why no werebears?

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 3:55 pm

There was no proof of Dragons before Morrowind, only books again. As for the Falmer, a book and a set of armor didn't convince many people. Before they were confirmed to exist in Skyrim, many people here on the forums believed them to be a myth just like you believe with Werebears. The difference is that Werebears have been mentioned in more than one reliable source and also a canon sighting.
armor? look a bit farther down -_-. spear of the snow prince?

my only response is "see my above post"

and those other sources that people keep citing are again, NOT WRITTEN BY BETHESDA. just signed off on.
So just because its not witten by Bethesda dosn't mean anything. Werebears are in the lore. "On Lycanthropy" talks about them and Beth uses this in game.

I said "real" meaning real to the lore and I wasn't complaining, I just said that I was dissapointed. Anyways most threads about werebears are mostly people speculating about what they could be like and suggesting them for the next DLC. "im just saying it wont be for the lore's sake. it will be for people whining about it. and at that point will it even be worth it?" you say that like we're ask for plasma rifles or something that is completely out there, they're in the lore whether you accept it or not.
yes. they have about two lines in ONE book of the ENTIRE game series. Again, i only go by the IN-GAME evidence. I dont even consider the Novels relevant, as they were in-fact NOT written by bethesda

You obviously didn't read my post about red mountain earlier here it is

In Skyrim, there are Dunmer refugees in Windhelm that say something like "After Red mountain erupted we fled to Skyrim since Morrowind was unhabitable" it erupted in "Lord of Souls". So don't be giving me this bs about novels having nothing to do with the ingame lore

Bethesda has mentioned before that all books written by Greg Keyes is canon whether you want to believe it or not, the proof is up above.

By which I mean people complaing about how they could have been better or stronger. How they could have looked better or bigger/smaller. again, they wont be put in for the lore's sake. thy will be thrown in half a**ed like the werewolfs were......just because people where complaing about them not being in the game -_-

Yes I'm sure if they did everything we asked of them people would still find something to complain about.

Poor Bethesda they just want to make us happy

I never said my point was more valid that anybodies lmao. truly, i dont care one way or the other. MY point is that instead of flooding the forums about stupid thing's such as this we should be talking about thing's that are actually IN the game

The forums are for discussing things ingame and for future DLC.

Edit:"I never said my point was more valid that anybodies" I never said you did either, I was just trying to say that everybody has different opinions.

A mod once told me

You know, we actually don't care if members want to speculate over random things. It's a game forum, that's what people do.

Most people have exhausted the subjects of conversation that consist of things in the game they find to be worth talking about. Discussions still persist, but do we really need more "Stormcloaks vs Imperials" or "Blades vs Greybeards" discussions?

I feel talking about what should have been in the game, or what should be in the next game to be much more interesting discussions. With those kinds of conversations, you get creative ideas, not just people saying something 90 other people have already said before.

I'm with you.I love speculating and discussing new things like "werebears" or "spears" "new magic". It's always fun, but you will always have the people that disagree and want to argure.

Lore comes before the game itself, the game is molded around Lore...Beth just ignores Lore for gameplay sometimes...which is wrong to do

werebears exist in the book not in the games.
Werebears exist in lore, not the games. Few posts ago you were just claiming how werebears were "fiction" in the Elder Scrolls and now all of the sudden you acknowledge their existance in the franchise?

Also, no one is flaming you. Clearly you have a vendetta against other people in the forums and you want to use every inch of a constructive critism to try and exploit it to your advantage and report them for apparently no reason other than they are correcting you ten times over. Or maybe because you were suspended for a time, you seek to bring others with you?

Do not mistake me for flaming, I was simply making an observation. Remember, reporting people falsely will get you in trouble with the mods.

<-------------------- We only need one werebear for them to exist. :)

Look guys, respect each others opinions even if you don't agree with them, I have deleted a few posts so keep this on topic please and don't attack someone just because you disagree.

The book is not with the franchise, it is completey separate. I claimed they are fiction in the games so think about what you are going to say before you say it.

Irrelevant The book is official canon. Bethesda allowed the novels to the published and they themselves acknowledge everything in the book as canon, including the Thalmor, Hircine's Hunting Grounds, TItus and werebears.

Werebears are in lore. They are official. And this is final. Think of it this way:

If a game takes place in New York city, but doesn't have any rats in the game, does it mean rats do not exist in the real New York City?

So the floating city of Umbriel never appeared over Tamriel, the Red Mountain never erupted, the Argonians never invaded Morrowind, and the Dunmer never fled their homeland. That's your platform? Because I seem to remember all of these things being addressed in-game throughout Skyrim. Care to explain how Infernal City and its sequel are not canon, yet the events they depict (which appear in them first) are canon, since they are supported in Skyrim? Unless you're suggesting TES V: Skyrim itself isn't canon.

Werebears do not exist period. They will not be in future skyrim dlc, and if they are then they will only be hostile and will not be able to get infected by them. Bethesda does not have to put werebears in the game.
