Since when does playing a non-Nord equate to Nord hatred? :stare:

I don't hate Nords, Orcs are just the superior race.

Because failed logic says so.

Not what the OP mentioned, but I have noticed a general theme in this community of people saying Nords are all brutish, muscle-bound morons. I never hear anybody say the same about Orcs or Redguards; the other "warrior races". It does seem like there's a general bias against Nords, to me.

I personally wasn't looking forward to the setting of this game because it was the Nords but I was happily proved wrong. I think I had been too influenced by the naked Nords myself from Morrowind. If anything, I rather developed a lot of respect for the Nords (though I have yet to play one; too much fun trying races I've never played before).

 I'd forgotten those Nords. Fast forward to the present - the Nords are still having problems with witches, but at least they've stopped losing their clothes!

Nords are stupid and I hate them. The only one I even remotely liked was Nels the Naughty. In Oblivion, quite a few Nords were the jolly ol' drunkards, but in Skyrim they really turn me off because they are all "GRRR IM A MARCUS FENIX IMITATOR IMMA CRUSH YOUR HEAD LIKE A WALNUT GRRR HONOR,MEAD GRRR IM TOUGH MAGIC SUX ITS THE DEVIL GRAAAAAAAH"

They can all die in a whole for all I care.

This. I miss the jolly, loveable Nords of old. The kind that would sarcastically say "Seen any ELVES? HA HA HA HA~" standing right next to a Dunmer/Altemer/Bosmer, and the kind that would end up naked and paralyzed on the side of the road because a nice woman they were trying to help turned out to be a witch.

They were still fierce fighters, no doubt, but they were also very jovial and amicable too.

Skyrim's Nords are a little too gruff, hard around the edges maybe. Actually, now that I think of it, you know what's wrong with Skyrim these days? Everyone is obsessed with death.

:shifty:

Edit: On a second thought, I think I dislike the whole Great War thing too. There's so much anti-elvism and anti-Talos and racial tensions that it really makes me a little sad. I miss the days when Altmer were just known for being haughty wizards, not baby-eating Nazis; and when Nords were known as hearty warriors, not seditious rebels.

I think that's due to some of them making a big deal out of getting to Svongarde. My dovahkin doesn't understand what the fuss is about - that place isn't anything special.

This is the first TES in which I got to appreciate the Nords. I used to favour the Redguards and the Bretons.

But in this game I've gotten to like the Nords, for their good stats, as well as their culture and character.

Orcs are the same deal on all counts except for maybe dislike of magic. Not sure on that last one. Actually, Orcs are even worse when it comes to the whole "honor" thing. Ever meet the random Orc NPC who's literally standing around waiting for a "good death" because it's apparently dishonorable for Orcs to age past a certain point?

I was making a little joke. You know, Jon Battle-Born, hangs out infront of the general store in Whiterun?

Always says "everyone is obsessed with death" every time you walk within 5 feet of him?

I actually feel the exact same. The Nords were all huggable drunkards in past games, something I like. I actually played them often because of this. In Skyrim, there just all so damn...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9wmczxnT3c

Don't remember that one. I thought he was the one always complaining about the Grey-Manes and how they were backing the Stormcloaks?

Nah that's the other Battle-Born, in the Imperial Armor. Jon is the bard in Iron armor that just stands around the market center. He complains about the other bard in the Inn being a milk-drinker. :P

They were probably huggable drunkards because they didn't have to deal with dragons randomly attacking cities or being dragged away from their homes and families for following a religion.

Breton magic resistance. Otherwise I do Nord.

A better question is why does this game have so many furies.

I doubt that very much. Nords = dumb.

Dumb - (of a person) Unable to speak, most typically because of congenital deafness.

If they don't have the power of speech then they'd probably be writing quite a bit, no?

Nobody said they didn't have any reason to be serious, but we don't have to like it all the same.

Hence why I kind of dislike the whole Great War and the Thalmor angle. It's...almost too serious. The Jarl's Wizard in Dawnstar I think, the one who talks about all the horrors of the Great War and the smell of burning flesh and all that like she has post-traumatic stress almost.

Be nice if everybody wasn't so grimdark.

Pinkie Pie is best pony. If you think otherwise you're a hater and a troll, and have been carried away by all those paid media reviews, casual filthy console player. We haven't discovered new intelligent life forms because of people like you. I hope you die in a fire, and this game aswell, though It will burn little, as shallow as It is.

That's why I want Sheogorath as a companion.

Exactly. Fallout is like this, but it has its incredibly black, twisted sense of humor (which I love) to balance it out. Skyrim has no humor, at all. I actually just wanted to stay with Sheogorath for hours, because he was the only thing in Skyrim that could make me laugh. Twas sad when I completed that quest. I use the Wabbajack as much as I possibly can just to brighten the place up, even if that means turning my enemies into sweetrolls, and then eating them. Fun fun fun!

EDIT: Hell, M'aiq isn't even a liar anymore. Everything he says in game is actually 100% true. That's no fun.
