There are some major critics out there who are pointing fingers at Fallout 4's graphics and animation. Now if you knew how much of a Fallout fan that I was, you would also understand why I personally take offense to this. I have a total of 3,000 hours into Fallout New Vegas, I also have about 1,200 hours into fallout 3.
Now why did I play Fallout so obsessively? Was it the 10 star, next gen graphics comparable to Battlefield 3 (At the time)? Was it the fluid animation similar to Crysis 2? Did I play the game for the minor details? (Such as heavy breathing after combat, and accumulated sweat that AAA games today typically have.)
The answer is no, Fallout 3/NV did not have any of that. Fallout is about a game where you can do what you want, when you want. Its about venturing out into the wasteland, meeting new faces, and doing your best with your finely tuned character to survive in the harsh environment. Fallout offered incomparable amounts of perks, stats, attributes, and upgrades; This allowed you to play the game your way.
To be frank, I don't want better graphics, in fact, I would prefer that Bethesda would keep the old graphics, and expand upon the massive game world. I would also love to see hundreds of new perks, dozens of new weapons, and thousands of upgrades to keep me involved for another 10k hours. You see, Bethesda cannot afford to do that because there are critics out there that break the developers, critics who have no idea what a good game truly is, and they have no clue how irrelevant graphics are in modern games that can have potentially no limit on detail.
I would rather have another Fallout 3 with expanded content, than another mainstream, walk in a straight line and watch your character do all the action game like Battlefield, Tomb Raider, or the RPG wannabes like Kingdom of Amalar
