They have mentioned something about it (SLI) but nothing has been confirmed so far, that I know of.

Thank you kindly. :)

So definitely get this on my laptop over the 360 then? I want the best visual experience over mods or anything else. If I want replay value I will rebuy this game after making my D3 rig.
ya, at the least you will be equal to them because supposedly you cant do any worse then the 360. And I look GPU mainly and Mraz scenario will most likely happen.

search is your friend. ctrl+f :)

Medium to Low-Medium Levels: Mostly cards from years past, but they've still got some power in them and wth the right tweaks, should be able to enjoy Skyrim. The X360 rough video card equivalent is a X1800XT, but it does have a strong CPU. Still, should give some idea where you stand. The PC game is still worth getting even with these cards IMO, but an upgrade would be a good idea too. The 512MB version of cards are going to fair better than the 256MB of the same card....we'll see when the VRAM requirements come out how things stand for the 256MB cards. These days, you should have a card with at least 512MB of VRAM though for a game like this that can be texture-heavy.

If you get decent quad core, that shouldnt be any problem.

Ok I really want to get the PC version of Skyrim because I've always played the Elder Scrolls games on the PC but I'm not completely convinced that it will work (even after systemrequirementslab.com said my laptop is slightly over minimum settings) and the rating on there does not tell me exactly how well it will run and I don't think it factors in the fact that this is a laptop. So, I basically want a second opinion and I would like to know just how well it will play on my laptop. Also, would it run better on my Xbox 360 even though the xbox is about 5 or 6 years old (maybe 7) and only has a 10 gb hard drive? Anyway here's my laptop specs:
Toshiba Satellite L655
Processor: AMD Turion™ II P540 Dual-Core Processor
CPU Speed: 2.4 GHz
RAM: 3.7 GB
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit)
Video Card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Series
Sound Card: Conexant SmartAudio HD

Why not? I got 1.2 GB of graphic card memory and the render engines should be good as well?

As for the processor, I migh overclock it a bit, I will play with open windows anyway to feeling like in the cold tundra of skyrim, so that should just do it.
I guess the weakest point is the RAM?
I′m already leaving 160$ in the store for skyrim, I′m willing to pay more. Just gimme some suggestions.
The VRAM is essentially meaningless. What counts is core speed, RAM speed, number of shader processors, and memory system bandwidth.

Yours has the power of a Radeon X1600 or a Geforce GT 220. Both are now in the Low End zone. Right now, after rebate, Amazon has the Geforce GTX460 on sale for $106.

Ok, here goes. I'm hoping someone can give me some good(ish) news.

I've been debating about getting for PS3 or Laptop but would prefer PC based upon controls, mods and to pass the time on my many long nights in hotels with work. The PS3 however would go nicely with my 7.1 amp! Anyway - will this PC run better than PS3?

Win 7 Ultimate 64bit
i5 M520 CPU @2.40GHz
6gb Ram
WD Scorpio Black 500Gb via SATA 1.5 Gb/s
GeForce GT330M (512MB Dedicated, 3319MB shared)
1600x900 native resolution Monitor (1366x768 native TV)

I'm happy to run at lower resolution of needed as my laptop screen seems to scale well and I will be playing on my TV when at home.

So what are my likely chances running this?

Cheers

that 330M GT is not really a gaming card.

MEDIUM/LOW: These cards should run Skyrim, with the right tweaks you could probably get them to look as good as the console version. The farther you get down the list the closer you are to low end.

Honestly, not a chance with that GPU, plus its a dual core processor with only 2.4 ghz, if you will be able to run it it would be the lowest of low with that GPU.

Should be solid low.

Keep in mind those mobility GPU's especially the older ones are not even capable of running Minecraft.

CPU : AMD Phenom 9750 Quad-Core Processor

RAM 4.0 GB

Video Card : ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series

resolution: 1920 x 1080

Thoughts ?
Your display is way over the top for a Radeon HD 4650, which is now only a Low End card. If you don't know what you have, it's surely past time to either learn or to replace it. An HD 4670 is not yet Low End. It is and was a great deal better than its little brother. But it's still not a High Resolution card, so unless you reduce that, Low Settings.

I'm sure it's there. It's not a "true" gaming card and isn't intended to be. It's a "Budget" card for gaming at lesser settings than a Mainline (Medium) card. I doubt it is powerful or fast enough for all settings at Medium at a Medium resolution, and no better than a mix of Low and Medium at High Resolution, but you didn't name any screen resolution yet.

Please don't waste our time blathering about a site so worthless as SR Labs. They are wrong all of the time. This game will require an actual video card, which you don't have, but SR labs is just too stupid to know that.

You won't have TOO much trouble running at medium-low settings at that resolution. That card runs games like Bad Company 2 at around 30fps, for comparison. You would be able to get better performance out of a DX11 gpu as well, but not much you can do there with laptop hardware. To answer your question it should run the game better than a PS3 if you can get a good framerate. It will at least look better.

Thats what I was fearing about the 330M. Unfortunately its a work PC so I couldn't really swing a gaming graphics card. Maybe next upgrade.

Thanks for breaking the bad news lol.

They're not as bad as he said. The 330m was packaged inside most of the last gen Alienware m11x laptops(I had one), and it ran games like Starcraft 2 at medium with good framerates. I had it hooked up to a 42" 720p HDTV. You should be fine.

He's laptop is good, but the GPU is really, really poor no way he can pull off a medium settings on 1600x900.

How's this rig looking to run Skyrim on medium at 1680 by 1050 resolution?

OS: Win Vista 32 bit
CPU: Intel E8400 (dual core) at 3.0Ghz
Ram: 3Gb
GPU: GeForce 9800 GTX

The 330m isn't that bad... And its packaged with an i5 instead of a Core 2 chip so all the better. My laptop was 330m + Core 2 duo.

If I could play Mafia 2 on Medium-High with decent FPS, he should be fine playing Skyrim on low-medium.

Darn...guess I will have to buy a new hard drive for my xbox 360 since I only have a 10gb...which means I may have to get the regular strategy guide instead of the collector's edition...anyone know if the collector's edition strategy guide has anything other than the virtual map and if the virtual map is really worth paying $13 extra?

My personal opinion of the Geforce GT 520 is relatively poor. It isn't as good as the GT 220 / GT 320 (basically the same with two names), although is isn't as terrible as a G 210, not quite. I think it will be at least as good looking as the Xbox 360, and as long as you don't choose High Resolutions or collect numerous performance robbing graphics Mods, it would still be better than the Xbox.
