Quests

When collecting bounty's from Jarl Skald the Journal fails to reconize these have already been collected and move the quest to the completed section. The NPC does however recognize this.

AI

During the Quest: Rising at Dawn The NPC Falion does not appear at the circle. He is not outside of it waiting to be pushed inside as is commonly known with this bug.

Items: Quest

Essense Extractor (Transcerning the Mundane)

Also all of the bards college items though i know this has been recorded already and is a common bug.

Rarely, enemy physics will bug out and teleport the enemy into the sky after being hit once. I hit a cave bear, and it warped up into the ceiling. It wouldn't come down until I killed it by hitting the spot where it was previously standing at.

Dragon hit box/collision box seems a bit too large and glitchy currently. The hit box is not properly transitioning all the time with the actual model. For example, I started doing a dual wield combo on a dragon while it was lifting off, and my combo managed to still hit it, even though it was way up in the sky. Sometimes, you can be physically hitting the model also, and be hitting air instead.

Sometimes during Alduin's bane, Alduin will freeze up in the sky and be unkillable. Sometimes, he will also spin in mid-air and then begin walking on the sky.

All dragon Ai gets stuck looping melee attacks sometimes. They will spam melee for no particular reason, like the Ai is getting stuck/glitched instead of trying to turn around and face the player/attacker.

There's some strange glitch that can cause massive framerate drops and crashes indoors. It seems to happen very rarely or randomly, and it usually clears up after turning off the system and reloading. May be related to multiple physics objects bouncing around and not stopping.

Bugged quests i have

Waters of Oblivion (Find the waters of Oblivion).. its in inventory but doesnt register on quest log , arrow still shows its location in chest still (but not there)
Take a Forwsorn Heart (repairing the phial) i have in inventory but doesnt register on quest log, arrow still shows its location on Forsworn (but not there)
(Speak to Great about going to the temple of Divines) .. it only ask questions about her husband
(Ask Aldis for information about Angleine;s Daughter) Quest still shows, Arrow pointing on the floor in solitude
(Approach the Night Mother) quest is on a loop .. killed the poorfish girl 5 times in a row
(Forbidden legend) Find Gauldurs amulet in geirmunds hall i have amulet, arrow still shows .. quest log doesnt register

cannot finish any of these quests ,also keep seeing these same bugs posted all over the net since November an not a lot being done about it :(

just found another

Kill the Leader of uttering Hills camp he is still dead with an arrow pointing at him from when you killed him for Niranye (thief's guild quest)

Im having texture problems it wont load somethings and it will turn a pinkish purple color im also having trouble with laggy menus freezes during loadup screens and i cant play because if i try to buy somthing the game freezes and i recently cleaned my disc sensor and nothing changed PLZ HELP ME.

I have a major respawning problem in my game with patch 1.3 that did not occur with 1.1.

I've tested the overworld respawn rates to be about 10 days. If I defeat an enemy and leave the cell for 10 days, they respawn. If I return to the cell between 1 and 9 days the enemies are gone forever. And I mean forever. The game removes the corpses (which it now does when you reenter a cell after 24 hrs.) and they can't respawn because they no longer exist in the game.

This is a universal problem, occurring across all profiles and gamesaves in my household. I believe it has something to do with Bethesda "fixing" the dragon corpses.

Has anyone else noticed anything like this? Seems pretty significant...

"TENDING TO THE FLAMES" - Find King Olaf's Verse

Using dawnbreaker against the drugar will cause the Verse to vanish (guessing its clipped below the floor) - reload the game prior to the last "surprise" combat and kill them without using Dawnbreaker fixes the issue - Verse now on the floor next to the skeleton. I looked for the verse for quite a while and tested things out to figure this out.

Finding the item before getting the quest BLOCKS the quest - NPC does not recognize in dialog that you have the item they are looking for and doesnt present a dialog to complete the quest.
Quest Item cannot be removed from XBOX 360 inventory as its a quest item - so we cannot put it back in the chest where I found it after getting the quest to force completion.
Quest arrow points to where I found it - though that chest is now empty.

no way to complete quest
no way to remove the item from inventory - so forced to carry that weight for the whole game.

using the bookshelf - put 20+ books on it - and the bookshelf "Ate" the books - books gone - shelf not functioning properly

Put books in a cabinet and ignore the bookshelf.

i have one bug. third word for slow time shout won't unlock. the wall is in hags end. i walk up to the wall the music plays but the screen dosen't get dark and the word dosen't glow so i can't learn the word. please fix. : ) PS. still best game ever!!!! has any one had this problem?

Just wondering if this is going to get somewhere. I mean do you know for sure if the bethesda guys are looking at this stuff, and wow if i ever get a job at bethesda i am defiently not gonna be on the programming team.

I didn't notice this one on your list but when using the Staff of Chain lightning, when attacking an enemy the arc sometimes jumps to your companion. This causes them to complain that they are on your side. Not sure if that should be classed as a bug or just friendly fire.

My character's arms are literally detached from the rest of my body when in first person view. For example, when readying a bow and arrow, there is a blank space between my arm and the bottom of the television screen. The draw-string of the bow is also visible when it normally should not be seen.

Basically, the camera seems to have been "pulled back" as if I were in third-person view, except I'm actually in first-person view. Although it sounds like a minor glitch, it's actually quite problematic as the aiming is affected. I can barely see the cross-hair when I'm trying to aim a bow.

