* If you're not already using both Wrye Bash and OBSE, this mod is probably too complicated for you. Try something simpler first. Like FCOM.

* Requires: Wrye Bash 156, OBSE 14, Pluggy 40, Cobl, and brzUtils obse plugin. (And then you still have to do more!)
* Can be wildly uber. Can break quests if you're not careful.
* Likely to have odd interactions with other mods and Oblivion quests.
* Minimal Support. Risk the wrath of an angy, insta-ignoring monkey god.
On the other hand, it's seriously cool once you get it setup! You can easily morph between different forms/identities. Doppelgang NPCs, taking over their lives and homes. (As a minor side effect, each doppelganged NPC becomes essentially a teleport recall point.) Doppelgang bandits, amazons, conjurers, stroll into their lairs and loot them silly, or just shoot the bull about how many adventurers "you" have killed today.

Warning #1: Do NOT ask how to install: Wrye Bash, OBSE or Pluggy on this topic! I will immediately hit the ignore button on anyone who does this! If you have to ask this sort of question, then you're not ready for this mod! Go do other stuff for a while. Seriously, if you're not using at least Wrye Bash and OBSE yet, then you're too green for this.
Warning #2: Don't ask thoughtless questions on this topic! Again, I assume that you're advlt enough to try to figure it out yourself before asking for help. Again, insta-ignore penalties.
Warning #3: This is just a fun (if insanely grueling project!) for me. I'll probably provide a little support but not a lot. But I can pretty much guarantee that this mod will never be completely stable and safe when interacting with other mods and even vanilla oblivion. E.g. you can doppelgang a guard in the imperial palace and stroll into the upper levels of the palace -- which pretty much breaks a thieves quest. Or you can doppelgang Palomirya, go to her upstairs chamber where you'll likely find a nice Elaborate Chest from OOO -- which will promptly kill you if you try to open it. Or freeze you in place, or do some other weird thing.
The solution to these sort of problems will generally be: "Don't freaking do that!" Or, put another way:
If Wrye Morph causes your game to explode into little bitty pieces, I'm more likely to admire how completely it blew up than I am to actually do anything about it.
Warning #3a: Do not ask when this is coming out of beta. The answer is never. Because of the inherent risks of conflicts in running this mod, I'll expect to always leave the "Beta" label on. However, it will probably see some minor improvements in future releases. Or maybe not. RL has been calling my name for quite a while now, and I just may not do much more with it.
Coolness Warning: Again, if you bash patches for breakfast, and have deadly reflexes, and if you can usually figure stuff out on your own, I think that that you'll find Wrye Morph very cool, and fairly easy to use. Kind of like playing catch with a handgrenade. As long as you keep the pin in, it's quite exhilerating!
I should note that people who do machinima and/or story screenshots, or just a have a lot of past characters that they would like to switch between while in game will find Wrye Morph very useful. (Switch between old characters??? Sure can! See http://wrye.ufrealms.net/Wrye%20Morph.html#ImportingShapes.)

Credit where credit is due... Wrye Morph is based on the shapeshifting technique developed by Breeze582000 for his http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=811097 mod. It's a very cool approach involving a complicated interchange between OBSE, Breeze's own OBSE extension and Wrye Bash. I've expanded that approach quite a bit, adding doppelganging, stats, faction, and equipment morphing.
However, Breeze is pretty tied up with RL these days, and has given me permission to go ahead and release this more broadly.
Also, mucho credits to OBSE team, and to Elys for Pluggy. Wrye Morph would be completely impossible without OBSE. And without Pluggy a lot of the cool advancements (equipment, ownership, faction morphing) would either be impossible to too difficult to be practical.
Update: v24 (7/13/2008). See http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?s=&showtopic=828869&view=findpost&p=12500662.
Playtest Notes (9/23/08): I should note that I have seen some behavior related to some of the major guild quests that I suspect are related to Wrye Morph's faction switching. Specifically:
* The vampire hunters in Skingrad (for the Mage Guild quest there) reappear after they're supposed to be gone.
* The grey fox fails to appear at Malintus' house in Chorrol.
I haven't really tested much further, and I have not looked for the actual code that would be a problem, but I suspect that somehow these quests are resetting somehow. I'm also guessing that UOP may be involved. (E.g. using the console to move the gray fox to the player to deal with the second problem, he picks a travel package -- but the gray fox has no travel packages in Oblivion.esm -- I seem to recall that UOP added such a package to him.
As I've warned before, Wrye Morph's faction morphing (while very cool) is likely to be particularly prone to problems with vanilla quests since it breaks fundamental assumptions in the game (i.e. that the player never leaves or loses rank in a faction). I have not confirmed for sure that Wrye Morph is the problem here, but it certainly seems likely. Of course, OTOH, Wrye Morph is very cool. So use your judgement (and the console as needed).
Autoport: Autoport is turned on by default. You might want to try turning it off. There are arguments pro and con. Turning it off means that do an in-place morph, which is more consistent with "morphing" concept. OTOH, it's a bit of a cheat, since if you have a low level character who gets stuck in a bad dungeon, you can morph into a higher level character to get out -- whileas with autoport turned on, that low level character has to work their way out.
