WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO GET A RESPONSE FROM BETHESDA?

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 7:24 pm

The thing is he may not get them. If 100% of gamers got a game breaking bug in a certain quest, it would have been spotted in testing and fixed. Fact is not everyone will, thus they can slip through. All these types of games have weird bugs to start with, and most get patched eventually and this game will be no different. Something you can do in hour 1 of playing it, can break a quest you do in hour 50 of playing. But the next person may not have that problem.

Hence testing is alot harder in these games than say COD or something which is alot more linear
I understand all this but that is why they have a QA testing team right? That is like..their job correct? Releasing a game this buggy to me after paying £40.00 is disgusting. No other way of looking at it in my eyes. Just a DISGRACE. They obviously need to invest more money and manhours into testing their games because thi shas severely damaged their reputation i think as i and a number of my friends will never be buying a game from them on release ever again. I am sure there are many more people in the same shoes.

I want the game and im waiting for the main patch which will be out in a month or so (certainly before xmas) to fix alot of issues. Yea they do have a QA team but there is only so much they can do (apparently there were running the game overnight automatically to pick bugs up). Ive been reading the forums and this game appears to be alot less buggy than Fallout ever was on release. Its frustrating yes but its not something new with Bethesda or games like this.

But by simply accepting it and taking it up the jacksie it opens the possibility for the developers to stay lazy and to just not bother testing too much and letting the loyal paying fanbase QA test the game for them. I have no idea how anyone can be enjoying this game when so many quests are bugged and you cannot continue down the main quest or the theives guild quests etc.. It just isn't acceptable. I do not care how hard the QA testers job is, i just want them to do it properly.

It is to be expected for a game this big.
All Bethesda games where like this at launch and every time ppl whine and threaten but funny thing is that every new TES game sells way more than last.

And game wasnt in making 5.5 years, it was 3 years.
Just look at MW 3, they took 2 years to make it and it's basically same as MW 2, while Bethesda made completely new and enormously huge game in 3 years.
Give them a [censored] break. :tes:

Exactly!

I bought Morrowind for my PC when it first came out. I remember my piece of crap computer at that time could barely even run it. the textures where superior to skyrim on the Xbox.
Hell, Morrowind's textures on the original Xbox were even better. How the [censored] did this whole texture issure slip past you guys this far, Bethesda? Were you even aware of it
before? If not, I hope your fix for this started with the firing all of you QA testers, because they're blind as a bat. If yes, a huge shame on you for releasing the game like this.

The fanbase are always testers these days in games. Thats what beta releases are there for. But its a successful way to spot bugs as gamers together can play far far more hours than a few testers can. End of the day we either accept it or dont buy the game. Of course i and everyone would love every single bug to be spotted and fixed before release, but it never happens like that with any game.

Its not like the testers will be sat there doing nothing, as if a patch has to be released they have to then test that (and pay MS to release the patch on xbox live) so its not like they chose to leave them in there on purpose.

I know someone who has clocked up 40-50 hours of this game without any issues (he is a gamers reviewer so got an early copy), so its not a universal problem

I actually heard a rumour that they weren't going to do anything about it until the game releases internationally, which is next month. This is probably BS, but before I actually got my hands on the game I also thought this texture issue was just BS as well. So who knows.

What do you mean releases internationally??? I'm in Aus.. I got it on 10th November...

Welcome, you have a right to complain. Do not listen to the Bethesda Defence Force telling you to shut up and put up with it because ''BetheSdA iszz D@ BesztezzT!!!111!1!'' The Skyrim release has been a DISGRACE.

I've played for 15 hours now and the only problems I've had are a few stuck arrows and my compass is a little to high.. I'm bloody loving the game and would happily go pay another £40 for it if it broke. I'm sorry for you guys that are encountering all of these game breaking bugs.

Textures aren't so hot sometimes, but this game is still awesome. I haven't seen any of these quest-breaking bugs that make Skyrim such a "disgrace" and I've played for over 20 hours.

Maybe you just bought a crappy copy of the game. So... go buy another - that might fix it.

You do know its the weekend right, and also friday was a holiday, so they got some time off before they start working on all these fixes. Also they just released an incredible game, give them some slack, I don't blame them for wanting to take a small break after one of the biggest launches this year.

An incredible game? Yeah the game looks amazing but ask the people who cannot get past an early main quest how incredible it is? They will say not very. They should not have sold us this faulty product so don't chat sh!t to me and tell me they need a break. Their product needs to work properly as they have sold it to us as faulty. Then AND ONLY THEN they deserve their break.

He addressed me first of all i'll have you know. I am not playing my copy until it is heavily patched, more information you do not need to know. As a paying customer I have a right to complain about this terribly buggy game with broken quests everywhere, we don't need people like you telling us to shutup and put up with it. That is not how capitalism works.
First of all i know.
And second no one forced u to preorder or buy the game before seeing how other ppl react.

I don't buy a car advertised to me as working and then go oh its okay it doesn't work properly. Your Bethesda Defence Force arguements are pathetic. Go play your broken game if your happy with it and let people like me who cannot progress quests have our right to complain and show dissatisfaction for being sold a faulty product. People like you are the reason companies can get away with this.

Look the way it is is that people went out and bought the game and cannot play it. Obviously it's pretty serious for a lot of them seeing the amount of people on with issues that stop them completing quests. They have every right to vent. No one is saying Bethesda don't make amazing games or questioning their talents. They are simply saying that they can't play the game we're all raving about which must be very annoying. So to all the Defence Force please just realise that nobody is giving out about the talents or ability of Bethesda. These people are clearly massive fans of the game. That's why they're so let down. What about the people who can't even get the game to run on their Xbox because of the compatibility issues. Should they just sit around saying "Oh this is all fine, just a little hiccup"? Yes this all will hopefully be sorted but they have a right to be upset about it.

Probably more knowledge than you actually. They'll fix it, you just have to wait it out. Put it on the shelf for a few weeks if it's such a damn issue right now.

Look man i dont want to fight and argue, i just think it's wrong the way you are attacking them.

I am sure that team that made this game (Bethesda Game Studios) isnt the one to blame but rather publisher (Bethesda Softworks).
These ppl are just making the game, publisher is the one that says: ok guys u need to release this game by 11.11.11 or u are all fired!
Oh and publisher is the one that decides how big budget for making this game is (that includes QA).
So if you wanna complain, send your complain to publisher telling them that they should invest enough money in QA next time!

I triggered a bug in Forbidden Legends where a bridge would not fall when I turned the lever, blocking my progress.
Because I had to jump into a hole to get into the dungeon, if I did not have a save outside of that hole, I would be stuck and forced to restart my game.
At level 24!!

Oh for a freaking simple mark/ recall spell.
But no, all useful effect have to be removed.

THAT is your solution? I'm already upset I gave this company $70 for a game I cant play and you want me to give them another $70? Some of the people on this forum are way to eager to jump to Bethesda's defence. I've been playing these games since Daggerfall. I have a pretty good idea of what launch bugs to expect. I expect a lot of minor bugs, nothing that keeps textures from loading. That's programming 101.
