Due to the plethora of reviews giving Zelda SS perfect scores, I think it's pretty obvious that it will receive GoTY. I just can't see how these sites will be able to justify, however, giving a game like zelda (whose main concepts/characters/storylines/gameplay mechanics), that has been recycled since orcarina of time, a GoTY award. Not to mention that it looks like something I could catch on teletoon. Zelda is Nintendo's CoD: They pump the same game out every time, but it's worse cause it takes them 5 years between releases. Skyrim is superior to Zelda in every single way, and this is from an objective point of view. It's more mature, the combat is better and there are more combat options, there are more choices, the world is more open, the game is longer, there is more content, need I go on?

Super bummed guys. I think Nintendo paid many of these sites, or [censored] reviewed the game. I can see liking zelda if you grew up on it - because you loved it when you were six. I still love the Land before Time. Doesn't mean it should win awards over Jurassic Park.

(And then there's the additional bit where billions of websites, magazines, and organizations, give "GotY" awards. Which 1. makes them even more meaningless; and 2. means that Skyrim will likely get several. You're also forgetting some of the other games out there that someone will give GotY to. Like Battlefield, CoD, Uncharted, Arkham City, Minecraft, Dark Souls, Deus Ex.....)

Zelda is a beloved classic because it's a good game. Skyrim is a good game too. Get over it.
Now, gather all around and beat your chests while you bash Zelda together.

The only one that really matters is the VGA one. BF3, CoD, Dark Souls, and Deus Ex were forgettable (yes I've played them all). So is Zelda. Arkham City is Skyrim's only real contender. But I'm having way more fun with skyrim than I did Arkham City.

I love Zelda, and I love Skyrim. But they should not be compared or contrasted together as they are two completely different games.

Zelda was a good game.... ten years ago. Pretty sure industry standards have risen and Zelda has stayed the same and rampant really devoted fan-ism is blinding reviewers to this fact. Also, why is really devoted fan censored, seems a bit dumb.
