If You've Been Holding Out, Will You Marry for Hearthfire? I

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 1:05 am

I married three of my characters off before Hearthfire released.
My main female Nord warrior is married to the Markarth housecarl, Argis the Bulwark.
My female Bosmer thief/assassin is married to Marcurio after they went on lots of adventures together (although she secretly longed to marry Cicero).
My female Dark Elf mage is married to the Revyn Sadri, the store keeper in Windhelm, but was surprised to find that we have to take turns sleeping in the single bed in his store. I want to move him into my house ...so does anyone know what will happen to his store?

Still single and looking:
My female Khajiit is still looking for Mr. Right ... she has an eye for that adorable Khajiit mage at the College but, alas, he will not have anything to do with her.
My female Redguard warrior & werewolf has not married yet but adopted 2 children out of the kindness of her heart and they live in Whiterun for now. She wanted so to marry Valdr after saving him but all she got was his lucky dagger.

They really need more marriage options. Two of my favortie characters, I have always wished Eric the Slayer and Cicero would be available to marry. Loved Eric the Slayer because he is so polite and helpful and Cicero because his dialogue is just hilarious. But then their dialogue would change to boring after getting hitched, like others mentioned.

Im still not married in any of my saves.

IF Serana was available I would have been mara amulet hooked already but that is not an option.

hearthfire is Very much worth the 5 dollars for console but not enough for me to want to travel the mara amulet road.

DLCs are awesome and definitely make me want to replay a brand new game of Skyrim again.

Serana imo just knocks every other ai npc out of the water. She was very well created imo.
Yeah she's a good AI but she stunts vampire-lord powers when she's traveling with said vampire, not to mention she likes to [censored] with s*it all the time. Gets kinda annoying having to repeatedly kick her off grindwheels and other such fixtures.

If I could do it all over again, I'd have Married Aela the Huntress. With the constant bandit and Dawnguard raids on my Falkreath home, maybe my family might actually still be there if my wife had been badass. Poor Ysolda didn't stand a chance.

Nearly always. In Morrowind I've ONLY played with Khajiit. In Oblivion my first main character was a kitty as well, though I did once play through the whole game with a wood elf, and I tried out Argonians but they simply looked too weird. Also lots of custom races but they were more for fun, not for serious RPing/gaming.
I've had one Argonian character in Skyrim which was my first character but he eventually got consoled into a Khajiit as well because it made it easier for me to RP the character. I tried High Elf once but I didn't like it.

I dunno why I do this, I just really like cats. Khajiit FTW!

For much of the same reasoning that I always play Dunmer. I just fell in love with everything about the race. From their widespread Cynicism, the culture of Ancestor Worship, just... everything about the Dunmer.

Their chosen/natural/racial Skill specialties, to their versatility I like the fact that of all of the Provinces, they were the only Autonomous Province of the Empire. The Lore and history surrounding them is equally intriguing to me as well. From their rift with the first Aldmeri Dominion, their journey west and settlement in Morrowind. Their wars with the Dwemer. The Curse laid upon them by Azura... everything about the Dunmer fascinates me.

They are my chosen race, and they chose me.

Have one character that married Balimund, but if you move him to your house you lose out on having a blacksmith to sell to, and you can't do anything to his house, AND he becomes very boring. Current character married Marcurio, and he's not 100% boring unless at home, as a follower he's still pretty good.

I think I will try to marry Mjoll because Aerin comes with her and that is one more body to guard the homestead.

So are any of the new dawnguard characters romanceable?
I've got a new game going and didn't know if there were any new options.

I have 1 save where my character is married to Farkas, I've got a new game not married to anybody yet.

Did you know it's VERY unsightly for a Khajiit to show his body fur in public?

Edit - The typical http://uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Khajiit#Morphology dresses in an ample shawl of brightly-colored cloth, known as a budi, for defense against the harsh rays of the sun. This shirt is tightly fastened in braids down the right side, in order to prevent any part of the torso fur from being seen, as the exposure of such in public is deemed both offensive and unsightly. In battle, those who walk upright traditionally don medium-weight armor in battle, exquisitely fashioned from loose-fitting leather overlaid with lacquered and highly-burnished metal plates. While leather caps are generally preferred, those with the means to procure such will often don helms of fluted silver. Furthermore, most Khajiit bedeck themselves with jewelry, trinkets, and occasionally even herbs such as http://uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Nightshade.http://uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Khajiit#cite_note-SFOT-19 Their tattoos often have deep cultural and religious significance, as they signify their race, tribe, and the gods of their worship.http://uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Khajiit#cite_note-PGE1E-8

Medium armor no longer exists. Looks like the Khajiit are screwed if they go to war again.
