Worst Game Ever

War Front: Turning Point.
Horrible, horrible RTS game. Ridiculous story, Hayden Christensen style voice-acting, lame jokes/references and bad game mechanics.

The Red Alert series isn't far behind.

Superman on the N64. The gameplay was a travesty, the controls were an atrocity, and the sound effects (especially for flying) didn't even come close to qualifying as half decent. I couldn't play that steaming pile of bovine feces for more than five minutes without wanting to take it to a skeet range and shoot it.

I haven't played RA3. However RA1 and 2 were superb, the stories and acting are hilarious and the game mechanics of RA2 made the game so much fun. In what other game can dolphins with sonic cannons mounted on their heads face off against giant squids?

Big Rigs and I kid you not, I have actually played it.

In spite of its infamy, I think you're the first person I know who's played it! I think I saw everything I needed to know about it from that famous video review... it wasn't even "so bad it's good", it was so bad it was just bad.

Whatever happened to the "Rogue Warrior" section of these boards...

Or do we just politely not mention that title?

That's easy - Carmageddon 64. What a waste of money. I spent 2 minutes on it after getting it for full price on release day, being a big fan of the pc version. I'm surprised I played for that long. A truly awful game and, out of ten, deserving of a negative number.

Oblivion. Not because it's a bad game, per say, but because it was the single biggest disappointment of my entire gaming life. I've played some bad games, but none of them made me as angry as that one did.

As for a game I think is genuinely terrible in design? Minecraft.

PS3/XBox 360 version of Splinter Double Agent, the PS2 version is WAY better. And Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow was awful, just awful.

That's a bit harsh, the combat was a bit clunky but it can't possibly be the worst game you've played.

Probably one of the horrificly offensive ones like ethnic cleansing or just plain crap like Monkey Big Rigs or whatever it's called.
I'm not saying that it was the worst game ever, but it's definitely the worst game I've played.

Better than Mass Effect 3's ending at any rate.

Dragon Age 2, but that's more due to my high expectations and ensuing disappointment than to the actual quality of the game.

"Worst" is pretty subjective. My personal benchmark for gaming disappointment is Dragon Age 2. Coming from DAO, which I loved, and then getting this alleged "sequel", which was not much fun, not very interesting, not visually pleasing, where the stuff that had made the first game so interesting to me (Character Development and a traditional story told well, so good decisions, etc) was reduced to stereotypes and quips to develop a character, story depth removed, combat almost on autopilot and a story that simply did not hang together or stand up under any attempt to understand it. DAO - played through five times, enjoyed it every time. DA2 - could not finish. Ouch.

It's no point in me listing "worst games" from stuff I have read about but not played though. I have no idea if they svck or not.

Blair Witch 2: The Legend of Coffin Rock. My, god. The gameplay consisted of you walking around until you triggered a cutscene. Occasionally you would have to kill something. That's it. Three to four hours of just that. Mind numbing and very disappointing after how I much I loved the first game.

I'd like to think this is not true in the case of 2 games: Hoshigami and Saga Frontier 2.

>_> but there can only be one, so that's Saga Frontier 2.

Most disappointing? Final Fantasy XIII. I actually enjoyed it as a game in general, but slowly realized that it had next to nothing that made me a fan of the series in the first place.

Other than that, kinda hard to say. I honestly haven't played many truly bad games before. Evergrace on PS2 comes to mind, but all I remember is hating it with a passion.
