So what is our currency?

I think it is speculated(possibly ingame) that it came from that but that doesn't mean that is the only reason it was called that. I think a more interesting explanation is that it was a carry over form of currency from eiter the Remans or the Potentates.

I vote for this! If they really wanted to get crazy they could even have exchange rates based on how good your faction is doing, which of course could lead to all kinds of issues if the factions aren't balanced. But, at least it would motivate people to contribute to the cause.

would be damn nice if it did tho .. and would be easy to impliment . just put the %tage on spreadsheets and would be like our own mini eso stockmarket

Ah, the Canadian Loonie, and Toonie.. We are already a head of the game with our currency nicknames. "Fin", "Tenner", "Dub" are the other slang terms that I know for the five, ten and twenty dollar bills.

I hope they dont call them "Septims", because aren't they named after Tiber Septim..? And ESO is based before Tiber's reign? Correct me if I'm wrong here.

They should just call them Zennies (Zenny, singular)

<_<

from that POV they shouldn't be called Septims in Skyrim either. Talos fell to disgrace, why did they continue to use his head on the coins?

EDIT:
it's just... sorry to say so:
Bethesda screwed up their own content and lore so hard they don't need Zenimax Online for that job...

Talos didn't really "fall" from grace in Skyrim, the Aldmeri Dominion outlawed the practice of worshipping Talos as a part of their peace agreement.
But, yea it would be a political tactic if they changed the name of the currency during Skyrim but with the rebellion and dragons, they were too busy. That's a good point though, if they really wanted to "erase" Talos, they would have been more aggressive in destroying anything relating to him.
