Your current most hated artistband

I make it a policy to not hate bands. I don't necessarily like them or have any interest, but I don't hate them.

Every country singer.

This. This so much,

Also Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, Lady Gaga, One Direction, and Justin Bieber.

So very much dislike and anger.

T'was this latino guy this whole summer he drove me crazy he was basically everywhere, impossible to avoid: tv, radio, phone ringtones, with his terribly stupid song that I'm not going to google because it's not worth it (some sort of Spanish text and onomatopoeia refrain).

Beyonce. She's just so horribly overhyped by the media for what she's worth, and I don't find her remotely attractive or appealing. (A lot of those people who hate on progressive rock and complain about how prog musicians always "noodle" on their instruments seem to like Beyonce a lot, while not being aware that in most of her songs, she's "noodling" with her vocals herself!)

Dishonorable mentions:
Justin Bieber (for pretty much the same reasons that the rest of you guys dislike him for)
LMFAO ("sixy And I Know It" has to be one of the most monotonous and annoying songs ever)
Chris Brown (Never did like his music, even before he shown himself to be a stuck-up jerk who beats up his girlfriends)
BlessTheFall (because screamo-punkish metalcore just isn't my thing, and I really don't like Beau Bokan...mostly because I'm jealous that he married Lights :/ )

Every country singer.

Oh, that's sad. I'd say you're not listening to the right stuff. There's some great country/alt country/ stuff out there. Which one leaps to mind that you dislike?

I don't really listen to any music that I don't like, but I hate what acts like One Direction and Justin Bieber represent, studio constructs who have their material written for them and are more brand than artist.

I don't hate any of them personally though as I don't know them, and I would much rather spend time liking stuff than hating it.

Every country singer.
That's true of modern country radio garbage (like Garth Brooks and Keith Urban) but some older stuff is okay, like the best of Cash's work, Neil Diamonds country tunes and the Rolling Stones country covers.

Forever The Beatles.

The most overrated band in the entire history of music. Fine if you like nursery rhymes and sickly melody though.

John Lennon's holier than thou/hypocritical attitude is kind of annoying,

On the topic of hated bands, I must admit I find Jim Morrison's lyrics grossly overrated.

That's probably 100% true. I'm sure there's some country I'd like, just not the mainstream stuff. I don't think of anyone specifically, mostly because everyone I hear sounds the same anyway. Any recommendations?

Old school would be Hank Williams; new school would be Uncle Tupelo. Then there are The flying burrito brothers, Neil Young, and The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. It's not always straight country standards and some of the ones that I've listed are more Alt Country than the stereotypical Banjos and Mandolins. Try any of them. I promise that they're all considered to be among the greatest, but like any music you'll have to give it a fair crack of the whip, so two listens minimum but more is better.

Someone could probably give better reccomendations than me.

No offence to Hank, but his music is kind of... hokey?

the pontoon song that all the middle age women seem to play at my job. Actually it got a cool beat to it, until the singer sings poonntooon! Its just so drawn out...makes my skin crawl everytime. Other than that i don't hate any music, well besides pop music, but i'm not 12-14 girl so i doubt it was made for me anyways

I can understand why someone would say that. It's the voice that does it for me; that and songs like: "I saw the light"; "Rambling Man"; "My love for you (has turned to hate) and quite a few others. Boy what a story behind the man though. He invented being a 'Rock n Roller' before anyone dared to be bad.

Oh, to be on topic. Lana Del Ray makes my skin crawl and my inner ear scream. If that women ever held the same note for more than a half a second I'd die of shock.

The Beatles.

Only because I can't stand their sound. I get that they're a classic band that set the basis for most of our modern music, but they're just terrible, I think. No, I'm not saying I hate them because everyone seems to loves them (though people seem to think it's an obligation to love them), I hate them because they just don't "do it" for me. Beautiful lyrics about love/friendship/all the sweet stuff aren't enough to make up for a monotonous beat, or boring instrumental.

I find Hans Zimmer to be the pop-producing machine of the movie scoring scene.

Not sure what stuff you like, but for me, I can't stand country pop rock like Brad Paisley but I love http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mhdn8iFDUzY.

While not really a band, I'd remove most of John Lennon's solo work. If not all of it then "Imagine" at the very least.

You'd like world peace? Well aren't you just the most forward thinking revolutionary!
