Your current most hated artistband

Post » Tue Jan 01, 2013 3:14 pm

I still think Pete Waterman is worse for what he did to pop music in the mid '80s. The tedious old fart.

I remember that era. I think it was because of I'm and that other fellow what his face Stockake that the original indie charts started. Small bands on independent labels who don't have their music sold solely off the back of mass advertising and being pushed forward by commercial radio and TV.

Brokencyde (or bROKENcYDe, as they refer to themselves when they feel particurlaly in the mood to irritate right into your soul).

Check them out on Youtube if you dare. I would provide a link to one of their 'songs' but I'm not sure if the mods would lock the thread due to me posting stuff that is potentially extremely hazardous.

No other band has come that close for me to hate, but they did and I think forever will, no matter who the next Bieber or One Direction is.

It's not an artist or a band that I hate so much

It is Simon Cowell and his horrific money grabbing programmes that sells the world absolute rubbish through glitzy brainwashing. He has got to answer.

He is destroying real music in place of gimmick tv
Don't be angry at Cowell. Be angry at the gullible fools who watch his shows.

Many. I dislike many bands/artists and if I could make them disappear I′d choose the Illuminati ones like Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj etc.

Amen :) I've never listened to them but I'm sure they aren't very good

I feel a combination of amazement at how simple people are crossed with a feeling of sympathy for them.

Simon is evil as he just uses people and extorts cash from the weak. He knows exactly how to play things and he is seriously damaging the music charts.

I'm surprised , given today's culture, at the lack of hate for bands like Linkin park, foo fighters, 30 seconds to mars as well as heavy metal like Ac dc and slip knot

OT all my stuff has already been said
AC/DC might have released the same album with the same songs on it for 30 years, but they are pretty good songs, unlike George Thorogood and the Destroyers.
which is more than I can say for Slipknot who as far as I know have just gone *chugga chugga chugga pinch harmonic chugga chugga chugga* for forty minutes and called it music.

Half the thread says they don't listen to mainstream and are old-school/super indie/ post music genre listeners, yet all have the same answers for who they hate. Are there not any old-school/super indie bands that you hate?
Nazareth are not a good band and I've never really understood why Nirvana are so beloved (I don't hate them, I just think that like the Beatles they have too much hype).

I can never forgive Phil Collins for those late 80's Clapton albums he made.

I don't really understand American Beauty by The Grateful Dead. It doesn't speak to me or hold my interest, but I don't doubt that it's beautiful in its own right.

I didn't mean I don't understand their music, I just don't understand why they became so massively and enduringly popular when, say, Pearl Jam are almost unknown to the average high school student now.

I don't really dislike bands per say, but songs. Because every band that I can think of has at least one song I don't mind hearing.

I guess the closest band would be Pink Floyd. Their music just tends to depress me, at least the songs I hear on the radio.

For people like Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, while I don't like their music at all and would turn it off if I heard it on the radio...I don't really care about them as a whole, enough to dislike or hate them at least. That goes for many artists in that genre and related genres.

One Direction

I feel like their success is just a result of money invested in marketing the frontman's smile. To me, its gotten to be like nails on a chalkboard every time I see it.

I'll give you a hint, and it has to do with everything under 7 on the pH scale.

Oh wow. I think Pitbull is my most hated. He's just so irritating.

But Blood on the Dancefloor, Linkin Park and most Metalcore bands I feel are equally deserving of my wrath.

Lil Wayne, Bieber, Minaj, and Ke$ha are easy targets.

Who's really annoying me right now is Rihanna

Vanilla Ice... Oh wait, he no longer exists..

I actually respect the guy...he's more lyrical than most rappers today on the radio...that's how sad the hip-hop industry is these days.

But truthfully, I'd rather listen to Ice Ice Baby than pretty much anything from LiL Wayne.....ugh.

I actually loved them for the first few albums...they certainly have changed quite a bit.

I'll admit that he's better than some. (Allot.) of rappers. It's just that from the few songs I listened too. They were corny as hell.

Metallica.

I can't stand it or anyone who claims to be a hardcoe metal man because he listens to Metallica.
Metallica doesn't even play metal. They should rename their band Balladica or something.

Metallica's biggest mistake was not renaming the band for the albums that weren't thrash metal. They'd been better doing it as a side project called "Load" or something. That way they wouldn't have discredited the Metallica name.

Something that has bugged me in recent years is metal fans mis-using the term "metalcore" for bands that aren't punk. Bullet For My Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold and Trivium are prime examples. Metalcore is a branch of hardcoe punk that originates from a NYHC influenced scene with bands like Integrity, Converge & Earth Crisis. Bands like BFMV & A7X are way too melodic and organised musically to ever be punk. They are more inline with bands like Linkin Park but using breakbeats.

I remember many years ago someone telling me how awesome Nazareth were. I finally heard them recently and concluded that... well, they aren't. They sound to me like a sort of proto Guns & Roses.

Talking of Guns & Roses, there's a voice that makes me want to break something every time I hear it: there's just something about the way he alternates between sounding like he's trying to do a duck impression and that whiiiiiine that really does my head in.

Skrillex and all his imitators. I have respect for him as a producer but that sound has become a parody of itself.
