you can't marry ingun because maven won't allow it...she's not gonna let some poor nobody marry her only daughter and mooch off her mead and money.

Hey, I walked into Maven's house at breakfast and Ingun said, "I hope you aren't here to cause any trouble." Maven then chastised her for persuing her interests in alchemy. Ingun shot back that she'd do as she'd please. Hemming, who, for reasons known only to himself, was sitting cross-legged on the table, tried to impress me with his warrior skills. I sidled past him and, making sure the Amulet of Mara was around my neck, got Ingun's attention. She was agog that somebody took a fancy to her. Well, the deal was sealed. I enjoy calling Maven "mother" when she demands why, in the name of Oblivion, I'm talking to her. The irony is that Hemming, as steward, has to choke on calling her mother, and instead address her as "Maven"! Totally worth it.
