How can something break lore if it hasn't existed in the lore yet?

I like them, but then again I liked how Marcus looked in Underworld Evolution, it looks to me Bethesda ripped the appearance straight out of that movie which is fine I am just curious how these new vampires will fit into the lore.

Same for werewolves too, sort of.

I like temporary transformations too, but I'd like a totem of Hircine or something that you could select that would forgo your howl powers in favor of letting you use the powers button to transform back and forth at will, so if you wanted to you could play the entire time in a transformed state.

For me, I just like the way my characters look too much for permanent transformations hahaha,

Yeah, I spent way too much time in character creation to spend all my time in first person, let alone have a permanent transformation. I'd just like to find a way to do away with the arbitrary time limits.

The picture of one looks like a mutated gargoyle from the old Disney show Gargoyles to me. I want that vampire lord to be with Lisa Moza or Demona, but a mage! That said, I like how they look. Besides, I can't complain about a picture of something that is part of a DLC. I'll wait and see instead.

Vampire Lord, like many other existing vampire media was inspired by previous gampire media. I think once you get to see it more clearly though you will see that we did put our own spin on it. I can understand some of you wanting something very different but is it any different than the fact that our regular vampires have the same look as existing vampire from popular media? (vampire eyes/vampire fangs/bloodsvckers) how is that really any different? That being said, I do not think you guys are wrong in wanting something totally different looking but we felt this direction was a good fit for what most people would like. Fear not though guys and gals, they have some really cool powers and if your still not convinced, you can always kill those dirty bloodsvckers

It's different because the lore-determined characteristics of the Volkihar vampires are completely absent while these new vampires have never been mentioned in the lore before and they get their own DLC. Why rip pages from your own lore to make room for something COMPLETELY unoriginal?
It's like an original idea for vampires (the Volkihar) and how they look and act was completely tossed out in favor of a more cliché, mainstream idea that seems straight out of a popular movie...
C'mon guys, you can do better. I made a suggestion a couple pages back of a cool way to implement the Volkihar that would've been lore-friendly and an interesting gameplay mechanic. Not trying to say "omg my idea is the best ever," just saying it seems logical given the backround lore of the Volkihar, the ability to make enemies spawn from world items (like Spriggans and trees) and the interesting gameplay it would add in. It would've been lore-friendly and fun, yet the Volkihar we have are just the Cyrodiil strain with a different name. Why?

People complain too much becouse they didn't get what they wanted/expected.
Of course i understand that some movies kinda broke the fascination about vampires for some people but like vsions said, there is alot more content than just the vamp lord. That trailer was just a glimpse on what may be in the expension. :starwars:
I for my part really like the looks of the vamps and i'am looking forward to be one.For everything else we just have to wait and see. Thanks Bethesda for this neat looking stuff you're giving us gamers. :thanks:

As I've said before in other threads, it's not about the vampires themselves, but the message such decisions send.
Skyrim HAD vampires: the Volikhar. Come time for a TES title though, they're suddenly missing. Yes there's vampires named Volikhar, but they act nothing like them.
Meanwhile some strain of vampire that conveniently looks like vamps from a popular movie pop up, and these get their own DLC.

It's called selling out. The existing TES lore is being neglected whereas an idea perceived to be popular with the general population is being forced into TES with a crowbar.

So according to you, there aren't allowed to be any new additions to TES because it's 'selling out'? You have NO IDEA of the backstory behind Vampire Lords. You have NO IDEA of what sort of lore they're including with these new creatures. And yet you've made up your mind that Bethesda is 'selling out' and ripping off some movie or another? Talk about narrow-minded.

I, personally, think they look pretty cool, but will reserve my judgment until I actually have my hands on the DLC.

It looks like the TES Vamp Lord is not very original and to be honest looks way out of place in a TES game. I would have rather they had gone with something like the succubus in TES Battlespire. At least that would be Lore friendly.

I think this DLC will be great, and so what if they are inspired by recent media. Everything does not have to be an alien version of something that already exists. That is just asking to much, and to most people it would not even be appreciated. I for one don't need to see a new type of vampire. The ones that have already been done are great why change it. For the record I actually like the Ann Rice vampires the best, but I am not going to complain because these don't fit that. I respect that they work hard on this game and this is their vision, so I will see what they do with it. I also agree about the wings, the gargoyles wings would have been nice or just something more substantial but what are you going to do its already done.

PS: I hope some of those cool powers are available in both forms.

Yea does seem they ripped him off from the movies, but I think a bigger problem is the lore. They did not exist, beth are just making stuff up now.

Yet they seem to have forgotten how to make up good stuff they took out of Skyrim, that was in other TES games.
