Hope you have a team ready, because it took Oblivion modding teams 1-2 years to do something like this

But from the pictures it looks good so far

As the experienced modders on here would tell you, stay away from the workshop. If your mod turns out to be amazing everyone will be following on the nexus. Just pretend the workshop doesn't exist.

Edit: Plus you can just upload all your screenshots onto your mod page on the nexus.

Hello everyone. if you didnt already know, ive got an updated version out of kamdoon, on both steam, and on the Nexus. let me know what you think. its still an early beta, but i've added alot since then too, that'll be out in version 3.. spent almost a week now updating a dungeon adding alot onto that. basically now the dungeon 'Ueyyll Keep" when im in the Creation Kit, the memory at the top of the render window now reads 98%. still to do is: : Over 190 dungeons. : 60+ quests. : 60% more landscape. : probably over 9,000 items to place still, not including over 10,000 trees (all checked to be Not sticking out of the ground). And much more!

Wow. Just take your time and do them well. 190 poorly made dungeons and 60+ crappy quests wont be any fun.

Hey everybody.

i've been working hard on this mod and it's looking even better than i thought i could make it look. there's so much more i want to add to this before it's truly finished but i'm happy with the past week of building probably the most to date. and its not even a town area or anything, but just a snowy tundra area with a cool dragon priest keep. i'll put up the latest screenshots on my NEXUS WEBSITE: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/26398

Finally it's the last week of my Tafe studies too, so i'll have more time for this soon which is always a bonus. if your wondering what im studying it's Retail* there's alot of money to be made in that sector so thats what im pushing for. hope to see your thoughts on my nexus screenshots here after i've updated them soon. have fun!

Use tinypic to upload your pictures, whatever site you are using removes them after only a couple months. I've had some tinypic pictures uploaded (and still being used) for many many years.

I mention this because none of your opening post picture links work anymore.

Oh no worries, just thought I would let you know. Google's Picasa also works and that one allows you to store them in albums.

I'll look into this project as it grows, good luck.

Nice but to me the mushrooms that do live underground don't make much sense above ground and under snow ...

Yeah, ive concidered that one too, However i'd be missing out on the opportunity to make so many new ideas if i stuck to conventions. I think this is cool. when people play the Dragonborn DLC will they complain about above ground mushrooms? i dont think so.

did you see the idea i borrowed from that dlc trailer? with those new huts with multiple domes? i simply took afew "wordwalls" turned them sideways and put them together, and voila! :)

hey guys..

ive run into a small issue at the moment with quests, ive put up a thread in the "CK" section but i think ill add it here too to get more people to see it. :)

Hey guys.
i've run into afew issues now that ive started to add quests to kamdoon.

1. when you start the quest # it runs fine and gives you the basic mission goals as you go, BUT what's happening is my journal log entry text isnt showing up at all, you get the mission title, and the mission goals below with the diamonds to the left of each. but just under the mission title. all the text i made for it isnt there at all, but its clearly there in the creation kit.

AND.

2. now im having a problem where the saved character i was using who is only level 2 right now, (i deleted the rest). that character is good and the quest ## starts but issue above Exists.
The 2nd issue is that i thought if i started with a fresh character maybe issue 1. would fix itself. No. it didn't.
Now as a new character when i go upto the said NPC to start the quest it doesnt start at all, meaning the dialog option to get anywhere doesnt appear and the npc just says their regular skyrim pvssyr. i tried exiting the game and coming back but still the quest isnt starting.

And i didnt set any parameters for the quest to start at a certain level or anything either.

Any ideas? thankyou . :)

just an update, still the quest i'm mentioning above isn't working, i think to be fair i'll just delete it and try again and see if that helps.
In lighter news i've made a ton more content and added the latest LOD into Kamdoon as well. i've expanded apon the area past daggerfall castle etc with a vast coast area and village & started the first tier* of Ustentheim's Capitol which is a poor but not too poor district. And i've added a vast new area beyond "the gold road" forest areas of Update A1.2.0. With a village / town and a giant waterfall area that's teeming with life, or will be teeming with life soon.

in the past couple of weeks i've made some vast improvements to the world, it's getting bigger by the day. :)
see some screenshots and i hope that you enjoy!

I've been watching your progression from day one on this thing and I have to say, youve came a long ways. And it looks spectacular. This looks like something Beth would probably put out. I have not tried the demo as I want to save this mod till its completely finished and enjoy it fully. So keep up the fantasmal job.

Thankyou Mud -guy47 :)

yes i'm glad that you like this. and i agree it's only getting better. the last few days ive been barely sleeping and getting alot done to show for it. ive just made the start of my own "throat of the world" style mountain to boot, about 70% the epicness of the Throat* so far, my goal is to make it even bigger than the throat of the world. that and ive been cluttering afew interiors such as a player home* blacksmith* Inn* and the Jorvaskr Inn place too.. which took me a whole night to add the interior and to clutter it and navmesh it. still a million things to do but this is getting me excited now too, it's definatly come a long way :)

im sure that you'll enjoy the finished product! thanks.

Hey everyone.
i'm sculpting out the latest new content with some very nice results so far.
a massive open "whiterun" style plains area is what i'm working on now, to say how big that area is ive got to make there, will surely take at least 2 months full - time to get done but so far ive put in an interesting Watchtower "Nilfingaar" , added 80% of a new Capitol city "Morfolk Capitol" , and now adding onto this massive Plains area, with afew surprises hidden away here i won't divulge on those details yet! :)

Looks like it's coming along nicely!

So is the new land literally just added on to the edge of the existing world?

I wish I had more time on my hands as I'd love to start a project like this myself, more so for the learning process than anything. Did you use any resources (videos or guides) to help you with this?

Thanks SilentSpike

No, this is a whole new 'worldspace'. it's not accessible just by walking in a certain direction from skyrim, you teleport there and enter the world..
As far as guides go etc yes, all i did 7 or 8 months ago was begin to watch youtube videos tutorials, and read the creationkit guides. then i began making a small dungeon mod. then i just jumped into the deep end about six months ago and started making kamdoon.

Now it's really coming along well.!!

since update A.1.2.0 i've added 20+ new map marked areas, and a bunch of terrain landscape that isnt map marked but still takes alot of time to sculpt just right, with the right texture, tree and rock placement etc. especially those Rocky Tundra - like areas'
putting it bluntly in the last week ive got more to show than its taken me to do what i started showing way back in june/july. got some truly breathtaking vistas happening now. i'll get to screenshots soon and hopefully an epic new Trailer* in the next week or so. cant wait to get the new trailer out.
