Worst Game Ever

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 3:52 pm

I'll make some enemies with this list.

Baldar's Gate
Planescape: Torment
Dragon Age: Origins

These may be fine games, but buying them taught me I HATE 3rd person and/or tightly scripted story lines. I want free-roaming first person. I own very few games (15-20, including DOS?), but I was unable to take very many hours of those listed (vs. probably 1000 hours in vanilla Morrowind, and still only half done or 200-300 hours in Oblivion and never went through a gate).

All the Elder Scrolls games.

Controversy for the win?

Mine was probably Superman 64. Destroyed my childhood dreams. Bloody horrible game.

Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. Game does not deserve to bear the Final Fantasy moniker >< Crappy story, crappy gameplay mechanics, crappy everything except for music, and that just wasn't enough to redeem it.

Milon's Secret Castle.

wwhhhhhaaaaaaaaattt? No way! I LOVE Milon's Secret castle, that game was great!

I never bought DA2, I already had a bad feeling after playing the demo before release so I waited to see what other people thought. That turned out to be a smart decision.

As for bad games that I've actually played...

I actually liked Prince of Persia 3D when I played it as a kid, but I tried going back to it a few years ago and... Ouch.

Deus Ex: Invisible War is an okay game, if it wasn't Deus Ex and if it wasn't on PC. As a Deus Ex game with a very lousy PC port, it's just bad.

Dragon Age:Origins.I don't know why,I just didn't like it much.

You must have not played many games then.

Personally it would be the Golden Compass on the PS3. As we all know game adaptions of movies tend to be quite bad, now imagine what happens when the movie itself is terrible. Yep...a game no one should check out.

EDIT: It's funny seeing people's answers and how much opinion varies. Some of the games mentioned here are among my favourite games ever, which just goes to show you people have terrible taste just kidding.

DA2 or ME2, Its hard to come to terms with one of your favorite developers going downhill/selling out. Thankfully I came to terms with Bethesda doing that long ago, at least mods can fix a lot of problems! xD

That was....

WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT?

As for worst game ever---I says it once I says it a thousand times---Alone in the Dark on the 360, horrible controlls, a cameria that chooses what view IT wants to be in, horrible controlls, bad aiming, horrible controlls, no health pick up items, horrible controlls...oh and did I mention horrible controlls? Cause it has horrible controlls.

Number 2 on the worst game list is Star Trek: Tatical Assault on the PSP, the upgraded system seems backwards to me as it seem to make your ship even worse and the enemies ship stronger.

The one 'Deadliest Catch' game for the 360. I rented it expecting at least so bad it's good, I got nonexistent AI and my half-hour stolen.

That's less of a game and more an interactive self-trolling device.

For me, hmmm... I would have to say the Monster Hunter series. The controls are weird, the levels are too hard, and crafting too complex to understand. Sorry Capcom, stick to Lost Planet and Street Fighter.

For me the worst game I ever bought and played was "Pirates of the Caribbean" on the original Xbox that was published by Bethesda and Disney Interactive. Not only was that game a bugfest with clunky combat controls and a horrible camera, the major game breaking bug of corrupting all of one's saved games should never have been passed by any sane QA department. I had to restart that game from scratch so many times because of that bug. It was so maddening to have to restart after you had your fleet and officers all leveled up, you were ready to go kick some butt and the game crashes just to corrupt all of your save files and hard work. Every time I saved that game I did a silent prayer that it would not crash and corrupt all of my saves.

This is the only video game that I have ever played that gave me a headache and made me want to throw my controller across the room. The game was so buggy that Bethesda and Disney did not even support the pc version with a single patch. I am so glad that I got this game from the bargain bin and did not pay full price for it.

I don't understand how people could say games like Fallout 3 or Dragon Age are the worst games they've ever played. Sure, you might not like them, but you've really never played a worse game?

I rather enjoyed Ethnic Cleansing... to each their own, I reckon. For me, it would have to be a tie between Duke Nukem Forever and Superman 64.
