need to be set as an exception again.
Also make double sure that you have gotten rid of your old launcher file. If after all that it still doesn’t work, go to your .technicpack folder and back up your saves and texture packs. Then delete the whole thing + the launcher exe/jar and do a clean slate.
If after that it still doesn’t work, then it’s probably Java and you’ll have to take your problem to the forums for aid.
Really though. Just get better antivirus please. AVG and Norton are crap and 50% of the issues people report are caused by them. Java is the other half but we can’t do much about that.

Courtesy of PapaFern

Go to the technic site in the OP and re download it.
Don't forget to delete your existing .techniclauncher folder in AppData

- Simple fix, dont know why they blamed the anti virus

I had to poke around with my firewall to use the launcher. Cheap Shot stated in the article that it might be a problem if the reinstall doesn't work.

Looks like the Yogscast is about to implode.

The Voxel Box admin also involved, by the looks of it.
