And. I think we all should

The Headless Horseman was pretty cool, the Falkreath advisor is a reference to Galadriel, Whiterun resembles Edoras from a distance, Sheogorath references the Shivering Isles MQ.

I dunno if I should do this because these are SPOILERS and it`s selfish to ruin someone else`s gameplay just because you had to tell them yours.

So anyone not wanting stuff given away don`t read below...

Encounters I`ve had:

1. Bumped into a woman who wanted me to use my Wabbajac on her, but I`d sold it.
2. Met a guy who gave me something and told me to keep quiet or he`d kill me. Then someone else asked if I`d seen this guy and I said `No`, but he found him anyway and killed him... Which made me nervous so I quietly left.
3. Met some Imperial Guards on the road who were fake, Nice touch.
4. Met a woman on the way to some quest, but she wouldn`t let me help her (fail persuasion). But I liked it.
5. Met a woman who had just escaped bandit slavers and asked for my help giving me their location.
6. Met highway man who tried to steal off me.
7. Met wandering boys who said they`d show me a new dungeon if I paid them- and they weren`t lying this time.

The random events if you explore just keep coming. It`s one reason why I don`t FT.

The only ones I've had are
Thalmor excorting a Talos worshipper
Imperial Guards excorting a stormcloak
Drunk Revellers who gave me alcohol.

I have encountered several in your list, but this one was nice. I just sold whatever he gave me though, considering it was a useless piece of junk anyway. I never heard from him again. Guess he got himself killed. :)

Oh yes, I`ve seen that too. that`s the stuff mainly on the road. Some of the other stuff you have to go off the road a little.

That`s the beauty of these encounters they aren`t always exactly the same.

Actually I have seen the Vagrant one as well where the hunter asks for his item back, the random events are one of the best things to be added in the game.

I think the actual owner of the item is supposed to reach you about a second later.. At least this has happened to me both times I've seen this encounter. "Have you seen anyone going past here? He stole my stuff!" You can either lie to him and keep his stuff or tell him the truth and kill the thief with him.

The only encounter here I haven't seen is the woman asking to use Wabbajack on her. o_O Would be nice to get it done. Note to self: once I do Sheogorath's quest with my current main character, I ought to keep the staff in my inventory!

I, too, like those encounters very much! Also the conversation choices can change depending on what you've done in the game. The highway robbery one can have two new choices if you're in the Guild, for example.

I've also seen Stormcloaks escorting a Legion hostage... And numerous battling ones, everything from wolf chasing a fox to Vampire Mistwalker vs. A Vigilant of Stendarr vs. a Boethiah Cultist three-way match. I quickly turned that into a four-way and it was epic! Something like my third gaming day and first high-level vampire I've ever seen. Had to hide from him numerous times, swim across the lake to escape him, etc. Also found the Cultist's book...

The Highway robber is the only person I've encountered who actually surrenders and goes back to normal dialogue

I also remember an Old Orc asking me to kill him and a random orc trying to sell me drugs outside of Dragon Bridge.

Honestly?
The place is huge, the Labyrinth itself is indoors though and better be ready for some Snow Trolls.

When you bump into a prisoner being escorted you can go into sneak and get an option to pickpocket or release their cuffs, if you are after a little mayhem.

Yes, I have. It's not that hard to find, you should look
Spoiler
around Morthal
Didn't go in yet 'though, because I think there's some quest related to it.

