Unofficial Skyrim DLC Discussion - Thread #10

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 3:26 am

I know people say that this shouldn't be in the game but I would like to see the ability to reset all of the spent skill points. I am level 68 atm and have put about 6 points into skills that I don't use and wish I hadn't lol be nice if they could add a book or something to reset it.
i agree

Ok so this is my HOPE and speculation for skyrim DLC So I think it will be based around destroying or at least pushing the thalmor out of the empire and other provinces so the first would possibly be hammerfell due to the fact that the resistance is still going strong I would also think it would be interesting and a nice background story if in each add on there is an arena system where you proggress through the ranks and move to different provinces but I'm getting off topic second could be anything but hopefully High rock or Morrowind and help the resistance but if it's morrowind you could help free the dark elves from the new arrgonian rulers or vice versa and the 3rd and what I think would be final add on you could take the fight back to the mainland of the empire and take back the imperial city and I wouldn't think the would put ALL of the oblivion map maybe just half of cyrodill. Also as I said before in each add on there could be an arena and you beat the hammerfell arena for example and you can continue fighting in that arena till the nex expansion pack and so on and eventually become grand champion of tamriel. ( side idea maybe going to Azuras realm) but yeah that was my two cents :D

@squiggs, i don'ty think Azura's realm would be a good idea. it drives mortals insane, or makes them half-blind due to too much beauty. Bethesda might have trouble with that. unless it's done to turn us into Sheogorath

Oblivion also did not have an open gate with an invisible wall.

Also was thinking that they will do this because they have said that they want the dlcs to feel more like expansions.

The gate is there because you can, in fact, travel between the provinces. It would make less sense for there to be no road, no route whatsoever. The extra land is almost certainly not for DLC.

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1368013-so-i-just-visited-morrowind-in-skyrim/page__fromsearch__1

Not only that, but you wouldn't need a place-holder for DLC. Bethesda can just add it wherever, whenever they like. This whole concept of "placeholders" in the game is ... well it's simply incorrect. Bethesda puts filler terrain in their games so that it looks right. That's, It.

DLC is extra contend added later.

That would be the logical answer, but...

no problem. i'd love to see Moonshadow (Azura's realm), but visiting it without harm (like in shivering isles) would be a lorebreaker. unless the player would become half-blind, which would make gameplay difficult. perhaps only temporary blindness, as the player's dragon blood could partially protect them. it would be cool to see how the devs make it.

or, you wear magical ray-bans that protect you from the pretty colours

They still need to make silver weapons and medium armor to be improvable. I would love that Idea of rebuilding Helgen, Winterhold, Solitude etc. and building your own house.

-much more mariage options, including the next,
-MUCH MORE Argonians and Khajiit.Seriously...
-More Deep, detailed Cave Systems like Blackreach
-Werewolf forms that reflect Racial features, including Argonian Werelizards and Khajit Werecats
-More character creation options like Hairstyles, tattoos and scars, and the ability to change facial features AFTER chargen.

Just a few of my thoughts, probly mentioned before, but meh...

I want replayability. I want plenty of new unique items to go out and find in the world, and I want to be able to spend my gold. After you get all the houses and all the best gear there's really nothing left to spend your gold on, which in turn makes dungeon delving pretty boring and unrewarding, that is something that has to change in my opinion. And I wouldn't mind having an arena with endless waves and its own online leaderboard, and also have it to where you cant use your own gear in the arena(to cross out those crafting abuse super characters), but you are given gear to start out and survive with.

Been a while since I've posted any of these, so what the heck? These are in no particular order.

1. Increased Smithing capabilities, including the ability to create faction specific weapons and armor (unenchanted) at the headquarters of each faction, as well as the ability to make arrows, clothing, and staves.
2. Expanded marriage options.
3. Increased ethnic and racial diversity throughout Skyrim.
4. Increased spells, and scaling spells' damage/effect with levels.
5. Voice support for all systems.
6. Expanded Guild questlines.
7. More Shouts, a Thu'um skill/tying damage to Speech, and overhauling certain Shouts to be more like the ones dragons have access to.
8. Werewolf overhaul (monthly transformations, skill tree, etc).
9. Economy overhaul
10. The ability to purchase land, build settlements, and own businesses.
11. The ability to tell followers to move somewhere.
12. The ability to make it so followers don't unequip everything when they leave your services.
13. Stronger dragons with an increase in the variety of Shouts they have access to.
14. Horse overhaul.
15. Seasonal Foliage.
16. Footprints (let enemy AI utilize this to find you).
17. Divine quests.
18. Vampiric overhaul (multiple types of vampirism, etc).
19. Pets that actually stay at home.
20. Unique Sneaking animation for Khajiit that makes them sneak like cats do in real life.
21. Ability to change certain facial features after Helgen.
22. Ability to perform jobs, such as the Nightwatch for Hold guards.
23. Ability to rebuild Winterhold and Helgen.
24. Ability to acquire more perk points after hitting level cap.
25. Ability to disguise yourself with faction specific armor/clothing. Armor/Clothing having unique properties outside of enchantments, cosmetics, and stats (think Red Dead Redemption).

I've seen a lot about the snow elves on here and Im not sure that would be a good idea I mean looking at it from a environment stand point we already have tons of snow in skyrim we don't need a new snowy place it would be too repetitive that's why I would think hammerfell or a land with a varying landscape.

I used to want a new landmass, but now I think I'd be happier with something in Skyrim, tie up some loose ends and such. The Falmer seem like a good place to start. Aside from the Dwemer, they're probably the biggest mystery in the game (and largely unexplored.) I'm gonna jump on the bandwagon and say that I'd love to see some "untainted" Falmer. It seems doubtful to me, but I suppose I want to believe it. :P

As a side-note, if there is to be a new landmass....Please, please be High Rock.

I wouldn't mind if the DLC took place entirely underground, in a huge falmer cave system, like Blackreach, only much larger and more epic.

Gods above... I would hate that so much. A giant cavern of pretty and fighting things. And that's it. It'd be totally pointless to me.

Give me settlements. Give me towns. Give me people and shops to interact with. Give me different topographies and landscapes. The last thing I want is another giant cave that really offers nothing but headaches and giant mushrooms.

Nobody probably cares for this but I want a proper pet system, the dogs are kind of bland. I want a wolf, a frostbite spider, a fox, something with more personality than those ugly long-haired mutts.

I think they could do the Falmer cave but not as one of the BIG add ons for those I would hope for new land mass each I would say they could add a Falmer story line in a small add on such as in FONV the gun runners arsenal although this would just add a cave or a small island of the coast of skyrim perhaps as opposed to fallouts weapon pack.
