Unofficial "Will My PC Run Skyrim" Thread #52 w hard

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 7:56 pm

Hey everyone. I preordered the PC version, but wanted to make sure I shouldn't have gotten the Xbox version because my system couldn't run the game well.

If I can only run on low-medium, I may consider getting the Xbox version. I'd like to run it on High...

Here are my specs:

Windows 7 64 bit
Processor: AMD Phenom II X6 3.2 GHz Processor
8GB System RAM
ATI Radeon HD 5770

Thanks for the help guys.

I think that the jury is still out, and wide-ranging benching hasn't yet been done. These APUs are mostly being marketed in low cost Laptops that don't attract the performance crowd (including the web sites that specialize in benchmarking articles). I think that both Anand Tech and Toms Hardware have done some, but just now, I cannot recall the results. You didn't name either your screen resolution or the Turbo speed (or lack of it) of that processor, so why don't you add those details?

Okay, sitting on my preloaded Skyrim, not being able to handle the time until tomorrow, here are my specs:

AMD Phenom II X4 955 @3.2GHz
6GB RAM
Slightly tuned Radeon HD5850

Because of my pretty "old" monitor I'm locked to 1680x1050.

Win 7 64 bit
AMD Phenom™ II X4 955 Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.2GHz
4096MB RAM
GeForce GTX 460

I have 2 pc's with these settings one of them has a 1366 x 768 monitor and the other one has a 1650x180 monitor.
Can i run this game on max or do i have to play on high?

Got some concerns with my setup... I ran the anolysis on canyourunit. com and it failed me on minimum... here's my setup

Win XP SP2
CPU - 3.2Ghz dual core
RAM - 4Gb
HDD - more than enough space
Video Card - Radeon HD3850 256Mb

The video card is where it faild, but the original thread with all the video cards lists mine as medium to medium-low. It is slightly overclocked, so all this being in mind, should I try to upgrade my video card? Is anything else an issue? If it can run it, would it really be worth it to drop $200 on a new card that could run this on High/Ultra? Thanks for the input!

yes my res standards are low what matters to me is character details, lighting, draw distance (VERY IMPORTANT)

so what you think can my PC pull it off wiith great FPS ???!!!

PLZ SAY YES

I could NOT find a GTX 560ti in ALL lebanon and I can't pay for the 400+$ cards now.

I think you might be able to max it if your resolution is around 720p.

I'm cool with that ty for the reasurance

I was really bummed when I could only find the GTX550 Ti :(

but I guess I can upgrade later to a wayyyyyyyyyyyyy better VGA

and I'm gonna get 4 extra GB RAMs after a few weeks

so that is 8GB RAM which is more than enough for gaming

I don't really want to play on the lowest of low settings. I was just trying to get a confirmation on it being able to get to medium I guess. A new card is a last resort option pretty much saved for if this game just won't run at all or at crappy FPS.

Hey Dudes,

I have a Query. I`ve got a Geforce 8500GT 512MB card. Will I be ok? I don`t want to shell out on a new Graphics card,
because I can`t afford it. If anyone knows of a cheap card(GBP) though that is good and reliable then let me know.

What is "OK"? That was a comparatively Low Quality card five years ago, priced to fit between Low End and Medium, but actually closer to being Low End, so a console will be a better choice than it is, IMO.

I'm sure you can find it in Tig's list in the opening message of the thread.

Can someone please check mine

Windows 7 64 bit
i7 2600 @ 3.40 Ghz 3.70Ghz
8GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce GT 440
Plenty HDD
(Also I play Morrowind with a 1600x900 res 16:9 Aspect ratio)

if I left something out tell me as im just guessing whats relevant based on other posts (like if there is anything else I need to check before an upgrade)

oh and I did check on the Game-o-meter site but alot of people have said that alot of those sites are unreliable (I don't know why)

anyways the results on the gameometer site showed that my processor couldn't be any better, but my graphics was between the minimum (leaning towards min.) and recommended requirements

In your case, YouGamers' results aren't far from where I'd put that GPU, myself, the lower part of medium, normally (at your resolution, I'll give you solid Medium across the board). Game-o-Meter's hardware people usually know what they are doing. It is SR Labs ("Can you Run It") whose results are frequently bad. However, this year, for this game, once again, Bethesda is giving out nonsense for the official minimum.

I already posted my computer stats to ask how well the game would run, and luckily I got a high/ultra!

But, would getting more RAM would make much of difference in general gameplay.

Here are my stats again:

Windows 7 64bit
Intel Core i5 2500 3.3ghz
PNY Nvidia 560ti 1gb
4gb DDR3 1333mhz

Would getting 2x 4gb chips make a difference?

Thanks!

not unless you have tons of other programs running in background using memory. since it's only a 32bit exe, the max amount of memory the game can actually access and use is a bit over 3GB so don't worry about it.
