Ok, I don't know if it's just me but would anyone else like to see wendigos make an appearance in TES?

Why not? We've already got werewolves and vampires. The wendigo could be the chosen of Namira or something

Not to mention, minotaur's, centaurs, dragons, goblins, orcs, elves, giants, trolls, imps, harpies and a heck of a lot more creatures who Bethesda have borrowed off of folklore. I think just about anything is fair game.. cept maybe Father Christmas.

It's not like Wendigos would break lore, they already have a cannibal aspect to Skyrim if you do Namira's quest.

Except it hasn't appeared in any lore before now, and we've seen Namira's followers before...

I could see them being something more to do with Hircine and possibly local to Valenwood myself.

We had never heard of Grummites before SI.

I'd actually imagine them being more related to the forsworn, since they have a more native american clothing style

BINGO!
I agree - it would be something to add to the Forsworn.

They're a very close second to the Falmer in terms of repulsiveness and wierdness, so it would fit from that point of view as well.

I honestly think Wendigos would make awesome encounters for Skyrim. Your just trudging through the forest at night and in the distance you hear the bottumless stomach of a wendigo off in the distance that slowly gets closer...

Because their exclusively in the Shivering Isles. If hungry cannibalistic spirits were running amok on Mundus, there would be some kind of literary or otherwise mention of it.

I for one would LOVE to see that. I pay a lot of respect to the wendigo legend. A lot of truth to it when interpreted correctly and I could see it in Skyrim, definitely.

We've allready seen the Hagravens pervert the human body with black magic, in the form of the Briarheart. So summoning, I dunno, perhaps a daedric spirit and having it possess a worthy forsworn is conceivable. It could be a level above Briarheart, and it could wield extraordinary strength, and powerful magical abilities. Maybe a unique spell to them, like the Vampiric drain for Vampires. They should have their own kill animations if they kill you too lol Maybe they pounce and rip your throat out or something. But Yes I think this a brilliant idea.

you forget there are places that some people just don't go, for all you know they exist in the darkest depths of the world, in caves, in ancient slumber till a time when they can return and once again feast on the flesh of the living, perhaps they are a machination of Namira or cursed worshippers of Hircine. The books in Skyrim do not cover EVERY mystery there is to know. If they did there would be no surprises to anyone lol They'd just accept that the dragons were back etc.

also consider that maybe they don't "run amok" as you put it but instead exist very rarely in the forests or maybe the mountains like the Wisp Mothers (which creep me the hell out lol) and anyone who is found like half eaten in the woods is just assumed to have been killed and eaten by animals, bears or sabre cats or something :) Open your mind, a lil imagination never hurt anyone haha. :)

They'd be perfect for late night encounters when your not expecting them to stalk you from behind the trees

I think they should add more... Creepy, or scary things. Early in the game a bear is scary enough but later... I want to hear a screech in the middle of the night, as I'm walking on the Roads of Falkreath. Get my heart pumping

Thats why we need Wendigo's stalking the forests looking for people to munch on

oooo OR BANSHEES! Like the wisp mother only they absorb health and demoralise any followers oh and they could drain stamina too! They could be heralded by a sudden appearance of Mist then a heart stopping shriek. All the animals in the area would run like hell too haha.

To me Wendigos are scarier then Werewolves or vampires, they want to consume you entirely.

Yeah.. I think the suspense factor is lacking in Skyrim.

You need to be scared to travel at night
