Your Top 3 RPGS of all-time.

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 9:42 pm

Just as it sounds, people. I know it's tough business grinding the list down to only 3 in a sea of great possibilities. Just try.

My top 3 RPGS are:

1) Baldur's Gate: SoA
2) Oblivion
3) Final Fantasy 3 (or 6 if you want to get technical)

I'm happy to report that, considering what I've seen and heard thus far, Skyrim may just overtake BG:SoA in the next few weeks. I hope it does.

I'm curious to see your top 3, boys and gals.

1) Final Fantasy VII
2) Persona III
3) .......Oblivion? I don't know.

EDIT: Actually, 3 would probably be Dragon Quest VIII.

Dragon age origins
Fallout 3
Oblivion/ mass effect can't choose between

I've also never had the opportunity to play baldurs gate and morrowind was slightly ruined for me since I played it after oblivion and was spoiled by graphics.

1) Morrowind
1) Daggerfall
3) Arena

I only play TES RPG's. Morrowind and Daggerfall are so close I really can't disguish them.

Oblivion doesn't make the list and neither will Skyrim.

1) KOTOR,
2) Oblivion,
3) Fallout 3.

I didn't include Morrowind because (honestly) I thought the magicka system svcked. Just my opinion. I have played it since, but not with mods. It's been very hard to resist downloading it from Steam while I wait for Skyrim, but I don't want to overload myself with TES all at once. Actually, now that I think about it, I should just go ahead a download Morrowind anyway. I'll play it at some point. Also, was Oblivion that much better on PC? I played the hell out of it on 360 (before I sold it and saved up for 4 months to build the PC I now type this).

I bought KOTOR on Steam after hearing how good it was, only to find out it wasn't compatible with Windows 7. I'm yet to find a solution. I've tried almost everything.

Hmm narrowing it down to 3 is very tough mate. Hard decisions had to be made! Sacrifices done!

1/ Planescape. Hands down one of my all time favourite RPG's. My first introduction to a more mature humour in a computer game also.

2/ Baldurs Gate 1 and 2. Couldnt be seperated so I included them as a series and as one. ANother fantastic RPG and from the same studio Black Isle.

3/ Morrowind. Open world exploration, hours upon hours of roleplaying goodness. What more can I say.

Thanks for reviving some fantastic memories as I delved the deep recesses of my mind.

Omg! Can I have 4?...If not I may have to substitute unfortunately, Morrowind for Fallout 2. It would be a shame to have to do it. :sadvaultboy:
