Top three SNES RPGs: Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, Terranigma
Top three SRPGs: Live A Live, Disgaea, Ogre Tactics
Top three PC RPGs around 2000: Planescape: Torment, Deus Ex, Baldur's Gate II
Top three modern PC RPGs: Fallout 3, The Witcher 2, Dragon Age: Origins

1: Fallout 3

2: Oblivion

3: Mass Effect 2 or DA: Origins, hard to choose

I'm thinking Skyrim will be knocking Oblivion out, but if not it'll easily take number 3.

1. Chrono trigger
2. Earthbound
3. Last is tough but im going chrono cross or zelda OoT

I have very fond memories of the original Heroes of Might and Magic.

Still not enough Bloodlines in this thread! Here it goes:

1) VtM - Bloodlines
2) Knights of the Old Republic
3) Morrowind

, Deus Ex and VtM - Redemption are all very close to being as amazing as the games on that list.

I agree with this completely. I should start a new Bloodlines game...

1) Dragon age: Origins (emotional impossible choices and voice acting made this game the best)
2) Final fantasy VIII (yes it is the 8, I discovered it before final fantasy VII)
3) Final fantasy tactics

That's easy.

1)Morrowind
2)Ultima IV
3)Baldur's Gate 2

Other Great games and series:
Mass Effect Games(especially 2)
Witcher Games(especially 2)
Dragon Age Origins(NOT 2)
Planescape Torment
Deus Ex
Fallout(all of 'em, especially 2)
KOTOR

EDIT: And how can i forget KOTOR?
EDIT 2: Oh right.
Ejem, i Managed to Play Skyrim for a bit a few months back, and i can safely say that it will be in my top 20 RPGs of all time.
Top 10? i don't know. Top 3? i seriously doubt it.

But i have no doubt i will love it.

EDIT 3: Just to be Clear, i've played MANY MANY, MANY RPGs in my life, and i have love FAR more games than just these, but i'm not gonna list them all.

1. Mass Effect: 2
2. Zelda: Wind Waker
3. Nox

I expect Skyrim to be my new #1.

Wind Waker as number 2? Not ocarina of time? You must be young (I hope)

Haven't played any old school RPG's and that's not likely to change. So for me it would be.

1 - Dragon Age Origins - Loved everything about it. The story, characters and combat. I even bought the dlc for it. Which is something I rarely do.
2 - The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Loved the exploration, the quests and world. Although I thought it was a bit to bright and cheerful sometimes.
3 - Fallout 3 - Loved the story, the exploration, quests, weapons and companions. Spent many hours wandering in the wasteland.

I expect Skyrim to take the number 1 slot.

Nope, not young. I just preferred it over Ocarina of Time.

Disregarding the fact that Zelda is not an RPG series, many of the people who love OoT are blinded by nostalgia goggles. It was a great game at the time, but it's not unusual for someone to prefer the later games in the series, because they are good games too.

Well i'm glad for you, but Zelda is not an RPG series, it's an Adventure Series.

My top 3 RPGs are:

Morrowind
Dragon Age: Origins
Arcanum

I think I'll enjoy Skyrim, but don't really see it making the top 3.

3. Dragon Age Origins

Baldur's Gate II
Fallout 3
Mass Effect 2

That said, Skyrim looks to be exactly what I've been yearning for. I want exploration and I want it now!

1) Morrowind
2) Oblivion
3) Fallout 3

And I don't need the whole "If TES/Fallout 3 is your favorite you haven't played enough RPGs" diatribe. I've played almost any RPG you can think of and these 3 are my favorites, deal with it.

1) Kotor 1&2
2) FO 3/NV
3) Two Worlds (1)

now dont hate on my 3rd, ill explain why its my 3rd. Before i got my 360 the only games i would play was shooters and adventure platforming games (zelda, mario, banjo kazooie 1&2) and once i got my 360 my friend tried getting me to play oblivion but it was just too over whelming and a bit boring (also pretty dull aesthetic wise). Later after giving up on trying to get me to play rpgs, my friend got two worlds (1), and one day i watched him play it and it just got my attention by how much different loot was in the game. So he let me try out a dungeon just to get a simple feel of the game before actually exploring and i just fell in love with the loot hunting in the game. So to be frank, Two Worlds (1) was my first rpg and thats why it holds a special spot in my fav rpg games list.
