Xbox Players - How would you react if...

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 12:53 pm

Snacks are ready, bed/chair is optimised for extreme comfort, girlfriend/wife is locked away/killed, children are put to bed/killed and you don't need to empty your bladder or bowels.
You open the case, get the disc and put it into the Xbox 360. And then, suddenly and shamelessly stereoptyically; RED RING OF DEATH!

How do you react? (No poll due to me wanting your reasons, not pre-set ones)

I would switch it with my dad's xbox, then re-download all of my stuff as fast as I could. He'd never know the difference.

I am tempted to buy a new one. Although for the same price I could upgrade my PC to reasonable degree.

I'd probably go on a murderous rampage, luckily that won't happen.

Murphys law - anything that can go wrong will go wrong. I'd knock on some wood after saying that.

I would sit there, stunned, for about 10 years. Then I would get over it and buy a new Xbox.

This thread topic pretty much sums up my recent experience with the XBOX. My Xbox got the RROD in September. I had it for about 4 years so I was like, "ah what the hell, I got a lot of use out of it so I'll just buy a new one." This is where the real fun begins.

I had the new Xbox for 32 days, then the internal memory failed. I couldnt log in to my profile, it kept freezing and I also couldn't copy any of my game saves to external memory so I lost everything. I took it back Best Buy and they made the exception to exchange it. I got home, opened up the box and it looked like the Xbox was used. I lifted it up and immediately heard something inside that was loose as I could hear it rattling around. I went ahead and registered the Xbox with Microsoft and it said the warranty expires in April of 2012. I called Microsoft and sure enough thry informed me that the Xbox had been purchased and retured before. I took it back to Best Buy only to find out they "accidently" sold be a refurbished one. They swapped it out for me again. (This was last Friday 11/4/11)

On Monday I was playing Arkham City when all the sudden I hear this grinding noise. After investigating I find out its the disc drive. I took the Xbox back to Best Buy and they swapped it AGAIN. I've had it for two days now. So far, so good...knock on wood!

I reckon you're a very rare case. Incidents of Xbox 360 Slim hardware failures are very scarce even on the interwebz.

Actually, I got it today (for PC), and the disc failed to load... I rebooted, and still, disk doesn't load... So I try the DVD (CE), and that doesn't work either... [censored].

Luckily, after two more tries it accepts it and loads up the install screen :)

I'd drive down the road to my friends house and use his X-box.

Cry. Fetal position. Listen to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpXggU9bhbk&feature=related for its full duration while staring at the ceiling and biting my fingers off.

Some people would overreact. I, however, have self-discipline.
