Ok, I hear this all the time from NPCs in Skyrim. It's meant as an insult, but why? I don't understand the term or why it is considered an insult. In Morrowind, they told us what "fetcher", "s'wit", and "n'wah" meant, so why aren't they telling us what "mild-drinker" means? Is it meant to be taken literally, as in "someone who drinks milk"? If so, what is bad about drinking milk, and what beverage is suggested in place of milk? Or am I thinking too hard about this and should just forget about it?
In Skyrim they drink MEAD. ONLY MEAD.
The non-alcoholic option on offer is Milk.
To walk into a bar and order Milk instead of Mead? It's seen as a sign of weakness.
Hence 'Milk-Drinker' as a term of of insult.
