Unofficial Skyrim DLC Discussion - Thread #10

Post » Wed May 02, 2012 6:58 pm

I remember that a lot of the DLC from Oblivion was actually referenced in the basegame files. At least all the ones for new houses--the Wizard's Tower, the Vile Lair, the Thieve's Den and Battlehorn Castle (though under another name) had references in various places before they came out.

OTOH, the big stuff, like Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isle weren't.

Personally, I'd be happier if they just spent time enriching the game as it is, rather than sticking in whole new realms and places. I'm hoping that the new DLC will be a biggish quest but with a bunch of fixes and additions across the board added.

i really hope SOMETHING is revealed, and not more dishonoured news, it looks a good game but Im all about skyrim at the moment, and just scouring the net for tinyest scrap of legit information. to get something solid from the virtual horses mouth, would make me smile from toe to scalp.

Guess what?

Bethblog let out some new dishonored screenies earlier today but nothing on Skyrim.

Bad priorities Bethesda.

true, I would love to be able to build my own house, im an xbox player so cant mod, got loads of items, armours masks etc that i would love to display but most of the houses only have 2 manequins, and a couple of display cases, i would love a whole hall devoted to displaying the treasures i have collected, and the dragon priest masks, i would love to display them,

I just want them to make skyrim better rather than bigger, more smithing options, how about being able to smith followers, like sphere's or centurions, be able to craft furniture for your house,

also most of the houses in skyrim have an empty room, why not put a forge in there, I know alot of this stuff is available for the pc via mods, but if dlc were to make console players be able to use these things, not the whole creation kit, but just some of these things be features in future dlc.

just a thought.

Indeed, I hope there'll be room for a peaceful way. I'd love to help them. I don't mean that any bellicose option should be exculded of course, because pacifism must be a choice, and for a choice to happen, there must be various options. I rather hope there'll be room for the pacifists, for I think Skyrim suffers from an immense lack of non-lethal endings. Pretty much every quest or dungeon delving leads to a fight and pretty much every fight leads to a death...

I mean I hope that the DLC is about helping them get their race back to the way it was. if we are left with multi choice with a decision so massive as choosing whether a race is cured or left to rot it would be lore breaking for the next game as many players will have chosen differently.

Ah, but remember that they told us last week that we would hear something this week.

As we were supposed to hear something in april + pete and Gstaff telling us that they would have more for us this week...
I figured we would have a good chance of hearing something today, being the last day of April.

Check back this Saturday...May 5th.

Isn't the civil war quest line similar though? Only one decision will be considered cannon, the other will be nothing more than a 'what if' that you were allowed to explore.

Is there any particular reason why may 5th?

Besides the fact that it is the last day of this week :P

exactly the same thing, except this would be bigger. but the thing is the civil war will most likely be minor background knowledge in the next game while choosing whether the Snow elves live or die is basically choosing whether a race is in or out of the next game. if the DLC is about snow elves after all I don't know. but like I said I sure as hell would rather we saved them, it would be nice to have a new(Old) race added to the game. :P

Yes. Maybe Stendarr's Hammer could come back?

Also, I would like to do quests for the other Divines (including Talos).

Spoiler
I think that only Kynareth, Mara and Dibella have quests related to them in the game. So there is room for six other questlines

Also, I would like to have more quests and lore related to the Gods who are specific to the traditional Nordic pantheon : Tsun, Stuhn, Jhunal, Herma-Mora, Mauloch, Orkey, Ysmir. The lack of those Gods in the game is really disturbing to me.
Spoiler
There is already a quest for Kyne in the Game.
Ysmir is Talos

Maybe they are waiting to announce all the DLC's at once, like rockstar did with red dead redemption? its possible they are waiting until they have all the ideas for DLC's in place. and while the first one will most likely be almost finished they may not have all the Ideas sorted out yet.

If that's true we will hear about the dlc's sometime near the end of 2013.

No new races, sorry.

All races in the Elder scrolls universe are already accounted for :)