It also occurs when I'm holding one-handed weapons and fist-fighting.

I've tried re-loading previous saves, but the bug seems to have infected all of my saves from the past 30 hours. I'm 95 hours in, and I really don't want to re-do everything.

Please fix this glitch Bethesda.

my game has started freezing during the loading screen when exiting jorvaskir in whiterun. after happening the first time i reloaded a previous save and went and did other things before going back to jorvaskir. the next time, i saved before entering jorvaskir, stepped inside, then attempted to leave immediately to make sure it wasnt quest related as i had taken a quest while inside the last time but it froze again during the loading screen. this seems to only happen when leaving jorvaskir. i havent had any problems with any other areas. Also i can no longer enter the underforge, i dunno if this is normal though since i recently cured myself of lycanthropy. not being a werewolf anymore may also have something to do with the freezing since i believe it is the first time i have returned to jorvaskir since curing myself. jist of it is i cant go to jorvaskir anymore unless i plan to never leave.

Glitches on the house at Windhelm. I saw this on the list :blood and bones still on the floor after house bought and fully decorated. (thinking of moving wife there to see if she would clean up the mess). This house has everything that I would want. BUT, only 4 dagger display cases work, the rest of the cases you can open and close, but they will not activate. Plus, the sheild/sword display in the upstairs hallway let me take the swords and sheild, but will not activate now. Plus, the other sheil/sword displays are just taking up wall space. This would be my 'dream home' due to the 4 armor displays and many weapon displays, but it ain't a-workin'!


(119 hrs in, 44 lvl Imperial Tank on the 360)

I just quit a fishing job for the guild. It was for a gold diamond necklace. When I quit the gold diamond necklace I had enchanted was removed from my inventory.

Quest glitch with "The Pursuit"
You may not be able to "Meet Karliah at the Ragged Flaggon, because she becomes stuck in the Frozen Hearth Cellar and will only say "Quickly what is it?" even if you hit her or knock her out, after decoding the falmer language in Gallus' journal.

Happened to me, I have no idea what caused it, but apparently there is no way to finish the quest right now that I know of.

EDIT: I've found a way of fixing, If playing on Xbox 360 or PS3 it's possible that if you return to the Dwemer Museum it will restart the previous quest "Hard Answers" and you can't go back and get another rubbing of the translation to give to "Enthir" and then you wait for Karliah to leave and it should work.

I have had a respawning problem in my game, enemies stay gone from the world forever in multiple locations. I kill them and they do not respawn ever. It's been over a year in game time and enemies on the outside of several dungeons have not respawned.

Another problem I am having is arrows never disappear when they are dropped regular arrows and the bound arrows. Also weapons enemies drop stay where they was left and after dome time they start to flair in the air.

Then the ash piles are never removed from the game world also. These are all respawning issues I am having with ny game, I hope they get resolved in the next patch. I should not have to scour the land looking for enemies weapons and arrows in fear of save game bloating and fear of my game crashing. There is nothing that can be done about the non respawning enemies and the never disappearing ash piles. I hope that these are fixed if enemies do not respawn we are going to left with a boring desolate world with nothing in it and no sense if danger. Also if things are not cleared from the world properly that can cause crashes, I hope this gets fixed asap.

Did you add the save game bug?

If the saves trail offscreen the save disappear. Let's say I save 20 Times from from 600 that would make 620 ok I can only see saves 610-620 it I can not see anything else. Also when I deleted some of the saves save 601 disappeared then reappeared as I was finishing deleting the extra saves.

Also if you try to save over one file it will overwrite another file, let's say I try to overwrite save 610 instead it overwrites save 615 leaving 610 untouched.

All of these save problems are an issue if you have multiple characters.

At Geirmund's Hall for the "Forbidden Legend" quest there is a pool of water down the hallway from the entrance, near the ramp back up inside the water there is a void zone that causes you to 'fall' and make that gasping noise characters do when they emerge from the water.

Windhelm house plaques and racks do not work if you do not complete both Blood on the Ice quests (Talk to wizard first). Done both ways, and they do indeed work if you talk to the steward first.

Weapon plaques in any home cannot hold onto Skull of Corruption, this includes the dual-weps/shield plaques as well. The weapon is displayed on it until you leave and re-enter the cell, and it's on the floor in front of the display.

(Mine non-respawn mentioned, but might be related to other respawn problems.) Gloombound Ebony Mine does not respawn, along with the Dremora forces at Dagon's Shrine on the same game-save. --------- On a different game-save, the Arch-Mage's garden does not respawn.

Hi all, this is my bug report (didn't see it on the op):

FORBIDDEN LEGEND - Fragment in Gerund Hall it's glitched under the ground and I can't get it
MISCELLANEOUS
-Report to the jarl of whiterun (stuck on diary)
-Kill the bandit leader located on four skull lookout (stuck on diary)
-Report leifnarr death to his family (stuck, don't know what to do)
-Disrupt the Skooma operation (stuck, failed, don't know what to do)

I have many other problems but they are already discussed here, hope I've helped, thanks!

During "Blood on the Ice" I never spoke to Calixto about the amulet, so the strange amulet has stayed in my inventory even after the quest was completed. Cannot drop it and it still states it is a quest item.

Bard's College quest: I retrieved Pantea's flute AFTER I received the quest from her and it still does not leave my inventory. The quest completed and I received the rewards, but the flute remains and weighs me down.
