No Planescape: Torment in anybody's list?

Good dialogue but I really despise the Infinity engine.

1. Morrowind
2. Daggerfall
3. Modded Oblivion

-----
4. Mount & Blade: Warband
5. Nehrim: At Fate's Edge
6. Gothic II
7. Deus Ex
8. Baldur's Gate
9. KOTOR
10. Might & Magic VII: For Blood and Honour

I can see Skyrim making my top 10-15 RPGs, but there's very little chance of it making the top 3.

In no particular order, Morrowind, SMRPG, and KoTOR I guess.

1. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
3. KotOR - I can't decide whether I like the first one or second one more.

But really, I love Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, Mass Effect (1 & 2 & (eventually) 3), A Bard's Tale, Fable: The Lost Chapters, and sometimes-but-not-so-much-anymore, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and not to mention any of them as my favorite RPGs, even in a list of three, kind of feels wrong. They're all great, IMHO.

The Elder Scrolls is king, sitting atop its throne.
Final Fantasy 12 is next, please do not groan.
Fallout 3 is last, but through no fault of it's own!

Gonna go old school (in no real order):

1. Betrayal at Krondor
2. Baldur's Gate II
3. Dragon Age

HS!! i totally forgot about krondor, my dad brought that home and i remember playing it, and then all of a sudden something happened, and completely wiped everything out.
my list:
1. daggerfall
2. final fantasy
3. krondor

1. Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
2. Secret of Mana.
3. Any Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale game

The first two games hold a special place in my heart as they were what introduced me to RPGs. I'll never forget them.

The Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale games for sheer depth and customization!

Morrowind comes in at a close fourth though.

Where will Skyrim fit in? Tough one. It'll be hard to replace the memories of my childhood

1. Morrowind
2. Oblivion
3. Guild Wars is defined as a cooperative online role playing game rather than an mmo per se. I play it solo, very anti social, and very uncooperative. Guild Wars 2 will have a strong explicit RPG element and you can reach level 89 playing it as if it were an offline game. There will be RP guilds in GW 2, but for me RPG is something that happens in my head.

Dragon Age Origins gets honorable mention. The original Borderlands game to level 50 was an RPG experience for me.

1. Morrowind
2. Fallout 3
3. Borderlands

If Skyrim can at least top one of these (and I am fairly certain it can) I will be more than happy :tes:

1 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrono_Trigger
- You simple can't beat this classic rpg.

2 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Legend_of_Zelda:_Ocarina_of_Time
- One of the best games of all time across any genre. Misses some of the rpg elements that I like in deep rpgs, but as an action rpg there isnt anything better than zelda.

3 Final Fantasy 7/Oblivion
-
  • These are tied because i love em both about the same and have a hard time picking one over the other because their gameplay is so different. I love the idea of the elder scrolls. the go do whatever whatever you want appeals to me greatly, but the story and materia system, combined with the outstanding characters and weapon upgrading and boss fights make it hard to pass up on the best final fantasy entry.

1. Daggerfall
2. Chrono Trigger
3. Morrowind
HM: Final Fantasy 2NA (4?), Mass effect 2, Fallout 3, Final Fantasy 3NA (6)

Skyrim could definitely take #1 though.

1. FFVII
2. Star Ocean: Second Story
3. Brave Fencer Musashi (#$#@ing STEAMWOOD!)
FFVIX is pretty close here too.
If multiplayer then:

1. WoW
2. Diablo 2
3. (Diablo 3, Hopefully to top them all).

In all honesty, Skyrim is just killing time until D3. /flameon