About random encounters and easter eggs, I've seen quite a few:
- headless horseman (three times by now)
- tree stump with a fallen cup and ants marching on it (presumably attracted by the contents of the cup)
- ye typical three Imperial/Stormcloak/Thalmor soldiers with a prisoner (once, three Imperial soldiers with a Stormcloak prisoner marched right into Winterhold >_< Real smart)
- ye typical noble guys travelling the roads with a guard
- Khajiit caravans, either at a city or running/walking along the roads
- normal courier, or Stormcloak courier (once, a Stormcloak courier ran past Whiterun, heh)
- ice mage fighting against fire mage (seen it twice by now, the first time a stupid assassin suddenly attacked me while I was watching)
- after doing Sheogorath's quest (with a few references to The Oblivion and Shivering Isles' MQs), I met a woman along the road who constantly said "Wabbajac, Wabbajac, Wabbajac". Didn't really know what to do with her. (didn't carry it either in my inventory, sadly)
- Highwayman who demands for money and valuables (multiple times)
- Highwayman who turned out to be an alchemist? His body still lays on the road where I killed him.
- Fugitive woman who asks for directions to the nearest town, and gives me the location of some bandits
- Mercenary going to stop "some trouble" somewhere nearby. I asked once to help her, but my persuasion wasn't high enough. Still didn't do it yet.
- Vigilants of Stendarr fighting against some skeletons multiple times. Vigilants always won.
- Vigilants of Stendarr fighting against a group of high-level vampires near their nest. Vampires won. Then I got my ass kicked a few times before I decided to blast off while healing continually.
- Farmer with a painted cow going to "appease" giants nearby. By all means, follow him if you never did!
- On that note, I've also seen a giant walking closely behind a painted cow ...
- A guy running up to me, giving something and threatening me to not tell anything about it. Ran off again, and from that same direction (they ran next to each other at a certain time) someone else came running up to me, asking whether I had seen this guy. Seeing how the other one dared to threaten me, and gave me something I couldn't use at all besides as a burden, I immediately ratted him out. the it was like "Ha! Found you!", The first guy chickening out (he didn't seem to even carry a weapon with him?) and being made into a sifter by the other guy's arrows. me and a guard ("This should be fun!") stood there and watched it. ^^
- Fake imperial guards (also multiple times). Damn hard, these opponents.
- a toll bridge, manned by bandits. Well, not really a bridge, but heh, they still asked for money. I didn't like the principle, so I went back a bit and looked for another way to get there. Wanted to finish a quest first before taking them on, I was already carrying too much loot with me.
- A carriage clearly attacked by Falmer
- an abandoned camp of adventurers who left some kind of journal, stating they wanted to put a stop to all those attacks on the road (probably kinda related to the carriage)
- a random fort I walked in, where I met a scared adventurer fighting off a "special" spider, who remarked the whole fort was filled with them before running away like the wind.
- a lighthouse with a gruesome scene and a nice sidequest. I felt with the inhabitants 'though.
- and I'm going to stop here

- ah, and maybe also some bugs, like a sudden dead Hargraven falling on the ground before me, a noble guy on his horse floating in the air going up and down fast before disappearing in the distance (came galloping down the road again a few secs later), mammoths falling from the sky, ...

/edit: which makes me remember, concerning mammoths, I've also discovered a frozen mammoth in Ice. Also an easter egg.

Yes, I`ve seen that. taken right from n almost identical story in Morrowind.

In Morrowind I said, "I`ll kill you for you if you insist!" Thinking o the kit I`d get off him. Yea, right.

He wants to die, but he isn`t going to lie down and let it happen. After being beaten to death about 4 times, I left him standing on his own feeling sorry for himself cos no one was capable of killing him.

Never did get back to him. Must check out Morrowind to try again one day...

I think everyone has covered most of what I have seen.

I stood on a bridge one day and watched a bear fishing, Then I guess a mud crab got him cuase he died and started floating down stream.

Anybody encountered the simpleton guy practicing with a magic staff? It's possible to buy it and he will comment "I used all the charges anyway so it's worthless" but it's actually full.

There are many such threads on this forum:

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1327504-strange-encounters/

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1318866-things-you-may-not-have-known-part-2

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1332507-secret-places/

I just thought I list those threads here, because they all hold some interesting info!

I'm on my 3rd character and I still discover new things.

* After you get Esbern and Delphine into Sky Haven Temple, you can get the Dragon Slayer blessing from Esbern. Yesterday, I asked him for the buff for the first time (never did that on my other toon) and then when I slew a dragon, I was prompted to return to Esbern. He then brewed a potions made from a dragon bone and a scale, which should have the same effect as his blessing.

* When you enter Alftand through the glacier, you will come to a set of three pistons located on your left, after you come out of the icy tunnel. They are set up in a "stair step" fashion. Jump on the first one and get pushed up, then jump on the 2nd, then the third and then jump on the stone ledge in front of you. There are various potions on a small table and 2 chests (one left and one right). Before you do this, kill the spider worker on the right though, just across from the pistons.

* Generic thieves will spawn in Riften at night (not sure when exactly that starts). You can kill them without getting a bounty. Good for harvesting souls for black soulgems LOL Also, they carry some cool loot. You can find a lot of nice gems on them, gold and silver bars, oh and I use the Candle sticks they stole to decorate my house. LOL

* I came across a burned down house and the burned corpse was holding a "summon flame atronach" scroll LOL

Last night around the outskirts of whiterun I came across a skeleton arm in a dried up lake holding a dwarven sword towards the sky ala the lady of the lake from Excalibur.
