Azura's pretty terrifying

"You dare summon forth Azura of the Crimson Gate, pleading for power? I don't know if you are worthy of such favor. In fact, I doubt it very much. I suppose that if I demanded that you murder a priest who has been saying very, very rude things about me, you would refuse even that small, simple request. Would you do that for me?"

"No! You're supposed to say yes! You're supposed to say: Yes, beautiful Azura, I would gladly murder at the snap of your ivory fingers. Boor! Bigot! Barbarian! Now, I must go before I forget that I am a lady and say something that I'll regret."

Meridia, definitely.

She likes the living and hates the undead. She's probably the most beneficial for the mortals of Nirn.

Thats an interesting Daedra to suggest.
Most people see him as a minor demon of pestilence, but you could also regard him as the cleansing fire.
The wolf that ensures the strength of the herd by culling the weak.
Those that survive a plague become immune to it.

Also, my signature.

Jyggalag. He won't serve his own purposes, but just serve the purposes of order and logic. If it was meant to be, it was meant to be. He shows no favortism.

Of course, he isn't able to be in this form until the Hero of Kvatch takes his place as the Daedric Prince of Madness: Sheogorath.

For those of you saying Azura:

She facilitated the destruction of Morrowind; causing millions of deaths, disrupted mythic stability which ultimately led to the Oblivion Crisis. This was all because one of her toys got broken by three people in the distant past. Several of her loyal worshippers got stuck in a vampire's lair, instead of aiding or attempting to cure them, she sends someone to remove them because again, her toys are broken. That's all her worshippers are to her; toys, once you're broken or boring, you're cast aside for the next thing in line. Other princes are open about this arrangement, most come with health-warnings, she pretends to show love and compassion. She got what she deserved at the Trial.

Edit note: Christ, that was a lot of typos that I had to fix in that.

This.
And may I add, it's what makes her impressing. In a villainous way.

IMHO, none of them are benevolent. All of them are arrogantly preoccupied with their own agendas and niches and view mortals as a means by which to accomplish their agendas.

The mortals of Tamriel should rebel against the daedric princes—no more of this daedric cult nonsense.

And, if indeed Tamriel is in a deadric realm without a daedric prince (Lorkhan?), then this is possible, though doing so may require more research. Perphaps, in doing so, the mortals of Tamriel could usher in "the dominion of mortals" (cf. the Dominion of Man in LOTR).

Lorkhan isn't a Daedra. ALso, it'd be hard to rebel against the Daedra. They have artifacts, and who doesn't want artifacts?

Lorkhan is... Lorkhan. He defies classification of "Aedra" or "Daedra".

Lorkhan isn't Daedric by the strict meaning of the word, but he is a Padomaic. Also Meridia and Jyggalag seem to be Anuics who became Daedra by respectively no choice in the matter when barred from escaping with the other Magna Re, and choosing an ordered plane of his own making over the chaos of the proposed Mundus.
Anyways, least dangerous. At first glance Meridia, but she can attempt to kill you in OB after you have performed a service for her, so not exactly trustworthy. I'd strike a deal with Malacath if I had to deal with any of them, at least he only turns on you if you are useless and cowardly.

sheogorath, the embodiement of creativity and freedom (unless, of course, you value your sanity, then you might want to find a new lord)

I'm confused. I thought Lorkhan was an aedra.

he is. iirc he is an aedra with a padomic basis, meaning he is more chaotic than others with an anuic basis

In the sense that he partook in creation.

Well, take it Daedra by Daedra:

Azura: As some people have said, she has her own interests, but seems to, when it is in her interests, help her followers. Some people quote the Vampires, but Daedra aren't omnipotent, they can't be everywhere and save every follower. But she seems to, at the very least, help some of the time.

Boethiah: ...Daedric prince of deceit... I don't really need to go much further. Not safe.

Clavicus Vile: Not really a god I think anyone "worships" and trusting him to be safe is about as safe as handling lit dynamite. If you know what you are getting into, maybe, but worshipping him seems... silly. He's a one of kinda guy, you meet him, make a deal and move of. Hey maybe if you worship him you might have a chance of getting a good deal... probably not.

Hermeaus Mora: Kind of a curious prince honestly...Not safe, but interesting.

Hircine: Another curious one, if you are a lycanthrope, seems like a fairly safe bet. Otherwise, not safe, he follows the "strongest survives" with his non-lycanthropic followers.

Malacath: If you are a devout follower (aka: an orc) and as a devout follower you will be a strong orc, pretty safe bet. He doesn't seem to kill devout followers for the sake of enjoyment, only seems to go after ones that go against his wills.

Mehrunes: destruction... I mean seriously. Kills people for fun.

Mephala: In skyrim, her daedric artifact gets stronger when you betray people... seriously.

Meridia: As others have said, fairly safe, if you follow her devoutly and are not a undead fellow.

Molag Bal: Another daedra of "I kill you if your weak" viewpoint.

Namira: She doesn't seem to take anything out on her followers, But to be a true follower you must live in squalid horrid conditions.... sounds like what happens if you betray most of the other daedras... if you aren't dead.

Nocturnal: Devout followers seem to have a strike of good luck... but at the same time she is selfish and random, so getting on her bad side can happen to even the most devout follower.

Peryite: Most of the followers are rife with disease. They don't seem to die... *shrug* so is it safe.. maybe, is it worth it...

Sanguine: He does what he wants, including murdering people if its fun. Not safe, in any way.

Sheogorath: Nuts, does what he wants to all followers on his whim, not safe.

Vaermina: Erm, not sure, to be honest, she doesn't seem to have many followers, in skyrim her followers don't seem to be overly negatively affected assuming they are devout, the bad things that happened seemed fairly irrelevant to their following the daedra. So yeah, dunno.

I could never understand how anyone could ever come to this conclusion. The line between Aedra and Daedra is drawn at whoever participated in Creation. Those who gave of themselves became the Aedra, while those who did not became the Daedra. Sure, Lorkhan may not have gave of himself "willingly", but his heart became the Heart of the World. On top of that, his children are the men of Tamriel. If men are his descendents, that would imply he is an ancestor would it not?
