This thread topic pretty much sums up my recent experience with the XBOX. My Xbox got the RROD in September. I had it for about 4 years so I was like, "ah what the hell, I got a lot of use out of it so I'll just buy a new one." This is where the real fun begins.
I had the new Xbox for 32 days, then the internal memory failed. I couldnt log in to my profile, it kept freezing and I also couldn't copy any of my game saves to external memory so I lost everything. I took it back Best Buy and they made the exception to exchange it. I got home, opened up the box and it looked like the Xbox was used. I lifted it up and immediately heard something inside that was loose as I could hear it rattling around. I went ahead and registered the Xbox with Microsoft and it said the warranty expires in April of 2012. I called Microsoft and sure enough thry informed me that the Xbox had been purchased and retured before. I took it back to Best Buy only to find out they "accidently" sold be a refurbished one. They swapped it out for me again. (This was last Friday 11/4/11)
On Monday I was playing Arkham City when all the sudden I hear this grinding noise. After investigating I find out its the disc drive. I took the Xbox back to Best Buy and they swapped it AGAIN. I've had it for two days now. So far, so good...knock on wood!
