My 2nd playthrough I most defenitly am going with Energy weapon's for my charsimatic high speech gangster build. Just so I can get my hands on the sick nasty Laser RCW & straaaight muurder my way through robot police and take Vegas for myself & replace the robots with mobsters!

With PC mods of course of course, but it will be done.

I saw the .22 Pistol in a stream of the game and it looks exactly like http://bdwoodturn.com/pics/newMKIII512.jpg so its definitely a pistol inspired by a Ruger. (Its got a nickel plated barrel, black grip exactly like the pic I provided)

So it looks like your dreams can true friend. :tops:

Do want. I actually have one of those, it's a lot of fun to do. No more shooting tin cans or milk cartons for me! Going to take down a whole mutant ambush with only that. Watch and see!

Primary: Cowboy Repeater
Back-Up: The Grease Gun
Sidearm: Ranger Seqouia
CQC Weapon: Lever Action Shotgun.
Other: Some grenades.
Ammo: I want to at least leave about 70-80 lbs worth of free space. Gonna try to make every shot count.

Primary: #1 Fully modded silenced Assault Carbine #2 A fully modded sniper rifle of some kind
Backup: Fully modded silenced SMG of some sort or the 9mm SMG compact grease gun.
Sidearm: Fully modded silenced 9mm pistol
CQC Weapon: I dunno probably a fast melee weapon like a combat knife
Explosives: All kinds of explosives including C4, frag grenades, frag mines, pulse grenades and later a missle launcher if I have the strength to use it.
Ammo Carried: All of it!

My first character is going to be Gun's, Sneak, Explosives tagged with repair being a priority along with putting a few points in survival here & there. He is pretty much going to use as many supressed weapons as possible and explosives (a lot of explosives :]).

So you spent all that time asking for a Tommy Gun and its not even in your Loadout?

I need to add that to mine.

Edit: Jesus, Miltiades is on a role. 4 locks. You almost have a Predator Missile!
Edit 2: 5... BOOOM!

Crossbows! Aye or Nay?

Whole heartedly agree. They have a standing in one of the inspirations for the game - Mad Max - and they would allow some cool gameplay mechanics.

Do crossbows fall under small guns, throwing, explosives, big guns, melee, unarmed, or energy weapons categories?

Maybe a gas propelled harpoon would be more fitting?

I like to travel light so I can pick up more things to trade so my load-out will be:
Primary - Cowboy Repeater or Recharging Rifle
Sidearm - 9mm Pistol
CQC - Machete
Explosives - C-4 x3, and Detonator
Hidden - Straight Razor
Ammo - 4 reloads of primary, 8 of sidearm.

I will be a warrior monk. No gun, no horse, no equal.

Wander, work, rest when I can. That is the way of Kung Fu.

Well that can be one of my characters.

I'm definitely bringing over my STALKER character from F03.
Primary: Assault Carbine, Gauss Rifle
Backup: 12.7mm SMG
Sidearm: 9mm pistol

As for explosives and melee, I'll just use whatever I can find.

I just found a gameplay vid where the guy was cheating with infinite ammo/all items/maxed out SPECIAL. I managed to pause the inventory on the Laser RCW after some trial and error. At 50 Energy Weapons skill and max condition it does 102 DPS. Ammo cap is 60 and it is unmodded. Hopefully there will be mods...But still, it's a badass weapon.

It does 102 at 50 ENERGY WEAPONS?
In fallout 3 the Gatling Laser only did 128 at 100 energy weapons.
Holy [censored] that thing's a beast. I hope we can rename customized weapons so I can call mine a Neutron Disintegrator.

I just found a video of a dude killing ghouls with the single barrel shotgun. I have never been more excited for a single shot weapon in my life.

Would I get in trouble if I said who has the video on youtube? He's got a few more and the new weapons look NICE. Recoil and ironsights FTW!

Okay 1, a "high powered air rifle" will not kill anything bigger than a squirrel. The "high powered hunting rifles" are 1/8 the power of a .22.
High powered pellet rifle= 5 grains at 1200 fps
.22lr= 40 grains at 1200 fps
9mm = 123 grain at 1200 fps

And my friend has been shot in the calf with a hunting pellet rifle. It just went in about 2 inches and loged there. He had to go to the hospital, but just to get it out. He could still walk. My best friends cousin on the other hand, was killed from a .22 bullet in his skull from half a mile away. The .22 still svcks though, but a bb gun is NOTHING.

I ran the calcs through an energy calculator and to get the same energy as a 158gr .357 bullet, a 7gr pellet would have to travel at 5500 fps. Pellet Gauss Rifle?

Going that fast even dude, you aren't accounting for the little weight it has. If it hit anything metal it's gonna stop. No inertia. And if it went into a person it would still just make a tiny .177 cal hole. And would be extremely innaccurate.

Why are we still talking about the BB gun? If you want something low-powered and effective use the .22.

Can't wait, wish I could go get it tonight, but I have a field trip then rehab, so I'll be playing at about... 4:30 PM.

Primary: Grenade Launcher
Back-Up: Grenade Rifle
Sidearm: Grenade Pistol (If it's in game, if not I'll mod one.)
CQC Weapon: Ballistic Fist.
Other: Grenades.
Ammo: Multiple variants of 25mm and 40mm grenades.

Basically I want a high END character, that doesn't have to rely on the Grenade Machine Gun, and thus doesn't have to put a load of points in STR.
