I just want a quick opinion on how my laptop might perform. The 310m was listed in the "low" setting of the mobile GPU part of the post, but that was assuming 1080p correct? Would I fare better since I'm stuck with 720p at a lower resolution? Or should I just stick with getting it on a console?

Core i5 2.53 GHz
4 GB Ram
640 GB HDD
GeForce 310m
That one is "Low" at any resolution above 1024 by 768. It's really a terrible thing.

Hey all, ive been looking at my pc lately and im wondering if i will be able to run skyrim on mid-level graphics.

since ive seen the minimum specs and the recommended and my laptop seem fine, its just my graphic card which annoys me as ive looked it up on geforce wiki, and it says it has 512 mb ram, however with this scan i get 2.18 GB.. cus if i have 2k then its more than enough for a pretty awesome skyrim experience...but if i only got 512 its gonna be some low end gaming... anyone who can clear this out for me? :D thx in advance! :D

My System Specifications

Operating System:

Windows 2.6.1.7600 (win 7)

CPU Type:
Intel? Core? i3 CPU M 330 @ 2.13GHz

CPU Speed:
2.15 GHz

System Memory:
3.93 GB

Video Card Model:
NVIDIA GeForce G105M

The only nVIDIA anything that is WORSE than a G 210 / G 310 is the G 105. Forget about Skyrim!

Hi there, what are your opinions on my laptop being able to run Skyrim!? The problem is my Video Card.

You Have: Intel® HD Graphics (i3)
Required You Have
Video RAM 512 MB 1.2 GB
Pixel Shader version 3.0 4.0
Vertex Shader version 3.0 4.0

I've failed the "can you run it" due to my graphics card, is this accurate :(
This time, for that poor excuse of a video chip, they are correct.

Hi I've been reading through this forum and have a pretty good idea of the requirements. Now 2 days before the release I am curious to see your opinion.

i7 2630QM 2.0ghz
4GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM (Upgrading to 8GB DDR3 1333MHz soon.)
Plenty of HD space.
Nvidia GTX 460m 1.5GB GDDR5
1600x900

Planning to run it as high as I can on 1080p, thanks!

Solid medium with bits of high.
It would be high but you only have dual core processor.

Not sure, cuz you havent told us the resolution you intend to play on, but it should be possible to play on medium settings.

You left off the screen resolution, quoted a nonexistent Main Memory amount, and also forgot the VRAM amount. IMO, the GT 520 is pretty bad compared to anything else, including the graphics systems offered by gaming consoles. I doubt that your card will be able to offer an image quality exceeding what will be available on the consoles, if you have a High Resolution screen, at least not to a degree readily recognized by most people.

Hey guys, you must be sick and tired of asnwering "Will my PC..." questions, but so close to launch, and with so many doubts, I can't help it.

So here it goes:

My current specs:
Intel core 2 duo E8400
Corsair 2x2g pc2 4200
Diamon HD 4850
1920x1080 monitor
I guess I'm in the low-medium section partly because of CPU and GPU.
Would I be better off getting it for Xbox?

Now, if I were to hypothetically upgrade my GPU to one in the top 20 of the "Ultra" section, how bad would my CPU drag me down? Which category can I hope to fall into?
Would I be better off getting it for Xbox after an upgrade?

intel core i7-2600 @3.40GHz
6GB of RAM
Win 7 64bit
Intel Integrated HD Graphics

Not sure what exact type of graphics card I'd assume the one that goes with the 2600.
Also I dunno what resolution I'd play on either does it make a diffrence?

You'll do fine at medium with a good framerate, which will look better than xbox. A GPU upgrade to one of those top 20 cards would bottleneck your CPU. It wouldn't be noticeable in games that only utilize 2 cores, but with newer titles and more cpu intensive games (like Skyrim apparently) you will see some performance loss as opposed to upgrading your CPU to a more modern quad-core. Your graphics card is still fairly decent by more recent standards, if I had the choice I'd rather upgrade the CPU in this instance. And thats only if you want to run the game on higher settings. It will still play fine as is.

If you're using the integrated Intel graphics on the 2600 I'd advise you get a graphics card, otherwise you're looking at staying within low-low/medium.

I'm reposting my specs this time from the actual website hopefully this is enough information, I'm not very good with computer information and specs and just want to make sure I can run this at the very least a medium setting

Operating System Genuine Windows? 7 Home Premium (64b)
Processor Intel? Core? i5 Processor 2410M
Resolution LED HD Slim
Screen Size 14"
Graphic Memory 512MB
NVIDIA? GeForce? GT 525M, 1GB
Standard System Memory 6GB DDR3
Max. System Memory 8GB
Hard Drive Capacity 750GB
Screen Resolution right now is 1366 x 768, but i would probably go 1280 x 750 if it will make the game run smoother(does lowering the screen res make it run smoother?)

Agreed, but updrading CPU usually means upgrading mobo and all that comes with!

Most likely you're looking at medium, probably high settings at your max resolution.

True but if you shop smart on like newegg you can get a good deal on CPU/mobo/ram for roughly about the same price as the latest high-end graphics card.
