I want a castle

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 11:19 pm

I'd love to have my very own castle.. Not something massive, but roughly twice the size of Proud spire manor., with all the various "player craft-able" stations.. An armory with at least +8 mannequins.. That sort of thing.

I'd pay $ for it to.

Oh yes, I loved the Castle in Oblivion. It felt good having my own place complete with soldiers and all kinds of awesomeness. I do hope they implement these ideas. :tes:

Say what you will about the DLC′s for Oblivion, but I had a blast with Battlehorn Castle

Absolutely, I love Battlehorn Castle. I would like my own fortress with my own battalion of plodding grunts once again.

I dont know, to me, it just seems like this game is perfect for it, especialy since there's cities like helgan and winterhold that need rebuilding, and plenty of places in the pale, ir islands in the icefields, ect, that it could be put at. I hope they do something like this.

I would like there to be castle. But not as a stand alone DLC it would be great if it was included the big expansions that Bethesda promised.

I have a ton of loot that I would love to be able to display, but the current housing just doesn;t have enough room. Bah! A castle/mansion would be awesome

I'm liking the idea of rebuilding Helgan. You could turn it over to the Legion or Stormcloaks if you wanted, with you being in charge. Or you could turn it into your own bandit/criminal homestead with you getting money from their nefarious deeds. Or as something which would make me love Bethesda until I die, let us establish an Orc Stronghold if we are one or blood-kin.

i didn't think of this till the other night, but they should have mannequin heads. i have some one off helmets that don't really go with armor that i'd like to display. plus with circlets, just seems like a good idea.

The castle in Oblivion was fantastic. I hope for the same here. If nothing else hopefully the modders can come up with something for the PC users. Unfortunately my PC aged out and I'm on the Xbox with this one. Not complaining because it's still fantastic but I do miss the ability to mod and use the console especially when I get stuck in the terrain.

thats fantastic, you could have the remnants of whatever side you defeated in the civil war attack you sometimes. that would make hiring guards and soldiers for rhe castle alot more fun. especially if you could equip them yourself.
Good idea. Perhaps after you are away from it for a certain amount of time a runner catches you, gives you a letter informing you of an imminent attack from a bandit horde or or maybe members of the side you didn't join or something. You rush back to prepare the defenses.

Or you don't or if you don't make it in time or have to retreat than at some point you get to go and retake your castle

Brilliant; and after retaking or defending your castle, you could spend money on repairs and rearmament. That would certainly solve the issue of having too much money and not enough to spend it on

I'm liking all the ideas i see here, i just wanted a place to show off my stuff really. but setting it up with trade, and building it up to your own design, and taking the time to craft and equip your people would be awesome

If you are on PC there will no doubt be mods for that or you could make one yourself with the CK

I plan to add a sub basemant to my Soiltude house with the CK that does pretty much that. Has a large room with 10 mannequins, 10 display cases, a cage for 10 virgins etc

The creation kit will be out soon, my friend ...

... I built a huge castle using the Morrowind Construction Set.

Funny how everyone bashes the Oblivion DLC yet the homes were really fun and had useful traits (alchemy herb gardens in Wizard Tower DLC?). Plus they are REALLY cheap yet everyone complained about greedy money grab. I mean seriously, put down your Communist Manifesto, get a job and enjoy life the way it was meant to be (work hard, have fun).

After running through Blackreach today for 2 hours, admiring the beauty of it, I decided that I want to rebuild the lost Dwemer city and have the castle/debate hall (place with the big orange globe) as my own personal (perhaps even under-underground) castle. The waterfalls, the plants, the EVERYTHING about Blackreach completely enthralls me. I go there to explore even when I already went through it. I believe it is truly the crowning jewel of Skyrim's dungeons.

Cannot agree more with this.

I never saw all the houses in Oblivion. The house in Anvil did the job, nicely. I did get a house in Bruma, as well, but that was about it. I should probably get and get them all

It's such a shame that console users won't get the construction kit.

Yea actually I always saw the Oblivion house DLC as a gift to consolers. All PC users could just make or download a mod house, but at least on consoles you had the different House DLC instead of nothing, and they were useful! The guy that sold arrows in the Pirates Cove house DLC was really useful for any archer type as he had much better arrows for sale than you could find anywhere else.

I'm sure there will be DLC at some point that will give you a massive Dragon Fortress. Untill then however, I find that Proudspire Manor and the Markarth house tend to have a very castle-like feel to them. They're also huge and come with your own personal knight. :P
