Another unsubstantiated and overly used statement. I have never played call of duty and am not a fan of the fallout 4 graphics. When compared to most games now releasing it is years behind visually. This is not an opinion it is fact. It is opinion that some people like the art style or visuals and think they are fine or don't like them.

You can't argue if you put an HD stream of Fallout 4 beside most modern games.

Have you seen the running and dialouge animations? They are very far behind the current standards in gaming.

People always do this with the release of any major game. Same thing with Skyrim and Oblivion. Heck, I saw the same thing with Lord of the Rings Online when I started playing on launch day 8 years ago.

You can't blame us. We have been waiting for years and years and years with no info, fake leaks, rumors etc and finally the game is coming. Some of us just dont see enough of a leap between fallout 3/nv/skyrim and fallout 4 visually. Of course our expectations are through the roof...

The good news.. The gameplay, perks, settlements, and amazing world make up for the setbacks in visuals!

This is one of those issues that people are always going to be divided about, and it's one of those issues about which nothing can really be done. The only way to demand better quality graphics from Bethesda is to "vote with your wallet," so to speak, and just not buy the game. Buying the game and pouring hours into it is frankly just going to prove the opposing viewpoint, that BGS made the right call by putting nearly all their resources into world design & gameplay. Think the game looks so bad that it's not worth playing? Don't play it. Either that, or wait for a texture mod to drop next year.

Otherwise, the discussion is entirely unconstructive. The only responses anyone can give is "I agree," "I disagree," or "okay, whatever." You'll just wind up going in circles about it.

I'm still going to buy the game because of its other redeeming qualities. The thing is.. The better the overall game including visuals; the more customers they will have. People that aren't familiar with Bethesda games might not find it visually appealing and won't buy it. Fans like me and others on this forum will buy it regardless; but from a business standpoint it makes sense to excell in the visual department as well as the other departments of course.

Easiest answer: Because people enjoy complaining.. and the bigger something is the more they like complaining about it. We seem to love putting things on pedestals and then knocking them off.

I play Fallout 4 because there isn't any ROLE PLAYING Post apocalyptic game like it that has the style , the animations , the story , the features , the graphics that FALLOUT SERIES HAS. I love the series. I didn't make a Fuss when 3 came out and I didn't make a fuss when new Vegas came out . Fallout 4 looks awesome. The graphics are improved . Could they be better ? Yes . Can they do this while not sacrificing new promising features while using the same engine ? No. I rather have fallout 4 the way it looks and looks like it plays now then wait 5 more years for something that looks like "the witcher" . Fallout is always going to be slightly behind in graphic department because there's just so much more that it works on other then graphics. Go play myst if you wanna look at pretty [censored] .

Other than the visuals and animations the game looks like the best and most epic fallout yet; and maybe one of the best games ever.

Trust me I wish the visuals were slightly better I wouldn't be complaining. I hat whiners but am just disappointed they don't push a but harder on the look of the world.

^Supposedly ultra settings. I've never had a problem with TES or the FO games visuals but honestly anyone thinking these screens justify the bloated specs bethesda has released needs glasses. The game will be fun no doubt and modders, as they always do, will fix the visuals...next year when bethesda release the CK.

Looks fine to me. Not heart-stopping, boner-inducing good, but it's certainly aesthetically pleasing enough for me to look at for hundreds of hours.

There are multiple camps on the issue and there is no way they will ever agree. Face it the graphics and visuals and animations are behind MOST current games. When the next TES game comes out people will be happy even if it looks super close to skyrim.

The middle ground is... Fallout 4 will be amazing in every other way and we will all enjoy playing the heck out of it. This I think we can all agree on regardless of our thoughts on how the game looks.

My main issue is how absolutely terrible the mouth animations are, it's so poorly done. I was watching some leaked video showing the Vault-Tec rep speaking to the pc at the door and his mouth animations were worse than the E3 video and I don't know why, and what was worse than that were the mouth animations (specifically the lip syncing) of the protagonist, in this case the protagonist was customized as another race so perhaps the lips are more jacked for other races than the default, not sure. It's some extreme uncanny valley, and it was irritating to watch. The rest of the graphics are pretty but underwhelming and expected of Bethesda who always pushes out dated graphics, but damn I wish they knew how to sync lips and animate correctly cause it's creepy.

Because some people are super-picky graphics snobs, who pick the best-looking game of a generation, declare it to be the "standard", and then call everything that doesn't live up to their irrational standard to be outdated, "last-gen", or (if they're feeling particularly hyperbolic) "like 1995".

In the case of Beth games, they also frequently forget how the older games actually looked at release, as opposed to how they did after lots of modding. (Like the folks who said the original screenshots looked "just like Fallout 3".... at which point side by side comparisons demonstrated how vastly better the new screens were.)

I literally just read a crappy article that said it could be mistaken for fallout 3. These show clear improvement, but i must be blind with no standards i guess

Yeah that was 8 years ago almost. People are saying it isn't enough of a graphical leap.

People keep saying oh don't worry you can mod it in. For us console users we don't even know how mods will be implemented successfully... I hope they are but on PC it is much easier to manage than on a console; especially with conflicting mods.

Because everyone has a PC that can run on ultra settings..

Just saw PC Ultra graphics shots, and they look amazing! Much better than the shots we've seen from consoles.

Y'all remember when Rage was so hyped up to be this amazing visual game with revolutionary graphics. And then remember it svcked...
