Why Is Dawnguard DLC Coming To 360 First?

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 10:03 am

If you've ever been on a Nintendo messageboard, you would think they were, and that Shigeru Miyamoto is Jesus.

I haven't bought or played anything made from Nintendo since i had a N64 as a kid

when i can play kingdom hearts, shadow of colossus, ICO and a bunch of other exclusives for PS3 then you can complain. you get much better exclusives than xbox gets and this is only for 30 days

Its a 30 day wait, its not forever. Geez.

I think a lot of people are mad because they are kids, and it is "summer break" in a lot of places.

A+B>C? Is that sorcery to you?

Not on any game that will also be released on Xbox. That's M$'s policy. Either they get early content or simultaneous content. Otherwise they exclude the product from Xbox release.

M$ doesn't pull that with EA though they know better then to piss EA off.

how long does summer break last for? It's about 6 weeks in the UK I think, although I could be wrong. I don't think kids finish school till sometime in July, so I it's released a month after Xbox that's still plenty of time to play?

i know that its with all the COD games how dlcs come out a month before the other platforms, but now skyrim dlcs too?Did microsoft buy that too?More people play ps3 and pc combined than 360 alone,i just find it ridiculous that 360 gets even skyrim dlcs first too.
Fun fact, more people play PC then any other console combined.

It's roughly two months around here. One of the school districts around here gets out next week, but others got out at the end of May. If the game comes out when they hope, on June 28, that means that it won't be out on the other platforms until very late July, early August. For the kids getting out in late June, they'll still have about a month left. For the kids that got out late May, summer is basically over.

Although, in my experience with the kids around here, I'm pretty sure more of them have Xboxes than PS3s or PCs.

Another fun fact. Diablo 3, a PC exclusive, sold 3.4 million copies on it's first day. Skyrim sold 3.7 million copies across all platforms on it's first day (the 10 million was it's first week). Although, the 3.7 million does not include digital sales on the PC while the 3.4 million does.

M$ ownes 2/3 of the market. They can do whatever they want. The only thing keeping the competition alive is Sony and the Ps3.

There's no way to know. The figures for PC only account for in-store sales, not digital ones.

IIRC, its estimated that about 4million people bought Skyrim on the PC, which is well over the numbers for individual consoles

BTW PS3 version does NOT come out 30 days later thats just when Exclusitivity ends and thats when they COULD release it. The DLC for pc and ps3 date is still unidentified.

Microsoft offered bethesda alot of money, they took it, you cant blame them, in this economic climate you need as much as you can get, id do the exact same in Todd Howards or whoever made that decisions shoes as well. Besides its only for a month, its not like other platforms never get it. The reason sony are reluctant to do it is because PSN is free, xbox LIVE is paid for, simple as that, sony aint gonna purposly lose mega money for no good reason, you seen the kinda trouble there in? Microsoft can afford to do it as they can take it out of their profits of XBL, its simple buisness practices, plain and simple and like anything in life you get what you pay for. If you pay £40 a year for a service you expect to get this kind of stuff first and have better servers so on so fourth, if its free then you take what your given and you dont dare complain or [censored] because at the end of the day its free. Unfortunatley it just looks like this will become a more common place practice so the only advice i can give you is get used to it, or if it really bothers you that much then buy a xbox, but buying axbox just for 30 day exclusivity deals is a waste of money IMO.

As much as I hate to puncture your balloon, those percentages come from the initial sales, and as such dont necessarily represent the current ones.

Don't go on calling Microsoft these money grabbing rip offers! They aren't like that. They do pull a few fast ones, but that is only to fund themselves so they don't go out of business. And don't blame microsoft for paying bethesda to release things earlier, blame bethesda for taking it.

Disclaimer:I am not hating Beth for anything, I am just giving you a better company to blame. I, for one, will not directly bash bethesda ever
