Wish Werewolves could sneak

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 3:05 am

Between the 5 of us we should be able to keep the idea alive and on the front page, but as VideoGameMage said Vsions always manages to sneak off when the discussions get good.

edit : I spaced out and forgot that it's really me, Werewolf&Vampire, VideoGameMage, Rel_Dovahkin, dmel25 that push the most for werewolves and vampires to be tweaked or recognized as werewolf/vampire buffs.

I am all for giving Werewolves the ability to sneak. But if they don't, atleast make his breathing all growly so there's no doubt why it can not sneak up on people.

Haha vampiric grip looks so useful against giants. Although werewolves if they're good enough can ragdoll giants themselves. I can never get that sprint attack timed right for some reason.
two helpful tips. 1 As a werewolf walk up to a giant, bichslap with a power attack, then rip the guts out of them when their down. You don't have to be that good to do it. for fun, aim up at them and do it near a ledge. It's like playing golf amost.
2. Vamp Grip DOES NOT WORK ON WEREWOLVES. Depending on that to save you from a werewolf attack will get you killed with a swiftness. You may as well be Luke trying to move an X-Wing.

_edit_ hit the post button too fast. I wouldn't be aposed to clicking the stick to sneak, even getting some new werewolf assassination cam would be absolutely lovely, but the main reason the current werewolf available to us can't sneak is because of the deal the companions made with hircine. after all, to them sneaking is for milkdrinkers who lack any shred of honor or sense of glory. In game i've been hit a time or two now by a werewolf i had no idea was there until it ragdolled me.

Indeed. We have a fairly decent sized group of fanatics who keep pushing for things like this to be added. Hopefully our dedication will pay off in spades.
We are the Vocal Minority :drag: .

We just gotta keep making noise, sooner or later Beth is bound to hear us or at the very least convince Vsions to speak on our behalf.

In my mind, a werewolf sneaking around would be like the Hulk sneaking around.

But why ? Have you ever seen real wolves hunt ? They flip flop from an ambush predator to a pack hunter, all during the one hunt. There will be so many sneaking into ambush the prey and startle them in order to either take them by surprise or to start a stampede, either way the other bunch of wolves will also be in hiding waiting for the right time to attack. Why then would a werewolf hunt any differently ? If you ask me they wouldn't, they would hunt in the same manner as their wolf cousins.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-n8Q1cNr0OA this video is a very good example of just how smart wolves can be, I couldn't find any ambush footage but I can make a safe bet that the wolves started with sneaking and stalking, there is a reason why there's an instinctive fear of wolves among humans you know. I would also like to point out that it's a very effective tactic when / if a vampire lord makes a run for a body of water, you wait it out and do your best to keep him there to wear the vampire lord out. :drag:

A little earlier in the thread I mentioned that the Sneak skill tree carries over into beast form, allowing you to get with in 10-15 feet of your target. 10-15 feet is nothing for a werewolf, it's just as well to be right next to the werewolf, it takes 9 seconds to close a 100 foot gap ( at full sprint ), 4.5 seconds for a 50 foot gap. Which means that a 10-15 foot space could be closed in under 2-3 seconds while sprinting as a werewolf.

I'll also help keep this fire burning. Sneak for werewolves, Lunar transformations and werebears are all major features that I want for future DLC.

Have you ever played Bloodmoon?

And you would shocked to know how close a 500 pound tiger could sneak up on you.

Just a word of caution.. I've noticed that werebear threads tend to get locked. Sure It'd be fun, but Smokey the Fire Saftey Werebear would be too big to fit into most dungeon settings.

If they added a sneak/crouch option to werewolves they'd probably do the same with werebears, which would fix the dungeon issue you're talking about.

there is a werewolf sneak mod... werewolf affinity (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/16971). At affinity level 5, you "sneak" when you stand still or walk in the dark.

It's nice to see that the PCer's can at least have the option if they wanted but us poor console players are left hanging, we have to get creative. I know that the Sneak skill tree carries over when perked ( Light foot perk and the Silence perk ) which is a big help when stalking your prey BUT it's not the same as crouching down on all fours and sneaking in for the kill, as of now I can only get to with in 15 feet before I'm noticed and the surprise is ruined ( which for a werewolf is nothing to close ) but I'm still open to " line of sight " which means that the NPC ( or prey ) can still spot me if their guard is up. A sneak option would counter the " line of sight " just like it does in human form making it easier to get the jump on your target, not to mention the metric ton of RPing a sneak option would bring to the beast form.

I like that mod but it appears to be a lot of work to maintain. May give it a shot though.

Would still like the ability to change into werewolf form while running, be able to sneak if I want to. To be able to attack while charging or running. Would really like some kind of running jump attack.

I tested the Vampire Lord form just a few days ago - toggle (Ctrl) for melee and magic combat.

I asked myself. Why the hell didn't they do the same with the werewolf and give him a stealth option?

Because the werewolf was a late and rushed addition to the game, all they need to do is make a little " Gun runners arsenal " size DLC with improvements to the beast form. I would gladly pay around $5.00 for a small werewolf DLC that improved the beast form and maybe a little visit to the Hunting grounds.

Yeah, like I said before, all of this stuff can be extras in a DLC, they don't have to be the main focus.

I do speak on all of your behalf's on many occasions  In fact a number of us do. Some things make it and some things don't unfortunately, but we definitely try. I wish we had sneaking too. So much to do, so little time :( Forced Lunar Transformations? well honestly I think most people would hate it immediately after they love it. I remember playing GTA 4 and getting phone calls from the different people I met in the game that required me to hang out with them in some fashion or another in order to keep my relationships with them. At first I was like this is friggin awesome, about 20 phone calls later I hated it immensely. Forcing players to do tedious things is tricky stuff and can become frustrating. Unfortunately some ideas, even a bunch I have pitched and tried sound a heck of alot cooler than they actually play out when you finally implement it.

Also, bear in mind that there alot of things we cant comment on. So we are not trying to sneak away, we have to do the right thing. All I can say is that its better that way and can only hope you guys will trust me on that. Besides I have a big mouth and would likely get myself into more trouble than I already do if I commented on more stuffs. Not to mention that Im sure you guys like being surprised by stuff no?

What's the odds of Bethesda including werebears even if they're not the main focus of the DLC? It would please a lot hobbit fans if you did.
Edit: Dang it!! I scared him away.

So... does this mean no forced lunar transformations? Also you guys at Bethesda should check out REL_Dovahkin's thread http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1400513-an-idea-of-how-vampires-and-werewolves-could-have-been-done-thread-5/page__fromsearch__1. Good stuff there.

What about wild Werewolves that infect you? People that don't want Lunar Transformations could go the Companions route and peolpe that do could find the wild Werewolves.
