Your current most hated artistband

Post » Tue Jan 01, 2013 10:08 am

I'm not the sort to hate an artist because they're mainstream and popular (which seems to be the cool thing to do), but I hate Nicki Minaj. Eww.

And I can't stand the "Post hardcoe" [censored] or what ever they're calling it now. My friends listen to it all the time and I have to leave the room. It is unbearable.

Many. I dislike many bands/artists and if I could make them disappear I′d choose the Illuminati ones like Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj etc.
Illuminati?

Beethoven.

But... Symphony no. 7... Second movement... ;_;

I wonder why people deem it important to say the same thing over and over again. I think everyone knows Justin Bieber is not well liked by many people, any reason to repeat it again and again after someone stated the obvious?

Also, didn't the thread maker state to name ONE band, instead of listing every band that people know are disliked by many.

Two reasons. First, many posters respond to the original post without regard to the entire thread, the entirety of which may not be of interest to them. Second, the thread asks a question and is basically an informal poll with fill in the blank answers. The number of times a given artist performer is named is relevant.

Edit: How do you do the crossed out word thing? Neither of the buttons that look like they serve that function seem to work for me.

What? This? Well just follow my guide.

Of all time, probably The Beatles.

I agree that they are very overrated but if you really hate them more than Justin Bieber or Rebecca Black or something you must have poor taste.

Half the thread says they don't listen to mainstream and are old-school/super indie/ post music genre listeners, yet all have the same answers for who they hate. Are there not any old-school/super indie bands that you hate?

I realise that, but this is not really a poll in my opinion, I do not feel we are trying to discover which is the most hated performer in this forum, but rather the feelings of the invidual.
And even if it were a poll, there usually is an actual list of which you can choose from and you have no need to actually reply.

It just annoys me to read fifty "I hate Justin Spears Destiny", without actually contributing anything >_>

Because one can't avoid mainstream music. You really have to live in a cave to avoid things like Justin Bieber, Nickelback, or in my case Metallica. It's hard to hate indie bands because to listen to an indie band you must first seek it out, which means that you will by default have some interest in them. I'm a metal man myself and listen to many bands that would qualify as indie, and if I run into a song I don't like I just ignore it and find another band. But stuff that comes from the radio each day, stuff that's in TV, you can't escape them.

However I really don't understand all this Justin Bieber hate. Of course users of this board don't like his music. He sings to 10-year-old girls, not to 40-year men. I hate Metallica because I like metal but I don't think Metallica is a good metal band. Likewise I do not hate Justin Bieber because I am not in his target group and I don't listen to his genre so I have no reason to hate him.

That's probably 100% true. I'm sure there's some country I'd like, just not the mainstream stuff. I don't think of anyone specifically, mostly because everyone I hear sounds the same anyway. Any recommendations?

Lucero, I hate the mainstream stuff(as in whats played on the "Country" stations 100000 times a day) as well but enjoy stuff like Lucero, Drive by truckers, Uncle Tupelo, etc.

As for my most hated....Nick Minaj

I can. :/
I've only heard 2 JB songs and both of them I willingly looked up and listened to to see just how "bad" they were.

So have I. However I was using JB as an example. Had to come up with one or two names quickly and given their recurrence in this thread I chose them. Point is that there is a reason that mainstream music is mainstream.

But of course, if one really criticizes an artist he has never heard sing, he must look into the mirror and pronounce himself a scoundrel and a liar.

I'm surprised , given today's culture, at the lack of hate for bands like Linkin park, foo fighters, 30 seconds to mars as well as heavy metal like Ac dc and slip knot

OT all my stuff has already been said

Now why on Earth would you EVER have something against the Foo Fighters? Dave Grohl: Been in a legendary rock band... Twice.
AC DC is my favorite Classic Rock.

If I had to choose a single artist, It would be a tie between Rihanna and Katy Perry because of their large influence on children and making blatantly sixual innuendos, and briast ornaments.

I think he meant he's surprised given the culture of today that people don't hate good bands?

Well, I now hate with a vengeance The Flaming Lips. I love everything they did up to and including Clouds Taste Metallic -- Zaireeka sits in a weird space in my mind that I've not fathomed yet. But everything after that I truly dislike. I've seen them twice post Clouds Taste Metallic and they're now not a patch on their former selves.

I also dislike Dinosaur Junior -- even though as punishment my mates just bought me tickets for their Bristol gig in February.

Ed Sheeran. Can't stand him.
"Oh he's from our town you should like him!"
Ones area of birth doesn't mean i like their music. I respect him for being one of the few people in Halifax to do something but I don't LIKE him.

It's not an artist or a band that I hate so much

It is Simon Cowell and his horrific money grabbing programmes that sells the world absolute rubbish through glitzy brainwashing. He has got to answer.

He is destroying real music in place of gimmick tv

I still think Pete Waterman is worse for what he did to pop music in the mid '80s. The tedious old fart.
