What's your favorite armor?

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 3:57 pm

For light armor I think the complete set of Leather looks best. I also like Scale Armor but hate the horned helmet.

For heavy armor I like the Orc armor, but also like the full set of Steel Plate Armor but I just wish there was a Steel Plate Shield.

There was supposed to be a steel plate shield, for some reason it never made it into the game

Dragon Plate armor

Why? Cause it looks bad ass, especially the Helmet. And whats better than going into battle against dragons while wearing their brethren bones and skin on you? Or fighting humans while they see this Gaint mass of armor made of dragons coming at them nothing can be more frightening (except Daedric)

My favorite Armor is either the Imperial armor (Heavy) for the Roman look and the fact it looks badass  and Iron Armor the worst of the heavy armor granted but the best looking armor I hate armor with stupid fancy designs especially the ebony armor :yuck:

Ebony mail with nightengale gloves, boots and hood.

Because it looks great.
I used to like Ebony Mail, but i lost it somewhere and can't think where i put it. I guess that's the trouble with having so many different homes and stashes.

I prefer my werewolf fur. Except I'd love a new color.

Depends on the character I play.

For my Nord characters (the majority of my chars, mainly the classic barbarian type):

Fur, Hide, Studded, Bear Cuirass (Stormcloak officer) with either Horned Steel Helmet or Bear Helmet and maybe Nordic Steel gauntlets/boots

For my non-Nord rogue types:

Thieves' Guild Armor or Nightingale

Also the Executioner's Robe and boots (added as craftable light armor via modding) for a variety of characters.

For looks, leather gets my top spot. It's one of the few armors whose entire ensemble works well together. Glass comes in second, but the helmet's hideous.

For true protection, the #1 spot goes to Nightingale, but only because that's the most powerful armor I've found in the game so far.

I like the Thieves Guild armor, but not the Dark Brotherhood, as I felt it looked as though it were designed by a ballerina.

You should rather ask what the least horrible armor in Skyrim is.
I play a female character and find most briastplates....no wait, let me rephrase that..... childish giant boob bumps plates absolutely disappointing and unrealistic, thats why http://i554.photobucket.com/albums/jj404/Michael_Ab/tassaarmor.jpg - which looks at least...bearable.

That is the exact same set I wear. I too think it looks awesome. Best looking set I've put on, ever.

Ancient Nord setup:
  • Ancient Nord armour
  • Helm of Yngol
  • Wuuthrad
  • "Winter is Coming" Cloak
  • Okin and Eduj as backups.

Imperial - Becouse it looks kind Romanish
Blades - :P
Ebony - I feel just like Black Knight and it looks awesome (only if not that neck issue, and helmet not casting shadows).

Fashion, fashion, it's all about fashion! ;)

On my female characters, my favorites so far are Nightingale and Blades, depending on whether they like light or heavy.

On my favorite top model Vilkas, I'd say Steel Plate or Ebony. On guys with heavier build (Brynjolf, for instance), Nightingale.

Steel Plate is my favorite. I like the look of it and I like the concept of having a set of steel armor that is stronger than the regular one. Also, in the Skyrim Art book it is refered to as Nordic Plate which I think it pretty nice.

Ebony armor looks sweet, though I plan to outfit my Nord in daedric once he has the daedra hearts.

Thieves Guild armor for sure, I enjoy the more normal looking leather look of it. If the guards armor had sleeves I'd probably wear that too. In general I just like armor/apparel that wouldn't raise too many eyebrows if any in town, so not really big on the flashy high level stuff.

Forsworn. Why? Because sadly I think it is the only armor in the entire game that looks good on a female character.

In other words, it's the only armor that's scantily clad.

For my Nord warrior, anything natural and rugged looking: iron, steel, steel plate, leather, scale, fur, and especially Ancient Nord.

On my Orc I love Orcish.

Dragon plate/scale looks amazing too, but too powerful and makes things too easy.

I haven't figured out what I like on my Dunmer yet. He wears light armor, and I am really not sure.

I hope some time Beth gives us more variations of iron, fur, scale, leather, and steel armors.

If I have to pick an armor set it's the Ancient Nord Hero for sure. I also like the Steel Plate Armor, but I prefer light armors. Fur is also cool, as is scale armor. I really like the look of the real nordic armors, and mixing and matching them makes for some pretty cool outfits.
