Xbox Players - How would you react if...

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 12:20 am

Snacks are ready, bed/chair is optimised for extreme comfort, girlfriend/wife is locked away/killed, children are put to bed/killed and you don't need to empty your bladder or bowels.
You open the case, get the disc and put it into the Xbox 360. And then, suddenly and shamelessly stereoptyically; RED RING OF DEATH!

How do you react? (No poll due to me wanting your reasons, not pre-set ones)

I'd get up, walk down to my local games rental shop (that sells consoles) and buy a new one.

Go get a PC copy. Probably where I should have started but I am lazy and just wanted to play on my xbox and not mess with making sure my PC is optimized and such.

I opened my xbox put real thermal paste on it and I dust it about every 3 months. It will never have red ring of death.. but I only use it for Dark Souls anyway.

I'd waste £260 for Skyrim. Anytime.

I'd probably go on a murderous rampage, luckily that won't happen.

I probably would wait until morning and get a new xbox. I doubt that's going to happen considering that I've given my Xbox a two week vacation from using it.

I actually had a PS3 go bad on me on the release day for Metal Gear (3?)... I had only used it previously to play GTA4... it was quite the heartbreak.

A really rare issue though, my graphics card started artifacting, luckily I had bought the $50 gamestop warranty.

I'd wake up, because I'm obviously dreaming. I've had my Xbox for years, it doesn't RROD.

I'd be able to buy a cheapie :P Luckily enough I've only had a RROD once on my original 360 (the one that heated up like an oven). Went off and bought myself a nice arcade one which was fairly cheap (I think I only dropped a hundred and fifty euro on it or so) and put my HDD in it. Ever since then, all is well :)

This has happened to me before. I said many dirty words and let the x-box set and collect dust for about a month. Then I checked the x-box support site and found out my console was still covered under warranty and I would not have to spend a dime to fix it. If that were to happen again my x-box is no longer covered under warranty and I would not fix it. I would return the game and build a gaming PC.

There are two kinds of X-box 360 owners. Those who have had RROD and those that will have RROD.

Which can still get RRoD, considering it was a product of abuse. Have you ever seen the inside of an RRoD Xbox? Covered in dust and all of the thermal paste is gone/needs to be replaced.
