Why do mounted combat in Patch 1.6 feel rushed?

What are peoples thought on horseback archery with no hud, it took me a while to learn where the sweet spot was in regular combat but I can imagine me missing all the time on horseback with no crosshairs.
Completely useless. For me anyway.

Are there any FTs that are lower levelled then? Because I distinctly remember taking one down very quickly, quickly enough to pleasantly surprise me. Like, 4 firebolts, hand on heart. 0.o

The next time, of course, I may as well have been throwing feathers at them.

All Frost Trolls, with the exception of one spectral one in a quest, are level 22 with 460 health which they can regenerate at a fixed rate. Regular trolls however are weaker, level 14, 280 health.

Perhaps the regeneration made it feel different?

Maybe it was some random bug then. The only reason I'm so sure of what I saw is that I was sure of death when I clapped eyes on it, and was so shocked at the ease of the fight. I know what I saw! (god I sound like I was abducted by aliens or something lol)

Ah well, never mind. Bottom line is, indeed, destro needs some serious tweaking. If NPCs can blow 100's of health off with one spell, the player should be able to as well. :(
